Capítulo 21: Chapter 21 – No, You

He had power. And he would use it when necessary.

But for now, watching and seeing was his decision. If things were better or worse than he thought, he would take action.

"I will go first today. What about you?" He turned to her and asked curiously.

"I will train with Taylor and Jenny a bit more. I still have a lot of things to improve." Kiara said as she turned back and watched the couple fight for a while before turning toward him again. "Well, I will try to go against both of them at once. They have become good opponents for me to train my 'technique'."

"Good luck." He nodded at her.

Vale walked out of the gym. For the last few days, this might be his first time moving alone. There were no monsters chasing him or anyone to talk to. Just him and his thoughts.

'Now, I said to leave them alone, but...' He looked in the direction of Las Vegas. 'The gang who openly terrorize people shouldn't exist. If I happen to meet them in Scenario 2, they will definitely try to drag us down for profit. The best way to deal with them is by paying them a visit right now.'

And he had an idea on how to do that.

"Let's use my full strength this time." Vale muttered softly as he felt his power surging through his body. White aura covered his body.

While he didn't level up in the past few days, that didn't mean he wasn't getting stronger. No, he also got stronger than before. Especially since he trained his Qi every time he had a chance.

By now, his Qi had multiplied a few times from the amount he had when the apocalypse arrived.

Qi: 61

Not much, but it was enough to act as a boost for his martial arts. He wondered how much his Qi could increase before reaching his limit. However, that wasn't important now.

With this much Qi, he was able to do something like this.

Boom!

The ground underneath him cracked as he jumped into the air. A shockwave was created from his jump, sending a lot of dust flying everywhere. Everyone was surprised. They immediately took their camera to record what happened.

But before they could open a camera application, Vale had already landed on the roof and began to run toward the nearby airport.

Yes, an airport. It would be a long journey, even with a plane. He wasn't dumb enough to run all the way to Vegas. He could spend time writing a novel on a plane instead of running.

Arriving at the airport, he looked around for a plane that was about to take off and bought a ticket using his ID. His name and face were already known to people. There were many who took his picture from afar without his permission.

'Whatever. It's not like my face can be changed again.' He thought as he entered the plane and sat on his seat.

There were a few other people on board. They had seen his white hair and recognized him. But they didn't bother him and went to their seats while murmuring something under their breath. Vale didn't care about that as he leaned back on his chair and took out his laptop from his space earring.

'Well, it's time to continue my apocalypse novel. All references are ready, so it won't take long.' He thought as he opened the document and started writing.

He was in a good mood today. It had been a few days since he was resting and doing something else. It was relaxing and refreshing. He also felt comfortable around Kiara and her reckless behavior. Taylor and Jenny were quiet and mature, which was a nice contrast.

Writing his novel here would be a great experience too.

And so, he arrived at Las Vegas without any problem. Once he landed, though, it was a different story. The news underestimated the gang in Las Vegas.

"Yo, welcome to Las Vegas. It's $100 to exit the airport and another $100 for transportation." A man with a gun greeted him with a grin on his face, showing his missing front teeth.

Vale looked at him with a frown on his face. His good mood from finishing 3 chapters of his novel was gone at once, replaced with annoyance and anger.

'This is a chance. First, I will deal with the gangs.' He thought as he raised his hand, 'Then, I will track down the boss who terrorized people and had him to cooperate.'

With a swift movement, he grabbed the gun and pointed it at the man's forehead. The guy froze in place as he felt cold metal touching his skin.

"Let's do this instead. It's $100 to give me information about the gang and the boss in Las Vegas and another $100 to save your life." Vale said as he looked at him coldly. "How is it?"

The man trembled in fear. He didn't dare to move as he couldn't figure out how Vale did that so fast.

But he was a quick thinker. Surviving in a gang required him to be adaptive and resourceful. He knew he had threatened the wrong guy. So he was able to pull himself together after a few seconds.

"O-okay! I will tell you everything I know!"

Vale released his grip on the gun and lowered it down to his side, "Good choice. Let's talk in your 'transportation', shall we? And tell me about the gang that terrorize this city while driving me to their hideout."

The man nodded his head and lead him to the vehicle behind him. They climbed in and began to drive toward a casino owned by the gang. Vale listened to everything he said during the journey and kept his poker face on the whole time.

However, he was satisfied with the information he received.

'The gang is trying to control this city for money and survival.' He thought as he looked at the window and watched the casino coming closer. 'Thomas Adler is their boss. He is a level 15 Survivor and his passion is money. Then why is his ability to control blood? Does it refer to a dirty bat that wrung people dry or something? This is actually perfect.'

He didn't care about that.

As they arrived at the casino, the man stopped the car and gestured toward it.

"It's there." He said with a solemn look on his face, "But I can't come with you. T-They will kill me if they see me with you!"

Vale just nodded his head and stepped out of the car while holding his sword behind him.

"Thank you for the information." He said with a polite smile on his face, "Where is my $200?"

"Ah! Here." The man immediately gave him the money and turned on the engine of his car, "Good luck! I hope you can get out of there alive!"
