Capítulo 59: Chapter 59: Pokémon Hunter

While eating his noodles, Giovanni pondered. He knew about Pallet Town's specialties, but when it came to ingredients, he was unsure. Pallet Town rarely exported ingredients to Viridian City, as they were mostly self-sufficient.

"If I had to say, a friend once told me Pallet Town has a unique mushroom that tastes great. It's hard to find it outside Pallet Town," Giovanni said after thinking for a while.

Heath considered Giovanni's words. It seemed the specialty of Pallet Town was mushrooms, a rare treat outside the town.

After thanking Giovanni, Heath continued studying his textbook using the method Kadabra had taught him the previous day.

"Are you getting a driver's license, Heath?" Giovanni asked curiously after finishing his noodles.

"Yes, Mr. Giovanni. I plan to get a license and travel with my food truck to explore the world," Heath replied with a smile.

Giovanni was surprised but then smiled and encouraged Heath, sharing some of his own travel experiences. Heath listened carefully and noted them down.

After Giovanni left, Heath checked his phone. It was daylight, but the stores weren't open yet. He needed to wait for the shops to open to buy some folding tables and chairs. Giovanni had eaten standing up, making Heath feel a bit embarrassed. He had planned to buy tables and chairs before but had been delayed for various reasons.

The morning rush kept Heath busy, and he quickly forgot his embarrassment. The beef noodles attracted many customers, though without tables and chairs, Heath had to pack the orders for takeaway.

By the end of the busy morning, Heath's chef's eye task progress had increased to twenty, making him very satisfied. He only needed eighty more satisfied customers to complete the task.

Once the streets quieted down, Heath called a furniture store and ordered four sets of folding tables and chairs, costing him 1,600 League coins, which pained him a bit.

After the tables and chairs were delivered, Heath checked his rewards from serving customers.

He occasionally received candies, though none were Rare Candies, which didn't bother him.

[You served Muse and received Tracking Technique (Beginner)]

Heath was surprised. He had been too busy to check his rewards earlier and hadn't expected to receive something unusual.

"Tracking Technique? Muse must be the one who caught the Charmander," Heath thought, pulling out a small book titled "Tracking Technique."

Heath remembered Sister Maple mentioning yesterday that the captured Charmander had been sent to Mr. Adams' house. They suspected this helpful citizen was either a tracking master or a Pokémon hunter.

A dirty and despicable profession, though registered Pokémon hunters under the League had strict regulations. However, registered hunters were rare, which was why Sister Maple had visited Mr. Adams' house.

Heath initially thought the injuries on Charmander were caused by Adams' son. But after visiting Mr. Adams' house, he was shocked.

Now Heath believed Charmander's injuries were likely inflicted by the helpful citizen, suggesting he was an unregistered, black-market hunter.

Despite these thoughts, Heath opened the book on tracking technique to study it.

"This system is peculiar. Pokémon like Zorua can learn instantly, but I have to study," Heath sighed, looking at the book.

He had hoped to learn the skill just by opening the book, but he had to self-study, making it quite realistic.

Heath studied the book for a while before the furniture store staff arrived, bringing the four sets of folding tables and chairs. At least now, customers could sit and eat.

"Meowth!" Heath heard a Meowth's cry from the bushes behind him after the furniture store staff left.

"Meowth, are you here for breakfast?" Heath cheerfully brought a few prepared breakfast crepes and walked to the bushes.

What he saw stunned him. An Ekans was carrying a Pokémon—Charmander.

Though treated with medicine, Charmander was still severely injured and weakly lying on Ekans. Ekans hissed at Heath.

"Isn't this the Charmander from yesterday?" Zorua also recognized the Charmander.

Through Ekans' and Meowth's cries and Zorua's translation, Heath learned why Charmander was here.

"You little guy... you escaped again?" Heath sighed, seeing Charmander's weak state.

Yesterday, Heath had worried about Charmander's condition but thought Adams' son, though a bit twisted, wouldn't harm Charmander.

But it seemed Charmander couldn't accept the trainer's peculiar interests and had escaped, worsening its injuries. Fortunately, the stray Meowth and Ekans found it and brought it to Heath.

"This stubborn guy got himself seriously injured again," Zorua said, worried.

Heath looked at Charmander's tail flame, which was shrinking and nearly extinguished—a critical sign indicating Charmander was close to death and needed immediate treatment.

Without hesitation, Heath picked up Charmander and, with Farfetch'd and Zorua, rushed to the Pokémon Center.
