Delilah sat at her desk, fingers poised over the keyboard, but her mind was far from the emails she was supposed to be responding to.
Instead, it kept drifting back to her lunch with Hunter. The way he had handled Conner with ease, the flicker of disappointment she had seen in his eyes when she mentioned going back to work, and most of all, the kiss that had left her breathless.
She couldn't help but replay the scene over and over in her mind, analyzing every detail, every word exchanged.
She shook her head, trying to focus on the screen in front of her. It was no use. Her thoughts kept returning to him, to the way he looked at her, the way he touched her, and the way he seemed to care.
