Capítulo 143: 142. Undead Duo

(Powerstones PLEASE)

Sora could be seen waking up.

"Hmm, so much light... is it already day?" Sora sat up in his bed.

"I really need to put up some curtains somehow."

Sora was living in the training ground, still without a proper house.

Well, he couldn't be bothered to either buy a new house or create some seals to block the sunlight.

He generally woke up before the sun was out so that usually wasn't a problem.

Sora rubbed his eyes and looked around.

"What is it?" he asked, glancing toward the corner where Anbu had just stopped.

The Anbu had paused, sensing Sora waking up and not wanting to startle him with his presence.

Now he realized Sora had sensed him approaching.

"Lady Tsunade has requested your presence," the Anbu said.

"Fine." Sora placed his hand on the bed, which promptly disappeared into his bracers.

He quickly vanished with a body flicker, the Anbu following close behind, keeping pace.

Sora hadn't used his signature jutsu, so the Anbu could keep up with his speed, which was currently approaching Jounin-level.

Sora wasn't in a hurry, so he wasn't at full speed, even without using his Shape-shifting jutsu.

Anyway, Sora reached the office and entered from the terrace instead of the bottom door.

Only NPCs use the bottom door.

Main characters like Sora, and side characters like the Anbu, get the privilege of entering like that.

"Yo, Baa-chan, why'd you wake me up from my beauty sleep?" Sora asked.

What do you mean he's a boy? He needs to sleep properly, like the young boy he is.

Sleep isn't for the weak; it's for the smart.

Tsunade rolled her eyes and tossed him a scroll. "This is your second mission—you need to deliver this scroll to Suna, specifically to the Kazekage."

"Oh, a new Kazekage was elected? And you're finally giving me a new mission after 3 months, or technically 6 months since you last gave me one," Sora said, excited.

He had been bored of either sparring with Hanabi or training his medical ninjutsu. His chakra control had come a long way, and he had learned Mystic Palm.

Mastering it, though, was another matter.

To do that, you need all the medical knowledge of human anatomy, chakra, and all that stuff.

It's ironic—you need to learn Mystic Palm to be considered a proper medical ninja, and you need to master it to be considered a master in your field.

Well, not a master on the level of Tsunade or Kabuto, but a high position in Konoha Hospital, which is, mind you, one of the best medical facilities in the entire world, especially among the five great nations.

This speaks to the difficulty of mastering the A-rank jutsu, Mystic Palm.

(A/N: Yup, I checked. It's an A-rank jutsu. How funny—all three of Team 7 learned an A-rank jutsu at 12 years old. I wonder if that was intentional.)

"Yeah, you actually know him. Anyway, it'll be a surprise for you, I guess. Now get going," Tsunade said, shooing Sora away.

She had too much work to do, and Sora liked to talk. Since he trained mostly alone in his cave—no, training ground—Tsunade was one of the few people he could talk to.

Tsunade really didn't want to delay the cursed paperwork she had to finish.

Being Hokage wasn't really her thing.

Maybe Orochimaru would have been better suited, but he was more interested in building his own village.

So, it is what it is.

Sora freshened up a bit and went to Hanabi to say goodbye. The mission shouldn't take too long, but he'd probably want to stay in the Sand Village until it was fully completed, so he decided to say his goodbyes to Hanabi first.

His luck is really good—or bad—depending on the perspective, so saying goodbye just in case is always a good idea, right?

What if he got jumped by some scary people along the way and died or something?

"Yo guys, I'm going to meet Hanabi. Can you inform her?" Sora said to the guards. One of them immediately went to tell her.

If you're wondering why Sora didn't just go inside himself, well, the guards didn't allow him to.

But isn't Sora a top-level ninja who is really good at stealth? He even infiltrated the Hyuga Clan when he was just an academy student, so shouldn't he be able to sneak in?

Well, the answer is that because of that infiltration, the Hyuga Clan barred him from entry.

Those prideful fools had been made a mockery of, so they wouldn't let him in again, for fear of reopening old wounds.

It seems the Hyugas have taken up the role of the Uchihas—or so it seems.

...

Nah, if Sora had pulled something like that on the Uchiha, they would've launched a rebellion.

"What do you want so early in the morning?" Hanabi asked.

"It's already 8. See the light?" Sora pointed up at the brightly shining sun.

It was YOU—

"Anyway, I'm going on a mission, so it'll take a few weeks. I'm telling you this time, so yeah," Sora said.

"Good, at least I'll know how you died," Hanabi said darkly.

"Hey now, I'll probably live... I don't think anything unusual will happen on this mission," Sora said nervously.

What was with people saying his mission was bound to go wrong or something?

"Just kidding. You'll live," Hanabi said, hugging Sora.

"Whoa, what's with you? Are you going to block my chakra points or something?" Sora asked, not used to being hugged by anyone.

When Hanabi hugged him, he immediately thought his chakra points were about to get sealed.

"Nah, it's a kind of sign of farewell," Hanabi said, breaking the hug.

"Sign of farewell?"

"Well, in case you die," Hanabi smirked.

"Ugh, I hope I live." Sora's paranoia was at its peak by now, so he could only respond awkwardly.

"Me too," Hanabi said, patting him on the shoulder.

"Well, see you later." With that, Sora body-flickered out of the area.

He didn't want to hear any more morbid jokes.

Sora had already placed an order for multiple bowls of ramen to be packed, so he picked that up and left.

He hadn't paid for them yet, so if he died, at least he wouldn't have to pay. Maybe someone else would cover it.

Sora wondered this as he exited the village.

"First solo mission—let's make it count."

Sora set off at a relaxed body-flicker speed, which didn't put much strain on his chakra reserves.

'I wonder how things have changed with Sasuke and Naruto.'

Sora remained alert, with 80 per cent of his focus on his surroundings.

Maintaining 100 per cent focus wasn't realistic for anyone—well, it's possible, but not for extended periods.

Normally, Sora would only keep about 60 per cent of his focus outward, allowing himself to think about other things.

But today, his paranoia was high. He really didn't want to get ambushed, thanks to all the ominous comments he'd been hearing since the morning.

'Hmm, should I increase my pace or not? At this speed, I won't reach Suna by tonight.'

Sora weighed the pros and cons of arriving by today or not.

'Hmm, I guess I should try to reach it today. I'm too paranoid.'

With that decision, Sora increased his speed.

He didn't need to take breaks since body flicker didn't strain his stamina or chakra reserves too much.

By evening, Sora was very close to Suna.

Suddenly, he weaved hand seals, doubling his speed as he quickly vacated the spot.

A vacuum blade struck where he had just been standing.

"No wonder this kid has such a high bounty," a voice said from behind the smoke.

"I'm gonna educate him on the greatness of Jashin."

As the smoke cleared, Sora's eyes widened in horror.

Two figures stood there.

What shocked Sora most was the cloaks they wore.

They brought back bad memories of his encounter with Sasuke's brother and that shark-faced guy.

It was the Akatsuki.

More specifically, the Undead Duo.

Capítulo 144: 143. Getting Jumped by 7 People

(Lol, we are already in this arc on wn, just realized that)

"So, this is the kid who is said to be a prodigy greater than Itachi? I wonder if your bounty matches the rumours I've heard of you."

'Damn, my luck, two S-ranks are going to jump me now?' Sora cursed his misfortune.

Did Tsunade and Hanabi kind of jinx him or something?

If he was going to die today, his spirit was going to haunt them both till the end of time.

"Should we kill him or not? The bounty for him alive is more, right?" Hidan asked the money lover.

"Hmm, let's first test him." Sora weaved hand-seals.

He completed his hand seals before diving to the side, creating a wind hurricane that caused soil erosion.

Kakuzu, the infamous bounty hunter, was causing deforestation.

This would have been funny to Sora, but he quickly used Body Flicker to dodge a lightning jutsu aimed at him.

He reached his highest speed very quickly and... ran away.

'I am not going to engage with those guys. The stitched guy is definitely S-rank, not sure about the gloomy guy, but he's dangerous,' Sora thought as he ran away.

Or tried to, as he quickly had to stop when earth spears erupted from the ground.

'Wind, Lightning, and Earth now... what's with those masked dolls?' Sora dashed in a different direction.

However, it seemed he was trapped as a volley of fire came toward him, covering a large area.

He was already weaving hand-seals and spewed out water to stop it.

Just as he used that jutsu, he felt a water jutsu coming at him from behind.

He crossed his fingers, and two shadow clones formed, each making a hand sign. They joined hands with their faces in opposite directions from Sora's main body, which was dealing with the fire jutsu.

The clones materialized a water mirror, and the water jutsu clashed with it but was neutralized.

'I'm not just being jumped by two people, but six now?' Sora wanted to cry.

After dealing with the fire jutsu, he jumped into the air.

The spot where he was about to land became a swamp.

While in the air, a lightning bolt went straight for his head.

Sora released chakra from the side of his head, tilting it slightly to dodge the lightning jutsu.

'Fire, Water, Earth, Lightning, and Wind, huh. The only person I know who can use all five elements at this level is either the Third Hokage or Kakashi-sensei.'

Sora weaved hand-seals. The fire and wind masks released their respective elemental jutsu at him, angling to combine within seconds.

'The Third can't use such jutsu in combat... probably, and Kakashi-sensei isn't that skilled with wind jutsu. This guy is interesting,' Sora thought, unfazed.

He could always reverse-summon himself since he had the apricot with him.

The only problem would be the response time, so he had sent a signal to reverse-summon him at a moment's notice.

Now, he just had to survive until the confirmation signal arrived.

Sora released two water balls from his mouth, colliding with the fire and wind jutsu before they could combine, neutralizing both.

Suddenly, Sora frowned as his two clones were dispelled.

One was hit by a lightning jutsu, as it couldn't dodge while using a shape-shifting jutsu.

'Yeah, that's bullshit. My speed is at a high elite Jounin level, and my shadow clones can naturally go faster,' Sora thought, frustrated. He figured the guy must be predicting his movements, either due to experience or some kekkei genkai.

Sora used Gale Palm to dodge an earth mud ball and reach the ground faster.

Just as he landed, he ducked to dodge a scythe.

"Give me your blood and be sacrificed to LORD JASHIN!" Hidan shouted.

"Uh, I'll pass," Sora said, narrowly dodging the fanatic's scythe.

'This guy... definitely doesn't seem like an S-rank. He's barely an elite Jounin,' Sora observed.

Sora dashed forward, getting inside the guy's scythe range.

However, Hidan changed the trajectory, sending the scythe back toward himself.

'Too late,' Sora thought as he brought his palm near Hidan's chest.

However, his palm didn't touch the chest.

A blue sphere formed and tunneled into Hidan, destroying his heart in one swift motion.

But Sora noticed something strange.

'This guy's life energy... his chakra isn't decreasing,' Sora realized. He had killed before and knew that chakra typically became disturbed.

"Got you!" Hidan said, his scythe inches away from Sora's head.

However, Sora simply pointed his finger backward and fired a mini-Rasengan, destroying all the momentum of the swing and making Hidan spin, which Sora used to pull his hand out of the hole in Hidan's chest.

Sora's eyes widened as he saw a firestorm approaching him, just a few meters away.

He could feel the heat from here—let alone touching it.

It hadn't even been half a minute since Sora encountered the undead duo, so the apricot hadn't reacted yet.

Sora didn't have time to cast a jutsu, either seal-less or with seals, so he had to face the firestorm with chakra covering.

'What the hell, doesn't that guy care about his partner's life? I thought they were teammates. What's with the friendly fire?' Sora thought as he focused all his chakra to the surface of his body, preparing to release it constantly to avoid getting burned.

'Hmm?' Sora noticed that the ground around him was shifting.

He couldn't do anything but see what would happen as he was focusing on defense while preparing for a Body Flicker.

The ground—or rather, the sand—around him formed a dome, shielding him from the firestorm.

Hidan, however, wasn't so lucky and took the firestorm head-on with his heartless body.

"I'll kill you, Kakuzu!" Hidan's voice screamed.

Hidan would really kill Kakuzu if given the chance, but unfortunately for him, Kakuzu was more than five times his age.

Kakuzu was old, and killing him when Hidan wasn't even stronger and didn't have the element of surprise made the difficulty jump from hard to insane.

Hidan was unlucky, but since he was a masochist, it was fine.

After the flames subsided, the sand dispersed.

"Oh, you are... him," Sora said, intentionally avoiding the word "Jinchuriki," as that would be dumb in front of people who were already after his life.

"It's been a while. I forgot to tell you, but the conga was good," Gaara said with a light smile.

"Uh, glad you liked it," Sora replied, unsure of what to say.

What was he supposed to say?

That was a way for him to survive when dealing with a psychotic person who could easily kill him.

Sora was even more tense now than before, though he didn't let it show on his face.

What if Gaara was trying to make him believe he was on his side, only to backstab him later?

He was already being jumped by seven people—now one more?

What day was this?

Beat Sora Day?

Here's the corrected text:

Sora really wanted to somehow escape, but he couldn't just leave the Sand's Jinchūriki here.

What would he say to the Kazekage?

That he ditched the Jinchūriki to S-rank criminals when his life was in danger?

'Maybe I'll say Gaara sacrificed his life to protect me,' Sora internally nodded, then glanced at Gaara.

Gaara shivered for some reason, oblivious to what the other red-headed, innocent-seeming boy was thinking.

"Hmm, I don't know if I should continue the hunt or not," Kakuzu mused as one of his masks retrieved the Jashin fanatic's head.

Sora fired a Rasengan at the heart, but the mask used Hidan's head as a shield to protect it.

"That guy's heart is his weak point, and probably for all five. It seems killing him won't be easy," Sora pointed out, noticing how Hidan's head was already regenerating.

Everyone at the scene ignored Hidan's curses and screams.

This was definitely some kind of abuse of human rights or something.

Unfortunately, Hidan was a criminal, so nobody was going to fight for his human rights in court.

Well, his deeds definitely indicated that no one should.

"Hmm, should we capture these guys or kill them directly?" Gaara asked.

"I like your confidence, but are you sure you can handle an S-rank?"

"You're here too. We won't let that guy regenerate, and he seems useless anyway."

"Yeah, just don't let him get close to you or take your blood. He seems fixated on that for some reason." Sora could read people's emotions to some extent, so he could make some guesses.
