Veronica, who had awkwardly extended her hand to give Tessa water, retracted her hands and resumed eating her food.

Elias patted her back and waited for her to finish drinking the water before handing her a handkerchief to clean the corners of her mouth.

"What are you doing?" Facing him, she whispered from the corner of her mouth, pretended to smile at everyone, and returned her attention to him.

"I understand you are shy, but bear with me," Elias said, smiling at her, and Elliot snorted.

Who would have expected him to take his words so seriously? He only told him to protect her, why was he being cringey and making her uncomfortable?
