The carriage rolled through the bustling streets of King's Landing, each cobblestone echoing the stories of the realm's capital. Malaevor, looking out with a mix of curiosity and nostalgia, absorbed the sights that stirred fragments of memories from his early years.
The city sprawled along the shores of Blackwater Bay, its towering Red Keep dominating the skyline. Narrow, bustling streets wound through districts teeming with life, from the opulent Red Keep to the markets of Flea Bottom. The aroma of street food and the cacophony of merchants haggling filled the air.
William, seated beside Rhaenyra, couldn't help but share a nostalgic glance with her. "It seems we are back to the place where we first met," he remarked, the memory of their initial encounter vivid in his mind.
Rhaenyra chuckled, her eyes gleaming with shared reminiscence. "King's Landing has a way of weaving tales, doesn't it? Our journey has come full circle."
That was true. William knew that there is a reason behind that.
Malaevor, who was still looking out of the carriage window, recognized bits of familiar landmarks.
The Red Keep's imposing structure stood tall against the sky, a symbol of power and history. Memories of a time he barely remembered surfaced, as he was at a young age when he used to live here to remember in detail.
As the carriage neared the gates of the Red Keep, guards in the colors of House Targaryen hailed their arrival. After recognizing them. The gates creaked open, revealing the grand courtyard within. William leaned forward, his eyes scanning the familiar surroundings.
The carriage came to a halt, and as the doors opened, the Targaryen family stepped out onto the cobblestone courtyard. Viserys Targaryen, dressed in regal attire, descended from the steps of the Red Keep, with Alicent following suite. And her daughter and sons.
"Welcome back," Viserys greeted, embracing his daughter and son-in-law. His gaze then fell on Malaevor. "Is this Malaevor?"
Hearing this Rhaenrya responded: "Indeed, Malaevor has grown a lot since you last seen him."
Viserys studied Malaevor for a moment before a smile crept across his face. And then came closer to Malaevor and gave him a hug.
When they let go, Viserys then said: "We're finally reuinted as a family."
