Capítulo 21: Chapter 21 (Late night drives)

That evening, Kreo and Azazel prepared to go to the NICU. Azazel was nervous but also excited about seeing his children again. Kreo drove them to the hospital, the car ride filled with a quiet anticipation.

When they arrived at the hospital, they made their way to the NICU. The soft hum of machines and the quiet murmur of nurses filled the air. Kreo spoke to the nurse at the front desk. After a moment of consideration, she nodded and led them to the room where the triplets were.

Azazel's heart pounded as he entered the room. The sight of his three tiny babies, each in their own incubator, brought a warm smile to his face. He approached them slowly, placing his hand gently on the glass.

"Hello there," Azazel whispered, his voice trembling. "Mum's here."

Kreo stood beside him, placing a reassuring hand on his shoulder. "They're beautiful," Kreo said softly.

The nurse returned with a small smile. "Would you like to hold them?" she asked.

Azazel looked at her, his eyes wide with surprise and hope. "Can I?"

"Of course," she replied. "Let me help you."

She showed Azazel how to carefully lift one of the babies from the incubator. Azazel's hands shook slightly as he cradled his child, the warmth and fragility of the baby bringing a flood of emotions.

Kreo watched with a gentle smile, his heart swelling with pride and love for Azazel. "You're a natural," he said.

Azazel looked up at Kreo, tears forming in his eyes. "Thank you," he whispered. "For everything."

Kreo nodded, his eyes misting over. "We're in this together," he replied. "Always."

They took turns holding the babies, the room filled with a quiet, profound joy. Azazel felt a sense of peace that he hadn't experienced in a long time. Holding his children, with Kreo by his side, he knew that despite the chaos and uncertainty of their lives, they had a chance at happiness.

As the evening turned into night, they reluctantly returned the babies to their incubators. Azazel leaned over each one, kissing their tiny foreheads. "Goodnight, my loves," he whispered. "I'll see you soon."

Kreo wrapped an arm around Azazel as they left the NICU. "We'll come back," he promised.

Azazel nodded, feeling a renewed sense of hope. "I can't wait," he said, leaning into Kreo's embrace.

They walked out of the hospital, the night air cool and crisp. For the first time in a long while, Azazel felt like things were going to be okay. He had Kreo, his children, and a future to look forward to.

As they drove home, the city lights twinkling around them, Azazel looked over at Kreo and smiled. "Thank you," he said again, his voice filled with gratitude.

Kreo reached over, squeezing Azazel's hand. "You're welcome," he replied. "We're going to make this work, honey."

Azazel nodded, feeling the weight of his fears lift.

"Wanna go on a late night drive tonight?" Kreo asked as the radio continued to play softly in the background.

Azazel looked up from his meal, a hint of curiosity in his eyes. "Sure," he replied. They didn't eat a proper meal, as Kreo drove them to a drive-thru and got something simple. Burgers, fries, and a couple of milkshakes.

The night was cool, the streets mostly empty as they drove through the city. The car's headlights cut through the darkness, casting long shadows on the quiet roads. They ate their food in comfortable silence, the radio playing soft tunes that filled the gaps between their conversations.

The hospital visit had been emotional, but it also brought them closer together. They wanted to relax, talk, and enjoy each other's company.

Soft tunes filled the car, creating a soothing atmosphere. They drove through the quiet streets of the city, the lights from the buildings casting a gentle glow on the surroundings.

After a while, Kreo pulled over to a scenic spot overlooking the city. The view was breathtaking, with the city lights twinkling like stars in the distance. They got out of the car and leaned against the hood, taking in the sight.

"It's beautiful," Azazel said, his voice filled with wonder.

Kreo nodded. "Yeah, it is. And it's even better with you here."

Azazel turned to Kreo, his eyes reflecting the lights from the city. "You know, despite everything, I felt a gentle touch from serendipity's embrace." he said. "Everything aligned perfectly, not by design but by chance. Changing both our lives."

"I agree," Kreo said, reaching out to hold Azazel's hand. "No matter what happens, we'll face it together."

They stood there for a while, enjoying the peaceful night and each other's company. It was a perfect ending to an emotional day, and a reminder of the bond they shared. The late-night drive had given them a chance to reconnect and create new memories, strengthening their relationship even more.

Everything seemed to be back to normal, as they now focused on Kreo's powers. Kreo still had something lingered in his mind: where did Azazel go after he ran away?
