Dan stood there perplexed, his expression vividly showing a glimpse of the terror he felt—terror even the Trail King had never evoked.

Unlike Dan, who could sense their presence, Troy only heard the scream and couldn't grasp the gravity of the situation. But looking at Dan's face, he realized instantly that the situation was worse than he had imagined.

"I'm heading back," Dan said and zoomed off.

"Luis, watch over Luke and Ariel," Troy commanded and was about to leave, but Ariel's childish antics stopped him.

"No way! I'm following Uncle Dan," she barked.

"If Ariel is going, so am I," Luke added.
