Capítulo 17: We should get out marriage license - part 2

The store staff followed Ha-Na, handing her the dresses and retreating discreetly to give her space. She slipped into the first dress, a sleek black gown that hugged her body in all the right places.

When she emerged from the fitting room, Hyun-Jin's eyes darkened with approval. "Not bad," he said, his voice low and suggestive. "Let's see the other one too."

Nodding understandingly, she went back to try the other dress.

As soon as she disappeared back into the fitting room, Hyun-Jin turned to Woo-Jin. "Get a sprain bandage," he ordered, having noticed her slightly pained walk in the high heels and right foot lightly swollen.

Ha-Na quickly changed into the second dress, a striking red one that accentuated her waist and flared out at the hips. She caught her reflection and admired the way it highlighted her figure. Stepping out, she said, "I like this dress better. It accentuates my waist and complements my skin tone."

Hyun-Jin's eyes lit up with approval. "Then you should keep it," he replied, stepping closer. "A perfect dress deserves a perfect necklace."

He reached out, gently brushing her hair aside, his touch sending jolts of electrifying waves through her. As he fastened a delicate necklace around her neck, his fingers grazed her skin, leaving a trail of warmth that lingered long after his hands had moved away. She could feel the heat of his breath, each soft exhale a tantalizing promise of the closeness they shared.

She looked at herself and appreciated Hyun-Jin's impeccable choice. The necklace, delicate and elegant, seemed to bind them together in a way that went beyond mere adornment, making her look complete.

Her hand moved to the necklace, tracing its delicate chain as they both looked into the mirror. Their reflections merged into an image of undeniable chemistry, each glance and gesture between them heavy with unspoken words. In that moment, the room seemed to fade away, leaving just the two of them, connected by an unspoken bond that was neither fully understood but both felt deeply.

Hyun-Jin's eyes softened as he whispered, "Perfect."

The intoxicating blend of his scent and the closeness of his body made her question his every move. Was his attentiveness genuine, or was there something more beneath his calm exterior? Yet, as he stepped back, his eyes filled with open appreciation, she found herself dismissing her suspicions. Maybe, just maybe, his intentions were pure, unlike hers.

Soon, the store assistant appeared with a matching handbag and a pair of elegant flats.

Taking the flats from the assistant, Hyun-Jin knelt beside her, his proximity creating an electric tension. His eyes locked onto hers with an intensity that made her pulse quicken.

"I hope you wear something comfortable every time you see me," he murmured. With gentle hands, he lifted her foot, slipping off the heel and replacing it with the flat. The intimacy of his touch sent a shiver down her spine, awakening a sensation she hadn't felt in a long time.

She gazed at him, spellbound by the sight of this powerful man humbling himself before her. In this vulnerable moment, his rugged features softened, adding a layer of allure to his commanding presence. The contrast was captivating, igniting a desire that simmered just beneath the surface.

He saw through her pain, tended to her wounds with a keen awareness. His attentiveness was disarming, melting the walls around her heart and leaving her exposed to the magnetic pull he exerted.

As he rose to his feet, he turned towards the store assistant, "Ring up everything my love has shown interest in," Hyun-Jin instructed before turning to Ha-Na. "I hope you don't mind my taking the liberty to make decisions for you."

"Of course not. The whole mall is practically yours. Buying a few dresses won't make you bankrupt, and I'm not the type to refuse dresses. Besides, I need them since I just returned," she replied, her tone light but genuine. She had left most of her wardrobe behind, and what she had brought back was outdated and need to replace them.

"Good girl," he said.

"But I'm not the type to just take gifts without giving something in return. It's only fair I get you something too," she said, a mischievous smile curling her lips. "Follow me."

"Taking charge, I like it," he said, his eyes gleaming with interest.

They walked to a nearby jewelry store, the atmosphere between them charged with anticipation, while Ha-Min remained back, to collect all the dresses.

Ha-Na led Hyun-Jin to the men's accessories section, where she carefully examined the items on display. Her fingers brushed over various pieces until she found a pair of cufflinks that matched her dress perfectly—silver with a hint of red, elegant and understated.

"These," she said, lifting them up for him to see. "I think they suit you." Saying that, she helps him replace his cufflinks with the ones she chose.

"I hope you won't be shocked to hear the rumors of our engagement in the newspapers tomorrow," she teased, her gaze flicking toward the persistent paparazzi snapping photos outside the store. Since they couldn't breach the doors, they can only speculate theories, which will only fuel the fire of curiosity she intentionally stoked.

The Wangs and the Kangs stood at the apex of societal power, their names synonymous with influence and wealth. With whispers of their burgeoning relationship circulating, the public was eager to decipher if this union hinted at an alliance between two formidable families—an opportunity ripe for the paparazzi to capitalize on.

Hyun-Jin regarded her with a knowing smile, appreciating the game she played with the media. "I like the idea. Maybe we should also look at rings," he suggested, his smirk broadening into a full-fledged grin.

"Maybe we should get our marriage license too," she shot back, a playful challenge in her eyes.

"Well, let's go," he said, his tone turning serious, earning a look of shock from her.

Wait, Is he serious right now?
