Hearing Gabriel's words, Tiffany swallowed hard. Her once-pleading expression became terrified when she saw the coldness in his eyes.

Tiffany failed to recognize that Gabriel would be watching closely for their subliminal cue, which implied that she was to blame for the fall.

"You have been friends with Eveline for some time now; do you not think your silence has hindered her value in your eyes?" Gabriel questioned, remembering how Tiffany stayed silent the entire time her new so-called friend was disparaging Eveline.

Tiffany was dumbfounded and desperately tried to conjure up a lie to convince Gabriel, but the more he scowled at her, the more her mind froze.

Gabriel, on the other hand, felt awful for Eveline because she made friends with someone who did not support her, and this made him question if what Tiffany had said about Eveline in the car was true.
