50% The Walking Dead: Ron Anderson / Chapter 4: leaving

Capítulo 4: leaving

After Olivia kicked him out of the warehouse, Ron hurried back home while hiding the gun he had just stolen. On the way he weighed the implications of what he had just done. He didn't know how Olivia would react when she found out that he had stolen the gun. weapon.

"What am I worried about, he might not even notice if no one mentions it," Ron murmured in self-consolation.

"Even if they find out, they might just take my actions as those of a naughty child," Ron concluded as he continued walking.

Soon Ron reached the street where his house was, however, as he approached, Ron heard screams and sounds of argument coming from his house, followed moments later by the crying of his brother Sam.

Alarmed, Ron rushed to the house and upon entering he found a scene that he thought he would never see again, right in the middle of the living room, his father, still drunk, was hitting his mother while shouting a series of unpleasant insults, His brother Sam was nowhere to be seen but the sound of his crying came from the kitchen letting Ron know where he was,

Upon seeing this scene, something inside Ron's mind turned off as an extreme fury invaded him. Ron ran furiously towards his father and kicked him to the ground. Once Pete was on the ground, Ron rushed at him and began to hit him. relentlessly, unfortunately his body was still injured and malnourished making the force of his blows not as strong as he desired,

A moment of hesitation on Ron's part caused by the pain of his reopening wounds gave Pete enough time to shake the young man off of him and throw him away from him, then, furious at having been knocked down twice by his own son, Pete began. to kick him, the blows soon left Ron dazed and on the verge of unconsciousness.

Seeing the state of her son, Jessie summoned all her strength and stood in the way of her husband in an attempt to defend her son, but he only hit her, sending her to the ground.

Ron, still on the floor, managed to catch his breath just to witness this scene, the fury inside him once again exploded, but this time he did not lunge at Pete since he knew that with his body in the state it was in, he posed no problem. threat against his father, instead, in a moment of desperation, he quickly reached his hand behind his back and grabbed the gun he had just stolen from the warehouse.

Although Ron was aware that the gun was not loaded, he did not have the time to do so and this was perhaps his only way to stop his father.

With the decision made, Ron removed the safety of the gun while pointing it at his father who, upon hearing the noise behind him, turned to face Ron again.

Seeing the gun in the hands of his son, Pete regained some sobriety as panic and fear of death overcame him.

"If you don't want your head blown off you better not move" a beaten and bloody Ron threatened Pete.

"Where..." Pete tried to ask, but was interrupted by his son.

"That has nothing to do with you," Ron assured as his grip on the gun only grew firmer.

"Listen Ron, I don't know where you got the gun from but that's not a toy, someone could get hurt, even your mother or your brother…" Pete tried to persuade Ron but he just looked him straight in the eyes defiantly.

"Although I have never fired a gun, I highly doubt it could miss at this distance," Ron explained, to which Pete could only remain silent. Upon seeing his father finally stop trying to persuade him, Ron walked slowly and stood between Pete and Jessie, putting the latter behind him to keep her safe, then with a signal he called Sam who quickly ran towards his mother.

"Listen Ron, put the gun down, I know your father was wrong, but please put the gun down" Jessie begged, scared by her son's actions.

"Listen mom," Ron interrupted while still pointing his gun at Pete.

"I think you've already realized that Pete and I can't live under the same roof." Ron paused to let his words sink in for his mother.

"I plan to go see Mrs. Deanna and ask her to assign me a house, it doesn't matter if I have to work for it," Ron explained.

"If you want, you and Sam can come with me, I think the three of us can manage to survive in this place" Ron offered "or you can stay here and continue putting up with this idiot" Ron said pointing at his father with his eyes.

Pete seemed furious when he heard Ron's words, however under the threat of the gun he did not have the courage to move, Jessie remained silent when she realized the implications of her son's words.

"What do you decide mother? "Are you going to go with me or stay with Pete?" Ron asked.

"I understand, give me a moment," assimilating her son's words, Jessie stood up and headed upstairs, apparently with the intention of packing her belongings and those of her children.

"Jessie wait! Are you really going to leave? "Do you think it's that easy to survive out there?!!!" Pete shouted in an attempt to stop her, but Jessie just ignored him. Seeing this, the fury inside Pete only increased, but under Ron's watchful gaze she still couldn't muster the courage to move.

"good!!! If that's what you want, fine, get out!! Get out!! "I don't need them," Pete continued with hatred in his words.

"But you should know that when they realize that you can't do anything on your own, you won't be able to come back, even if you beg me," Pete threatened if he didn't know if Jessie had heard him or not.

"Now listen, Father," Ron said hatefully, interrupting Pete.

"I don't give a shit what you do with your life, but from this moment on I want you away from Mom and Sam, understand?" rum threat

"If I ever see you near them the next time, rest assured that it will be the last" he continued looking into Pete's eyes making him shudder with fear as he saw the murderous intent in his son's eyes.

Soon Jessie came down the stairs again, this time with several suitcases full of her belongings and her children's belongings,

"Everything ready, let's go" Jessie said to Ron as she reached his side, then she took Sam's hand and walked towards the door. As she passed Pete she stopped for a moment, as if she were about to say something, but then He finally just shrugged and gave a sad sigh before continuing on his way out of the house.

Ron gave his father one last look before leaving and catching up with his mother and brother and helping them carry their suitcases as they headed toward Deanna's house.

Pete watched them leave and then, in a fit of rage, he began breaking everything within his reach, slamming the walls and doors of the house.

Some neighbors who had looked out their windows shivered in fear as they digested what had happened to the little Anderson family.

After leaving their old house, Ron helped his mother carry some suitcases while the three of them headed in the direction of Deanna's house, on the way, as if it were a tacit agreement, none of the three said a word while each one processed what had just happened.

After walking a few streets, the three of them arrived at Deanna's house, a rather humble place to be the home of the leader of the survivors of the apocalypse, Ron thought as he looked at the house in front of him.

Then, with a mix of fear and determination, he rang the doorbell as he prepared for what was to come.

"One second," a woman's scream was heard from inside, followed by footsteps approaching the door. Then with a small creak of turning the lock, the door opened revealing Deanna, whose expression of warmth quickly transformed into concern as she saw the state of her visitors.

"What happened?" she asked in a voice that denoted a mix of fear and authority.

Jessie, with her gaze fixed on the ground, found no words to respond,

"Can we talk inside?" Ron asked, with the firmness he had forged over the last few hours.

"Please come in," Deanna said, understanding that something serious had happened, and she quickly stepped aside allowing the family to enter the house, then guided them to the living room where everyone took a seat.

"Aiden, can you come for a moment?" Once in the living room, Deanna called her son who quickly came down the stairs.

"What happened?" Aiden asked when he saw the state of Ron and his family.

"Quickly call Pete!" Deanna urged her son, but upon hearing her name, Jessie reacted with visceral fear.

"No, don't call Pete," she said, her voice cracking with fear and urgency.

Realization dawned on Deanna's face, and with a bit of hesitation, she asked, "Was it Pete who did this?"

Jessie nodded scared,

"I see, well then look for Denise, quickly" Deanna asked her son urgently, the young man nodded and hurried out.

Deanna then turned towards Jessie and her family and upon seeing Jessie's trembling body she stood up and headed to the kitchen "let me offer you some tea, it will help you relax your nerves" Deanna said in a calming voice.

After a couple of minutes Deanna returned to the living room and served tea to the three people in her room. Jessie still remained silent, but she took a small sip of tea.

"Tell me, what happened?" Deanna asked, still with a soft and comforting voice, Jessie took a deep breath in an attempt to calm down and after putting her thoughts in order she began to tell him little by little what she and her children had been through in the last 12 hours.

Deanna remained silent as she listened, each word adding weight to her silence.

When Jessie mentioned the gun and how Ron had used it to defend them, Deanna turned to him with a mix of fear and surprise. Ron, understanding her look, pulled out the gun and showed it, then proceeded to remove the clip and show it to Deanna.

"She was always empty," Ron explained. The tension in the room eased slightly.

, but concern was still present in Deanna's eyes.

"How did you get this?" she asked cautiously.

"I just found her." Ron replied, avoiding causing trouble for Olivia.

Deanna reached out her hand to take the gun, but Ron resisted. "I'd rather keep it, in case Pete decides to attack again," Ron said, making Deanna give him a doubtful look.

". Without ammunition, it's harmless." He added rum.

There was a pause as Deanna considered her words. Finally, she nodded, accepting Ron's logic.

After that little interlude Jessie continued her story, and at the end, she expressed her desire to be assigned to a new house.

"Ron suggested coming to see you to ask for a new house." Jessie said, after which she seemed to steel herself and looked directly at Deanna.

"Deanna, could you assign us a new house? Away from Pete. We will work for her, whatever it takes," Jessie said in a pleading tone,

"Don't worry, Jessie. I'll take care of the arrangements. They don't have to work for it; "The important thing now is to tend to your wounds and Ron's." Deanna said in a calming voice.

Deanna, moved by the family's story and bravery, assured that she would make the necessary arrangements.

At that moment, the door to Deanna's house opened to reveal Aiden, her son, followed by a girl with a confused and worried look.

"Hi, Deanna, did you call me? "The girl next to Aiden greeted as she watched what was happening in the room.

"Oh God, what happened to them?" the scared girl shouted when she noticed the state of Ron and Jessie,

"Hello, Denise, can you help them with their injuries?" Deanna asked, ignoring the girl's shock.

"I am a psychiatrist, not a doctor. "Pete would be better for this." Denise responded, still in shock.

Jessie flinched at Pete's name, and Deanna quickly chimed in, "He's a special case. "We want to keep Pete out of this." Deanna explained.

Listening to her, Denise deduced some things, however she was still doubtful about what she should do.

"Please, Denise, at least check Ron's wounds," Jessie begged.

Listening to Jessie, Denise realized that she was possibly the only hope for her mother and son in front of her so after taking a deep breath she decided to do what she could.

"Well, I'll do what I can, but I'm not a doctor." Denise said determinedly and then walked over to check Jessie and Ron's body.

"Jessie's wounds are superficial and she will be fine in a few days, but Ron is in bad shape. He has internal injuries, 2 cracked ribs and a dislocated shoulder. "He needs rest." Denise reported after a thorough review.

The news shocked everyone present, amazed by Ron's resistance, who remained conscious and made no sounds of pain. Denise proceeded to bandage him, covering almost his entire body, and advised him to rest completely for several weeks.

Once Denise had said goodbye and left, Deanna approached Ron, who was lying on the couch, "You were very brave, boy," she congratulated him.

She then turned to Jessie, reaffirming her commitment to taking care of them and promising to talk to Pete to make sure he stayed away from them. Finally, she offered them shelter in her own home while she prepared their new home.
