Capítulo 32: Of Broken Minds and Powers

 On his knees with the weight of all his world behind his eyes. Her every heartbeat was like a pointy stick in her ribcage. Tears began welling up her eyes and she couldn't hold back anger anymore. 

"No…NO!" She yelled at him, surprised none of the other guards ran in to check the situation at the loudness of her shrill yell. Only for a moment was light snuffed out from Paco's eyes, they shone now with a crazed fervor—a bubbling font of unasked for fire. 

"You will have to choose between marrying me and firing me," Paco said, throwing down an ultimatum, lifting the ring higher. Every sensible element in Nelly's brain shook, the library of acceptable standards collapsing.
