Capítulo 70: Chapter 68: Who Has The Bigger Backing?

After the ambulances arrived in front of the school and all the miserable-looking and moaning and groaning delinquents were taken onto the ambulances before the eyes of the entire school, Ian was taken to the teachers' office where he was surrounded and interrogated by the teachers.

The blinds were pulled down to cover the see-through windows of the teachers' office and the only entrance was shut tight. The entire office was soundproof.

No matter how curious and scared the rest of the students were, they couldn't see or hear what was going on inside the office.

This was a huge matter. Not one, not two, but nineteen children from rich and powerful families who donate to the school were severely injured and crippled. Their future recovery unknown.

Something like this had never happened before since the founding of S High School.

No matter how much these privileged kids bullied others weaker than them, they never took it as far as Ian. At least when it came to physical harm. Though the amount of mental harm they dealt to their victims… it was intangible.

But most people never look at the harm caused to the bullied victims mentally, because it was not visible. Only the blatant, gruesome sight of the physical ills stings the eyes that cannot pretend not to see it.

What the eye doesn't see, the heart cannot suffer.

But that only applies to bystanders and not the victim involved.

What the eye doesn't see, the heart bleeds over.

"Student Ian."

"Yes?"

"Do you have any idea of the seriousness of the incident you have caused?"

"No."

"…Student Ian, you could have killed them."

"But I didn't. They are still alive and breathing." Unfortunately. What a pity. Ian thought and kept the last bit to himself.

"That's not how things work. With your family background, you can't cover up an incident as serious as this! Do you understand?! The families of the students you beat up are very powerful, they have both connections and money, and together, they are a force to be reckoned with! They'll destroy your life without mercy!" Apparently, the teachers had also heard about the rumors going on around school and assumed that Ian was from a low family background because he was in the special class where there were only poor and middle-class students.

"Although we believe you are in the wrong, we also don't want such an excellent genius student like you to waste away your talents in a jail at such a young age." After all, the brighter the students of the special class shines, the more they benefit as a part of the school.

"Go and apologize to their families and make amends. Maybe it'll lessen their anger and they won't sue you or urge for your expulsion."

The teachers good-heartedly tried to persuade Ian.

Ian, however, didn't care.

"Oh, come on. It's not like I ripped out their tongue or poked out their eyes. I didn't even chop off their fingers or tear apart their limbs. It's just that their bones broke and they bled a little, big deal." Ian rolled his eyes.

As if still under the influence of the savage fight, his words and the way he spoke were roguish and heartless, carrying a twisted, vicious feeling.

Not even a shred of his normal gentle and polite persona could be seen in the teenager with light purple eyes.

"…"

Speechless, the teachers did not know what to say. This student was simply incorrigible! And remembering his cruel hand… suddenly, the teachers wanted to get out of the room.

"It's no use talking about it. Why don't we call their parents? We have yet to inform any of their families about this incident." Suddenly, Teacher Qiu interrupted the tense silence and suggested.

"Ah! That's right! I completely forgot!"

"Right! Right! Let's call them now!"

Then all the teachers scrambled to their telephones and dialed in the numbers of the hospitalized students.

"Who'll call student Ian's guardian?"

"I'll do it," Teacher Qiu said and went to his work desk.

Within an hour, all the parents of the delinquents arrived at S High School, all of them fuming and disgruntled with the terrible news they had been informed of.

The parents stormed into the school building and kicked open the closed office door.

"Parents, parents, calm down!" The principal, who went to receive them, tried to persuade the furious parents, but they weren't having any of it. 'He's not someone you guys can provoke!' However, the principal knew in his heart, unlike the teachers, that even with the combined powers of these families here today, they had no chance against Ian's older brother who was literally the king of their province. In fact, if he let Ian suffer even the slightest scratch before the other gets here, his head will no longer be on his neck!

Although the parents of the injured students are no joke either.

The principal gulped. He was stuck between a boulder and a hard place. What a mess!

He just wanted to make this school renown and be the top high school in the nation! Why was this happening to him?!

The principal cried inwardly but dared not show any of his inner conflict outside.

He still attempted to persuade the parents to calm their anger. If it still doesn't work, he can only pull out Ian's brother card, anyways they were going to see the powerful figure in a while.

"Speed up," Angus's cold voice was without a hint of warmth, only urgency could faintly be detected in the undercurrents.

"Yes, boss!" The driver speeded up the car just as Angus commanded. Their young master was in trouble at school after all. This hadn't happened since middle school!

Since S High School was full of the privileged and the influential, young master Ian must have gotten into trouble with those stuck up arrogant brats! And arrogant and unbearable as those brats are, they have powerful backings as well, and their backings will roast young master Ian without a second thought because of their wounded pride!

His master must get there soon!

Thinking like this, the driver stepped hard on the gas pedal, driving through the lanes like a car racer.

"Who is the beggarly little brat that hurt our sons!" The teachers' office's door was slammed open from the outside. The wooden door banged harshly against the brick wall covered with a solid white paint coat.

The entire room seemed to shake from the impact.

"It's me," Ian calmly replied with a gentle and polite smile.

The chair he sat on was a common one, made of light metal, hard and uncomfortable to sit on for long periods of time. This was actually an uncommon chair for students to sit on—it only goes to show that the teachers were already punishing him to some extent.

But the currently mad and irrational parents couldn't care less about that insignificant and negligent detail.

However, what did surprise them and halt their anger for a moment was the sight of Ian sitting on that very chair they themselves would never stoop so low as to sit on.

With his arms to the sides of his body and his hands folded neatly on top of his lap, his legs straight and bent at a 90 degree angle at the knee, his back square and dignified, his neck and chin lifted—neither condescending nor submissiven—, his eyes stared straight at the newcomers.

A noble elegance spread from his body, it drifted in the air and landed in the hearts of the viewers. Even the ubiquitous school uniform on his body that was worn by every student in the school, students like these parents' children, cannot conceal the noble blood flowing through his veins and the gracefulness ingrained into his body from birth.

He was born and raised in a position of power and influence, and it showed through his every action. The look in his eyes, the posture his body habitually takes on, and his attitude towards others that seem humble and respectful in truth hid his indifference and alienation.

The sight of such a student that could no longer be called a student stunned the unexpected parents in place.

'This child… is a student here?'

Their gaze suddenly drifted and landed on the purple band around Ian's arm and they also spotted the special class pin on his chest pocket.

Their brains twitched and they forgot all about the guess that this student might be from a powerful family they couldn't afford to offend. Anyway, with so many of them here, they shouldn't be afraid of anyone! Unless the top brass of the country comes, they're not afraid of anyone who gets in their way!

Besides, since this student was in the special class, he was obviously a commoner they can crush with a casual finger.

Soon their anger resurfaced.

Just thinking that this poor pretty boy before them was the culprit that caused their children to be sent to the hospital where they'll be hospitalized for a while had the parents' blood boiling. All the previous amazement and admiration of such a talent instantly turned into hatred and resentment, a grievous grudge formed in their hearts against Ian.

The adults made up their minds to give this boy a piece of their mind and demand for his expulsion from school. In this way, his spotless record would be stained and he'll have a hard time getting into a decent school, let alone have a good life from now on!

They planned on ruining his future!

Unable to tell right from wrong, the parents charged inside the office and pointed their fingers at a calm and indifferent Ian.

"Where are your parents?! Why are they not here yet?!"

"How did they raise such a savage little thing like you?! You look so proper but underneath your skin is a monster!"

"I'll have you know that I intend to sue you for the damage you've done to my son, both mentally and physically! Oh my poor child! What did he do wrong to meet a freak like you?!"

"You won't be getting away with anything!"

"We'll make sure you get thrown in jail for your crimes!"

"Just wait for it!"

They shrieked and croaked like shrews instead of the powerful and wealthy figures they identify as.

One of the parents was so worked up that she went forward and raised her hand and slapped Ian.

Thankfully, the principal caught her hand and stopped her before she succeeded.

"Talk it out but don't use your hands, Mrs. Gao! Talk it out!" The principal persuaded the struggling Mrs. Gao who tried to take her wrist out from the principal's grip, her desire to hit Ian still very strong despite the principal's discouragement.

"Let go of me! How dare you treat me like this for this little imp?! Wait till my husband hears about this! You're done for! How dare you stop me from teaching this unruly brat a lesson!" Mrs. Gao shouted and cursed in high spirits, her facial expression was vicious and fierce.

'Oh my ancestors, if only you know I'm trying to save you!' The principal sweat dropped another bucket of sweat. 'Mr. Everett, when are you coming?! I can't hold out much longer against their firepower!"

As if answering the principal's desperate prayer, a bunch of footsteps sounded in the hallway as well as gasps and exclamations of astonishment and shock from students.

It was unknown when a train of black cars were parked in front of the school, forming a straight line.

Out from the car were countless men in black looking serious and solemn, looking like they were not easy to mess up.

A prominent figure came out from the car in the center of the encirclement and under the escort of the men in black, he entered the school building.

Unlike the rowdy fuss the angry parents created when they arrived, although the men in black were twice or even thrice more in number than the parents who came, they were silent and wordless. It was as though only one person appeared rather than a crowd.

Walking through the halls, the students in the classrooms and outside in the halls gasped in amazement and thrilling fear they felt from the sight of the dashing older man surrounded by countless strong and trained bodyguards.

The man in the center had cold facial features and a headful of dark purple hair that appeared blue with tints of lighter blue as the gaze moved down his short hair. A beauty mark adorned his icy face that did not serve to soften his features at all, instead, it brought out his beauty overshadowed by the frost of his gaze and radiated a sense of untouchableness to others.

His honey-orange vertically-slit eyes narrowed, giving a glimpse of his true emotions.

Churning anger.

Irrepressible wrath.

'How dare someone bully my little brother!'

Stopping near the office door, Angus gestured for his men to stay and gave a glance to one of his men.

Receiving the signal, a serious-looking man in black stepped forward, stretched out his hand, and pushed.

Baanng!

The sound of a door slamming against a wall, volumes louder and jaggering than when the parents inside did it, shocked everyone in the office with a heart attack.

Crack. Bang. Plop.

The wall seemed to have been broken on the inside. When the door swung back slightly from the rebound, the revealed part of the wall looked sunken in with slight cracks running around like spiderwebs.

The parents were so shocked and frightened that their breath left them and human words seemed beyond their reach.

Suddenly, one of the parents shouted angrily, "How rude and arrogant! Do you have any idea who I am! Is this how you apologize for the wrong actions of your family's child?!"

The rest of them also came back to their senses from the shock.

They guessed that it must be Ian's parents or guardians who arrived. After all, who else can raise such a violent child unless they were violent and brash themselves?!

Suddenly, all the parents found a new outlet for their anger despite the slight discrepancy and unsettlement they felt in their hearts from seeing how unexpectedly nice this guardian was dressed and that strong and fierce looking man in black beside him.

They turned their enraged bodies and their undivided attention to the new arrivals.

Ian smiled upon seeing this. How stupidly amusing…
