Eiravyne couldn't quite recall when she had drifted off, but as she blinked her eyes open, the remnants of sleep lingered in her mind. 

The rhythmic motion of the carriage and the warmth enveloping her drew her attention, and she immediately looked up at Urag, who was still holding her securely in his arms. 

The realization struck her that he must have used his powers to coax her into a deep slumber for the entirety of their journey. 

With a soft groan, she rubbed her face to dispel the remnants of drowsiness, feeling a tinge of annoyance bubbling inside her. 

The carriage swayed gently as it rolled down the winding road, the sound of wheels crunching against gravel filling the air. 

Confused about how they had even acquired the carriage, she suddenly felt a surge of irritation at the intimate position they were in—her head resting on his lap, his strong arms wrapped protectively around her.
