"What's going on?" Colt asked Jiraiya in a low voice.
When he came here, he was thinking this old man might have had some tasks for him.
But then, it seemed like he met the two Hokage counselors… Also, why was the current atmosphere a little strange?
"Nothing much, just some good news for you," Jiraiya smiled slyly.
"Kamiyo Colt, would you like to be the Fifth Hokage of Konoha?" Homura Mitokado asked very seriously.
Colt despite guessing this from the current events, was startled. Him, the Fifth Hokage?
Homura sighed, looked at Colt, and continued:
"Now that Konoha is in ruins, the village urgently needs a Hokage to calm people's hearts. Our initial candidate was Jiraiya."
"But Jiraiya recommended you, and Hiruzen valued you greatly during his lifetime, as he was clearly grooming you as his successor."
Homura sighed again. "Although your age and qualifications are lacking, we can't be too picky during these special circumstances. I called you here today just to hear your thoughts."
Colt frowned and looked at Jiraiya.
'So, you're the one who sold me out?'
In truth, Colt wasn't opposed to being Hokage. Fame and fortune were best enjoyed while young. Now that he had the strength, he should also get the status he deserved. Otherwise, how would anyone know he was awesome?
However, being Hokage now was definitely not what Colt wanted. Although the Third was gone, the two elders and Danzo before him were still watching closely. Even if he became Hokage, he'd be restrained by them.
Colt wasn't Tsunade, and his prestige in the village couldn't compare at all. Unless he directly eliminated the three old men and suppressed all dissent with an iron fist. Or he could also become another Minato Namikaze.
Instead, he had the plan of letting Tsunade return to pave the way for him and finally take over comfortably. Wouldn't that be awesome?
After working through this logic, Colt was ready to refuse.
"Actually..."
"I object!" The door was violently pushed open as Danzo walked in using his crutch.
"Homura, Koharu, I think you've lost your minds. How can you hand over the Hokage position to such an inexperienced brat?"
While speaking, he glanced at Colt with clear disdain.
Homura and Koharu's faces also turned ugly.
One of them responded.
"Then, Danzo, who do you think should be chosen? Jiraiya?"
"Don't drag me into this, I won't do it," Jiraiya immediately refused.
Danzo's eyes lit up in anger.
'Me, pick me!'
'You two old fools are blind; Can't you see a great man like me right here?' Danzo roared frantically in his mind, but he couldn't say it out loud.
He had to target Colt again.
"Kamiyo Colt, do you think you're worthy of the position of the Hokage? Young people should be ambitious, but not so much."
"Also, where did your Sharingan come from?"
At this point, he deeply regretted not forcing Colt to leave the Third's side earlier.
Even if it meant killing him. He never expected the civilian genius he looked down on would not only have the Senju bloodline but also the Sharingan.
Very quickly, he became the obstacle preventing him from becoming Hokage.
Colt smiled and said, "Who are you? Are you someone I should know about? You don't look like it…"
Jiraiya's face flushed as he tried not to laugh out loud.
"You!" Danzo was about to explode in anger, but he held back.
In the village, his reputation wasn't as prominent as the Third's and the two elders'. Colt was just a Genin, so it was impossible for him to know Danzo's identity.
"This old man is the leader of Root. Someone like you of course doesn't deserve to know my status."
"Oh~" Colt said in sudden realization, "I heard the Third mention there's a special Root team in the ANBU."
Danzo groaned his expression furious.
This was indeed true - technically, Root did belong to the ANBU. But Root had always followed his own leadership, completely outside of the ANBU's jurisdiction. Even after being disbanded by the Third, the seals on his people's tongues hadn't been lifted.
Unexpectedly, Colt's expression changed as he yelled:
"You're just an ANBU squad leader, what are you doing lecturing me, a Hokage candidate!"
"Pfft!" Jiraiya finally couldn't hold it in anymore and shook with suppressed laughter.
"You!" This time, Danzo's hand shook with rage. How many years had it been since anyone dared to talk to him like this?
Homura and Koharu's faces twitched. This kid really had the guts to say that, but from his perspective, there was actually nothing wrong with what he said. They couldn't blame him for anything.
In the end, Koharu stepped in to introduce Danzo's true identity. Only then did Colt snort coldly and stopped paying attention to Danzo.
"Anyway, I never said I wanted to be the Hokage. I'm still too young and need more experience."
As soon as he said this, Koharu and Homura felt much more goodwill towards Colt. Such a humble young man was indeed suitable to be a Hokage.
If Colt knew their thoughts, he would definitely laugh out loud. Hadn't he chosen to appear weak to avoid this simple and petty power struggle?
Even Danzo's gaze towards Colt softened a bit.
"Kid, if you don't become the Hokage, no one else is suitable. I was wrong about you."
Jiraiya grew anxious.
Colt glanced at him. "I remember, there should be another Sannin..."
Hearing this, everyone except Danzo's eyes lit up.
That's right! How could they forget about her?
If it was her, not only would the current chaos in Konoha be quickly sorted out, but she could even take the village to new heights. And when it came to medical ninjutsu, who could compare to her?
"Yeah, why did I forget about her?" Jiraiya smiled.
"Hmph, do you even know where she is?" Danzo poured cold water on their enthusiasm.
As long as Tsunade didn't return, he could still be the Hokage!
"I remember hearing on a mission before that the 'Legendary Sucker' was seen near Tanzaku Town. She should still be in that area."
Just as everyone was contemplating, Colt casually shattered Danzo's fantasy again.
In truth, how could he know where Tsunade was if hadn't seen the original? But he knew that this time Jiraiya would definitely be able to bring Tsunade back.
Jiraiya's eyes lit up.
"That's right, Tsunade will definitely be frequenting the casinos. If we follow that line of thinking, we'll find her sooner or later!"
The two elders were also convinced and looked at each other. "Without further ado, this task is up to you, Jiraiya."
"No problem, but I'm taking a certain two people with me."
After speaking, he looked at Colt mischievously.

Ultimately, the two advisers agreed to Jiraiya's request and choice of escorts.
In two days, he would take Naruto and Colt out of the village to find Tsunade together.
Danzo, seeing that the matter was settled, left without a word.
He certainly hadn't given up his obsession with becoming the Hokage. If Tsunade didn't return, or if something was revealed, he'd emerge like a grim lion to deliver a fatal blow and take what was his.
"I get why you're taking Naruto, but why bring me along?" Colt asked on the way back, feeling a bit unhappy.
He hadn't spent much time with Hinata and Ino in the month before the exam, and then he'd been busy with the rebuilding of the village and the hospital work. Just when he finally had some free time, Jiraiya was dragging him off to do more work.
The pervy sage, seeing his annoyed expression rubbed the back of his head in embarrassment.
"Haha, it'll be hard for me to convince Tsunade to come back by myself. Your identity can play a big role," Jiraiya explained.
With Colt's connection to Kamiyo Mieko, plus the suspected awakening of the Senju bloodline in him, Jiraiya was pretty sure they could bring Tsunade back to Konoha once she knew. As her friend for decades, he knew too well what his old classmate was missing.
Hearing this, Colt didn't argue any further.
"That makes sense…"
He decided to just go along with it, as he was somewhat interested in meeting the medical ninja who was considered to be the number one in the world.
Seeing Colt agree, Jiraiya smiled happily. If Colt had been unwilling, he really wouldn't have known what to do.
After they parted ways, Colt returned home.
"[Healer's Benevolence System], receive the mission's rewards," he said.
After so many busy days, he finally had time to sort out his gains.
[Congratulations to the Host for his outstanding performance in the Konoha Crush Plan, saving a large number of lives and earning a total of 10,235 points as a reward.]
Over 10,000 points were indeed within Colt's expectations.
In that battle, he'd killed no less than a hundred ninjas, as well as several huge Summoning beasts, which were definitely worth the points.
But that wasn't all. In the following days, he'd received nearly 20,000 points for treating Konoha's wounded.
[Points: 58,369]
Looking at his accumulated points, a flash of joy crossed Colt's face.
He could finally do what he had been anxious for.
"[Healer's Benevolence System], exchange for the Chakra seeds of the Nine-Tailed Beasts."
In an instant, fifty-seven thousand points disappeared, replaced by nine different Chakras that silently merged into his body.
A strange feeling washed over him.
Colt felt his pores opening all over his body, and he relaxed for a moment.
Upon careful sensing, he realized the nine Chakras had completely integrated with his own, and they were still growing.
This was different from being a Jinchūriki.
While a Jinchūriki could use the power of the tailed beast if they were in sync, the two remained distinct. The Chakra of the Jinchūriki was still their own, and the Chakra of the tailed beast remained separate.
But Colt had completely transformed the power of the nine-tailed beasts into his own. Thus, it would be more comfortable and natural to use.
Now he could be called a Ten Tails fledgling.
However, what Colt had bought were just Chakra seeds, and it would take time for them to grow to their peak state.
Colt sensed that his body was beginning to undergo some subtle changes, though they weren't immediately obvious.
While this exchange hadn't affected his current strength, the future potential was unimaginable.
For the next step, Colt already had a plan in mind.
Blending the Nine-Tails Chakra didn't mean he was equivalent to the Ten-Tails yet – he was missing a key component: the Gedo Statue.
While he could use the chakra of these tailed beasts as if it was his own, the ten tails was a fusion of them all, and that needed the statue.
Both Obito and Uchiha Madara had to use the Gedo Statue to use the power of the tailed beasts and become the Ten-Tails Jinchūriki themselves.
Colt planned to exchange for a brand-new Gedo Statue of his own.
However, looking at the 30,000 redemption points needed in the store, he'd have to wait for now.

In the Akatsuki base cave, several shadowy figures had gathered. Their bodies weren't physically present, but through a jutsu activated by the rings on their hands, they could communicate across vast distances.
Pain, the leader, said indifferently.
"We're all here. Let's start today's meeting."
Deidara asked, surprised, "Are we not waiting for Hidan?"
"Today's matter isn't urgent. If someone is not here, then they're not here," Pain replied, his tone unchanged.
"I've just received news that Orochimaru and Sunagakure failed to deal any massive damage to Konoha. The Fourth Kazekage was assassinated, and the Third Hokage was killed."
"I need some of you to go to Konoha and check on the Nine-Tails Jinchūriki."
After Pain briefly introduced the purpose of the meeting, he waited for everyone to speak.
Itachi opened his eyes, revealing a pair of scarlet Sharingans.
A trace of unease flashed in his heart. With the Third Hokage dead, no one knew about his deal with the old man. Sasuke had also lost his protection.
Would Danzo...
"I'll go," Itachi said.
This time, Pain was a little surprised.
Although Itachi usually completed the tasks assigned to him by the organization, he never volunteered for any tasks.
Usually, it was Hidan's group that was more eager.
Itachi's expression remained calm. "Kisame and I happen to be in the Land of Fire. It's more convenient."
Kisame grinned and added, "Exactly. I also want to see what Itachi-san's hometown looks like."
Seeing that both of them agreed, Pain assigned the task to them.
This mission was just for information gathering. There was no need to capture the Nine-Tails Jinchūriki yet.
The sealing of the tailed beasts had to be carried out in order, otherwise the difficulty would greatly increase.
When the right time came, it would be the day when the Akatsuki organization would bare its fangs to the world.
After discussing the matter, Pain dismissed the meeting.
Itachi's consciousness returned to his body, and his eyes looked in the direction of Konoha.
"Sasuke, I wonder how you're faring," he thought.
Kisame had been observing Itachi's expression and asked tentatively, "Itachi-san, it seems you have another purpose for returning to the village, right?"
Although he was Itachi's partner and respected him, Kisame was also a member of the organization and would deliver any information to Madara and Pain.
Itachi was well aware of this and gave his explanation: "I just want to see how my brother is growing up. After all, I still need him to test my abilities."
It sounded reasonable and convincing.
Kisame didn't ask any more questions, and the two set off towards Konoha.
