"Well, fuck" I thought to myself as I stared at literally the worst-case scenario right now. The whole entire fucking four tails in its whole entire fucking glory. This was just some bullshit. There was nothing in his files, or history that recorded that a move like this was even possible, and beyond that, even something he'd ever resort to. There were records of fights between Han and Roshi, and Minato from the third war and even when he ran circles around them, never once did they transform into their full tailed beast forms. There was only one perfect jinchuriki out there, and if Iwa had one of their own. Then they'd have started the next war with Konoha much earlier. And if Roshi had the power to transform into the fucking Yonbi, where had he been during the Konoha invasion? These were just some of the completely irrelevant thoughts that took over my mind as I turned tail and fucking ran.
They said panic cleared the mind, that fear made it easy to focus on only one thing. I guess my brain didn't get the message, hitting a million and one thoughts at once as I felt myself go from wondering about where Roshi had been hiding a trump card like this to commenting on the colouring of the Yonbi as it jumped clear in the air and landed in front of me with a snarl on its face.
"You're very red, Yonbi-san" My mouth said before I could control it, and bless his soul, when the monkey opened its mouth it was to laugh and not Bijudama me out of existence. Fuck, fuckity, fuck. And to make things worse, with my improved chakra sensing, I could feel the strong chakra presence that just entered my range. Anyone with even a modicum of ability would have felt the Gobi Jinchuriki as it stepped into the Village perimeter. If Roshi had shone like the sun, Han was a fucking supernova. He was fucking everywhere. Nothing compared to the Nuclear Reactor in front of me, but the fact that I could feel his chakra even in the presence of the Yonbi told me all that I needed to know.
"That was one free one, brat. Next time you call me that, I'll blow you to dust. The name is Son Goku, nothing else" It said, not saying any more. Of course, it wasn't. It probably didn't honestly give a fuck about whatever I could come up with to either escape or beat it. It was so comfortably above me on the scale, in its estimation, that it was fine just laughing and talking to me.
"I've missed this air, y'know. It can get really stuffed up in that cage." It said, stepping back and beginning to stretch, just enjoying its freedom. I could honestly imagine what Kitsuchi was thinking now. He'd brought Roshi in to secure his village or prepare for war or whatever, and now that same trump card was going to burn down Iwa. In much the same way the Kyubi hadn't needed much incentive to attack Konoha, I was sure the Yonbi considered it his solemn duty to ensure that all that remained of Iwa was slag.
The beast stomped its right foot down once, and it was all I could do to transform my feet into sand and fly upwards. Where I'd stood, there was nothing but lava. Not just where I stood, the entire block Roshi and I had been fighting in. "I agreed to kill you in exchange for Roshi ceding control, and I'll get on that, but only after I have my fun" He said. And then he stomped his foot again, making the lava rise and encircle him for a few seconds before exploding outwards, landing on a building blocks away.
I hoped none of my ninja got caught up in that. At this point, my mission was an uncontroverted success. The bulk of Iwa's forces had been converging on my position since my fight with Kitsuchi began. Now that the Yonbi was out and about, even those elements that hadn't bothered to approach were now committed either to civilian evacuation or attacking the Yonbi. Needless to say, those who took the latter path didn't get much time to regret their decisions.
There was something about the way the Yonbi fought. It wasn't malice or rage, it was just a calm flow, one move bleeding into the next. Every movement he made killed dozens, but he somehow managed to make it look like it wasn't personal. I saw why he called himself the Monkey sage now. He was something else. Some fool part of me wondered what I'd be able to achieve if I had him as a tailed beast instead of the Ichibi. _Along with_, another traitorous part of my body whispered. I actually considered it. Two tailed beasts. I already had a compatible affinity with fire release and earth release on the table for me. Along with that, I could already visualise all the improvements I'd need to make to be able to accommodate a second tenant with my body. Gamer's body would even help in that it would manage to prevent me from actually crippling myself if things did go wrong.
The worst that could happen is that it just wouldn't work. But on the other hand, I had to think about the possible downsides that would come with it even if it did succeed. My chakra control would be shot to all seven hells. The recovery time would also be something else. Not medically, but returning all my skills. I also had no idea how the One tails and the Four tails would react to inhabiting my body together. Even sealing it would be an immense bother. I had no idea if I could manage to keep a clone active while having that kind of upheaval with my chakra network. If the clone popped halfway through then the Yonbi would be unleashed, then I'd be a very dead man. And finally, and perhaps most notably, I had no way to take out the fucking Beast of mass destruction. None that I could think of right now, at least.
I should escape. I probably should just call it a day with my mission accomplished and fly off into the sunset with all the things I needed. But I was greedy. Even though I knew it was stupid, I wanted the fucking Yonbi for myself. I wanted sage mode, and who better than the fucking monkey sage to teach me. My body had been unconsciously salivating for this fight. I could feel it. I could tell as many lies to myself as I wanted to, but the truth of the matter was that I relished the challenge. Beyond it all, I wanted to fucking fight.
Mind made up, my legs became legs beneath me, rested on a sand platform I created with sand from my inventory. Sand manipulation was going to be next to useless against this creature. It was my natural counter in plenty of ways. But that also made it the worst opponent to be faced with me right now. It wouldn't get the vanilla and boring shit. It wasn't going to be fought in tried and true ways. No, I'd have to get inventive. And that would be fun for me, but so fucking painful for it.
"Prepare yourself, Yonbi" I shouted, staring right down at it.
"You dare?" Its roar nearly knocked me off the platform.
"I'm cominggggg" I screamed as I jumped down, heading right for it. I didn't do it unconsciously, but I could feel it form of its accord. Everyone who looked at me as I dropped must have thought me to be insane. I was smiling. Bright as could be. From ear to ear.
XXXXXX- TEMARI
"What the fuck is he doing?" She heard her brother curse behind her as they watched from a rooftop, miles away. The rest of the team had separated across the village and with Gaara basically drawing every ninja above the rank of Genin to his position or to react to his actions in one way or the other, the rest of the mission was going perfectly.
More than perfectly, in fact. They'd been given the mission of capturing two users of the explosion release and stealing some worms or whatever from the Kage tower, and they already had four users sealed up in scrolls.
"We can't worry about that. Trust Kazekage-sama to know what he is doing and focus on the mission" Ebizo-sensei said to both of them before he jumped to the next rooftop. They'd all stopped what they were doing the second the fucking four-tails appeared on the scene, with his bloodlust stopping everyone in their tracks, but now their Sensei seemed to have got over it completely.
"He's fighting the four-tails" Kankuro hissed back at their sensei as he jumped right after him. She followed next. The only reason they managed to remain undetected was the stealth seals applied to the bags they wore that allowed them to communicate but prevented anyone else from hearing them. They also erased their scents, and sounds from the environment, while applying a small chameleon effect that made them difficult to spot when their enemies weren't paying attention. That was why they'd been able to take all four members from an explosion corps team without anyone even being any the wiser.
"He's fulfilling his part of the mission. He's causing a distraction to allow the rest of us to move unhindered. I assure you that none of the other teams are sitting around watching him fight. Our Kazekage is doing his job, leading and being the tip of the spear. I would not want to make that all for nothing by failing in my own comparatively easier mission" Ebizo-sensei said. I nodded along with his words, trying to bury the lump of worry that came with the territory of watching your brother dive right at a giant creature of rage and malice with the power to wipe out a whole Ninja village.
"Now, pay attention. This is the hard part" He said before he bent his knees at the last rooftop and jumped straight onto the Tsuchikage's tower. Her landed on the glass with no sound, and both her and Kankuro followed his lead.
Kankuro wasted no time in opening his bag and taking out the lock picking set Gaara had placed in it. Out of the box came a simple circular wooden puck that was lined with seals on every visible part of it. He placed it on the glass, and it stuck. When he gestured for them to join him as he moved backwards, she and Ebizo-sensei did not hesitate. A single handset later and the seals flashed for a second before the circular device began to do its job. She watched as a circle, large enough for all of them to squeeze through one at a time, began to be drawn on the glass with the puck at the centre.
Kankuro breathed out for a second, and the glass in the circle just disappeared, seemingly erased from existence. Kankuro caught the falling puck and dove insides. She and Ebizo followed suit. Their map of the Tsuchikage tower was over a decade old already, but still, they could recognise where they were and knew where to go next. "Gaara was right" Kankuro said with a chuckle before he followed Ebizo-sensei's lead and began walking across the room. She brought up the rear, looking backwards every few seconds to make sure they weren't being followed or watched.
It took them less than five minutes to make it to the vault. "Follow my lead and don't touch anything," Ebizo-sensei reminded them. A bit needlessly in her opinion, as that was precisely what they'd been doing since the beginning of the mission. Gaara had made them swear to before letting them on the mission, after all.
For the vault, it was blocked off by a steel door that looked to be at least several inches thick. It wasn't something that the average Ninja could break through. When Ebizo-sensei walked closer, and they followed, she could make out the seals on it. She could see the circles that marked them out as Uzumaki seals. Each seal began with a spiral that led into the next and into the next. It was beautiful, just like Gaara had said. "When the rest of the world was stumbling in the dark, our ancestors made art," She heard Kankuro whisper. It was his voice, but they were Gaara's words. She agreed. She didn't have Kankuro's talent for fuinjutsu. She didn't learn it instantly the way Kankuro and Gaara could, but she still knew enough to know this was beauty. Fuinjutsu was in her blood, after all. Their birthright, Gaara called it.
"Can you open it?" Ebizo-sensei asked, and Kankuro's scoff in reply was expected. Even Ebizo-sensei cracked a smile at it. Since Gaara started teaching him, there was nothing Kankuro took more pride in than his fuinjutsu skills.
"They stole this. It wasn't theirs to steal, and it definitely wasn't made for them" Kankuro said. "They managed to copy it, probably from a vault in the ruins of Uzushio, but they didn't understand it. Not truly. I don't even need to break it. It was made for me to open" Kankuro said, walking forwards and placing a hand on it. She wanted to advise caution, but it was all for naught. The seal glowed for a second or two, and then it fell open right before their eyes.
"Their seal masters had some talent for at least managing to copy this. But not enough to get rid of the automatic override. Any Uzumaki could open this just by placing their chakra against it" He explained to them. She nodded, and followed him as he walked in. This time, it was the shocked Ebizo that brought up the rear. When they entered, it was to a sight they'd expected, but was still no less surprising. They'd recently begun to expand the mining in the mountains that made up their border with Tsuchi no kuni, but even then, they were already finding gold in droves. Of course, here that it's been happening for centuries, they'd have lots more. Iwa's vault was overflowing with gold bars. There was probably more gold in this vault than the Daimyo of Kaze no Kuni had ever seen in his life.
"To sit on wealth like this" Ebizo-sensei commented with scorn.
"Well they won't have it for long" She replied and got to work, taking out the scrolls from her bag.
She could already see the worms that Gaara had asked for deeper in the vault and sine Kankuro was moving for it, she might as well do her bit. Gaara did say they should feel free to empty out the vault if they had the time and from what she could hear, they'd have more than enough time to do as they wished.
XXXXXX- SUBAKU NO GAARA
The Yonbi paid no attention to me as I dove towards him. No attention at all, and that changed in seconds. I gathered the winds in my hands and forced them to obey my will as I fell right at him. By the time he looked up, it was too late. I landed right on his left shoulder and planted my hands downwards, cutting rents into his flesh. Disappointedly enough, the cuts didn't go nearly as deep as I expected them to. Still, the scream of pain I got was well worth it. The Yonbi moved to dislodge me, and I happily jumped off his shoulder to land on a brand-new sand platform.
"You'll pay for that" It screamed to the heavens. The winds from his voice threatened to send me flying, but a quick assertion of chakra made them bend right around me, falling into my control with no hesitation.
I had three affinities; wind, earth, and fire. When it came to the latter two, I had no doubts that the Yonbi had me comprehensively beat in those regards. That left only my wind release on the table. I couldn't make fire hot enough to burn a creature that took baths in lava, and whatever earth release I would have attempted was easily invalidated by the fact that much of the ground around us was literally lava. In the same way as he could turn my sand to lava at will, he could do the same with the earth release I'd attempt. It wasn't just my nature releases that were, for the most part, taken off the table by the Yonbi's very presence. My taijutsu and Kenjutsu that I spent hours working on daily were useless. No matter how sharp I made _Dark Sister_ by channelling wind release into her, she'd never cut deeply enough to do any damage. It was like trying to kill a human with a toothpick, except a thousand times harder because of his tough armour like fur, and the fact that his skin had a leathery quality to it even behind the fur.
Fuinjutsu was similarly useless until I could find a useful receptacle to use in placing the seals on his person. It was going to be a bitch and a half to hijack the seal already in place, but I had an idea or two that could prove useful at the end of the day. But only after I managed to weaken the Yonbi enough. All those thoughts flashed through my mind in less than a second as the Yonbi reached out for me with his hand to swat me out of the sky and my sand platform carried me well out of his grip.
Placing my hand in front of me, I bent my chakra and the wind around me to my will in record time. The rasenshurinken announced its presence on the battlefield with a telltale whine. "Let's go" I said with a smile, getting more ideas added to my arsenal for ways to deal with the worst-case scenario.
