Capítulo 162: Cold-Blooded Kakashi

Shikaku and Shintaro chatted for a long time, playing shogi as they talked.

They played a total of three matches, all ending in a draw.

Shikaku remarked meaningfully, "Shintaro, your shogi skills have improved again."

Shintaro waved his hand and said, "I used to win a few matches, but now I can't win even one."

Shikaku didn't commit to an answer but silently complained to himself, "This is terrible."

Shintaro looked at the sky outside the window, then said goodbye, "It's about time. I need to go to the ANBU to pick someone up after work."

"ANBU?"

Shikaku showed a thoughtful expression, but he quickly found the answer.

"You mean Hatake Kakashi?"

"That's right." Shintaro nodded.

Shikaku sighed, "What happened to Kakashi is something many grown ninjas couldn't bear."

He then looked at him and said, "That's good. With you as his friend, Kakashi certainly won't make the same mistake as the White Fang."

Shintaro said, "The death of the White Fang is Konoha's regret. I won't let that regret happen again."

"Carry on."

Shikaku nodded.

Shintaro left the house, said goodbye to Yoshino, and then arrived at the ANBU headquarters gate.

By now, the sky was getting dark, and the ANBU was about to finish work.

If there were no missions, it was time to go home.

Of course, joining Kakashi would not give him a mission on the first day.

"Shintaro?"

Kakashi was clearly surprised.

He was wearing the gray ANBU vest, with the fire pattern tattoo symbolizing ANBU on his left arm, and the red-striped cat face mask on his face, with a somewhat cold temperament.

"Let's go, come with me to Kurenai's house for dinner tonight."

Hearing Shintaro's words, Kakashi's cold temperament softened, "Okay."

He took off his mask, revealing his bandaged eye.

Shintaro noticed Kakashi's blind eye and said, "Having only one eye is always a hindrance. I'll go back and ask Orochimaru to help you with an eye transplant."

Kakashi touched the bandage, feeling the empty eye socket beneath, and gritted his teeth. He said, "I want to keep this eye to remember the revenge against the mysterious masked man who killed Rin and gouged out my eye."

"I know, but having only one eye will affect your visual balance and weaken your spatial orientation judgment." Shintaro spoke calmly.

He was well aware of Kakashi's hatred for the mysterious masked man, but he still tried to persuade him.

"I'm not asking you to let go of your hatred, but replacing it with a healthy eye will be good for your strength."

Kakashi lowered his head, "You're right, revenge requires strength."

Shintaro nodded in satisfaction and said, "That's enough for now."

The topic ended for a while, and the two of them arrived at the Yuhi residence.

"Shintaro, you're back..."

"Eh, Kakashi? Are you joining for dinner too?"

"Shintaro, why didn't you tell me in advance? Seriously."

There was only Kurenai in the house.

"Excuse me."

Kakashi bowed slightly to her.

Kurenai waved her hand and said, "It's okay, don't bother me."

Shintaro smiled, patted Kakashi, and said to Kurenai, "Is there any fish left for Shiro at home?"

"Bring it out and give it to Kakashi to try. He likes fish."

Kakashi's mouth moved slightly and said, "No need..."

Kurenai suddenly nodded, "I would have forgotten if you hadn't told me. Don't worry, it's all good fish and edible for humans."

Kurenai thought Kakashi was dissatisfied because the fish was prepared for Shiro and continued to explain, "Shiro's food is better than what ordinary people eat."

Kakashi glanced at Shiro, who was chubby and white, nodded, and said, "I can see that."

Shiro glanced at Kakashi when he heard this, then swayed his tail and left with a snort.

Kurenai then went to the kitchen and got busy.

After a while, the food for three people was brought out.

One roasted meat, one octopus mustard, and one fried river fish.

It perfectly matched the favorite tastes of Shintaro, Kurenai, and Kakashi.

"How does it taste? Kurenai's cooking skills are quite good, right?"

Shintaro said to Kakashi in a showy tone, flaunting the ring on his hand as if he was proud of it.

Kakashi chuckled, then praised, "The fish frying skills have surpassed mine, let alone other cooking skills."

A smile appeared on Kurenai's face, "Please sit down, we haven't had dinner together for a long time."

Kakashi sat down, but his expression slowly darkened.

Kurenai was a bit confused and looked at Shintaro in panic, thinking she had said something wrong.

At a glance, Shintaro knew that Kakashi was thinking about the late Obito and Rin again, so he winked at Kurenai.

"Sorry, I just remembered back then at my house... Obito and Rin were there..."

Kakashi said what was on his mind.

Shintaro didn't say much, only said, "Eat."

Kakashi nodded.

The dinner among the three of them seemed somewhat quiet.

Kakashi said goodbye and left after dinner.

At the door, Kurenai, who had just said goodbye to Kakashi, grabbed Shintaro's hand and said, "I think Kakashi has become much darker... It's not dark... It's just indescribable."

Shintaro said slowly, "Your feeling is right. After all, others would surely be stressed because of Kakashi's experience."

His parents died when he was young, and he lost two of his best friends during the war.

Being only depressed already showed that Kakashi's mind was strong.

Kurenai sighed, "That's true. If it were me, I probably wouldn't be able to bear it..."

"I won't let you experience this, Kurenai."

After that, the two entered a sweet romantic stage, which was not enough for outsiders.

In the days that followed, Kakashi seemed to enjoy his life in ANBU very much.

Shintaro entrusted Orochimaru to replace Kakashi's eye with one that had intact vision.

As a result, Kakashi's strength was not affected.

Sharp swordsmanship, excellent Five Element Ninjutsu, and the ability to kill enemies with the final blow of Chidori were enough for him to gain a foothold in Konoha and even the ninja world.

Kakashi's increasingly cold and skilled killing methods also earned him the title of Cold-Blooded Kakashi.

This title was actually a compliment for ninjas.

However, ninjas both inside and outside Konoha would fear this name.

But in Shintaro's view, the name Cold-Blooded Kakashi was just a self-healing method he used to hide his true feelings.

Moreover, it was just a way to vent on enemies like the mysterious masked man.

Kakashi was actually not cold-blooded.
