Capítulo 61: Imprisonment [part 4]

The torture chamber, with its menacing machines and rusty chains, seemed almost a symbol of my current situation: trapped, tormented, deceived.

I realized I needed to stay clear-headed, keep calm, and analyze every detail carefully.

I approached the machines again, but this time with a new perspective.

Every detail could be a clue, every machine a metaphor.

I began to question the truth behind the events that had just happened.

The prisoner who had deceived me, the three men who had attacked me: it could all be part of a bigger plan.

A plan to test not only my physical strength but also my ability to judge situations, to discern truth from lies, to remain true to myself even in the most desperate circumstances.

I had to think of a plan of action since I couldn't afford to stay trapped in the torture chamber.

I decided to take stock of what I had at my disposal.

I still had the dagger, though the blade was now dull. The pain in my side was excruciating, but I could still move.

I stood still for a moment, trying to calm my breathing and clear my mind.

I thought back to the prisoner's words and all the information I had gathered.

I tried to organize my thoughts, to understand how each element could fit into a larger plan.

Every detail could be significant, every clue crucial.

I decided to come up with several plans of action, evaluating each possibility carefully.

First plan:

Explore the room further.

Maybe I had missed something. I couldn't rule out the possibility that there was a secret passage, a hidden clue in some dark corner.

I would examine every stone, every machine, every chain.

I would move everything I could, searching for a way out.

Second plan: Return to the dark passage.

If I found nothing in the room, I would consider going back to the passage I had come from.

Maybe there were other branches I hadn't noticed, other paths I could take to escape my pursuers.

Although I knew that going back would likely mean encountering the troops sent by the gang that had abandoned me.

Third plan: Create a trap.

If my pursuers caught up with me, I could use the torture chamber to my advantage.

I could create a trap, using the machines and chains to immobilize or slow down the men.

It would be risky, but in a desperate situation, I had to use every resource at my disposal.

Fourth plan: Use the dagger as a diversion.

The dagger's blade was dull, but I could use it as a diversion.

Perhaps I could throw it to distract my pursuers, creating a moment of confusion that would allow me to escape.

I would need to be quick and precise, but it was a possibility I couldn't discard.

Fifth plan: Pretend to surrender.

An extreme plan, but I could pretend to surrender.

If they captured me, I could buy time, observe my captors, and wait for the right moment to strike or escape.

It was a risky idea, requiring cold blood and steady nerves but also good acting skills.

As I considered these plans, time seemed to slow down.

Every second was precious, but I knew that rushing could lead to fatal mistakes.

I had to decide calmly, evaluate every move carefully.

In the end, I decided to combine some of these plans.

I would examine the room more carefully, searching for a secret passage or hidden clue.

If I found nothing, I would set up a trap and, as a last resort, try to return to the dark passage.

With a heavy heart and focused mind, I began to put my plan into action.

Every movement was calculated, every step an act of will. Nothing would stop me.

Nothing would prevent me from discovering the truth and finding my freedom.

MEANWHILE, AT THE ENEMY'S HEADQUARTERS

Their leader was studying a map, his face covered by a menacing shadow.

He turned to his men with a satisfied smile.

"Just as we expected, he has fled," he said, his voice deep and icy.

"It was really easy to predict what he would do in this situation."

One of the men approached the leader, nodding.

"After we studied his behavior and saw how he reacted to certain things, along with the questions he asked, we knew he would choose to explore the room, looking for clues. This made his escape attempt predictable."

The leader turned towards the window, observing the dark landscape.

"He has shown remarkable judgment and endurance, but he doesn't know that every move he's made has already been anticipated and that those pieces of information are nothing but a lie."

Another man, with a scar on his face, intervened playfully.

"Right now, he must be examining every machine, every chain, desperately looking for a secret passage. He must be questioning the truth behind the events, thinking there's a bigger plan behind all this."

A smile spread among the men, sharing the same satisfaction.

"He is probably considering different options," continued the man with the scar.

"He's planning to explore the room further, to return to the dark passage, or perhaps even to set a trap using the machines. And then there's always his dagger... he could use it as a diversion. But in the end, if he feels too pressured, he might even pretend to surrender."

The leader nodded, pleased.

"We have prepared this situation in every detail. We cannot afford any mistakes. But now, we must take countermeasures to ensure he doesn't find a way out."

One of the men, with a thoughtful look, asked, "What do you suggest, sir?"

The leader turned, his eyes shining with intense determination.

"We need to reinforce the defenses in the dark passage and prepare a team to intercept him if he tries to go back. Additionally, let's make sure the machines in the room are traps themselves. If he tries to use them to his advantage, he will only fall into our net."

A sinister smile spread across the leader's face.

"And remember the oath we took. Nothing must go wrong; this is our great opportunity."

The men nodded, ready to carry out their leader's orders. With one last look at the map, the leader turned back to the window, watching the night sky.

"His resilience and cunning are admirable," he said slowly. "But in the end, he will fall into our trap. And when he does, we will truly understand his worth."

With that, the leader left the room, leaving his men to prepare for the inevitable confrontation.

The tension was growing, but their confidence was unwavering.

They knew that every move their enemy made had been anticipated and that soon they would have their victory.
