Capítulo 169: We might have a chance

Locked in the cold, damp cell, I found myself staring blankly at the rough stone walls, trying to muster the strength to endure another day. Hunger gnawed at my insides, a constant reminder of my captivity.

They only gave us one meal a day, and it was barely enough to sustain me, let alone Tommy, the child I had sworn to protect. I always gave him the entire portion, knowing his young body needed it more. But the sacrifice was taking its toll. I was so hungry, so tired. 

My thoughts drifted to Carmen. I clung to the memory of her touch, her voice, her presence. It was the only thing keeping me sane in this hellhole. I tried to believe she would come for me, that she would find a way. But with each passing hour, hope dwindled.
