Glancing around, Giovanni found himself in an unfamiliar room. The air was thick with the metallic scent of blood and his stomach turned at the sight of crimson spatters decorating the dingy walls. At the feeling of something wet dripping down his hands, he glanced down at them in bemusement. At the sight of the redness staining them, they began to tremble and his eyes widened in panic.
His heart pounded in his chest as he frantically tried to wipe the blood away, but it only seemed to smear more across his skin.
He looked up to see the walls turning familiar.
He stumbled backwards panickily, bumping against a table and sending items crashing to the floor. The noise echoed through the small space, making him flinch. His eyes drifted down to catch the broken frame, lying underneath the shattered glass was a picture of a younger version of himself with an auburn haired woman beside him, prompting him to smile.
He felt his sight blurring with fresh tears.
