Grace didn't sleep the whole night; she couldn't understand why her mother would see her and run away. "Did she leave because Mr. Xu arrived?" she thought.
Now that her mind was clear, she remembered that her mother had fear in her eye the moment those bikes surrounded the area.
"I need to go back there."
She walked down the bed and couldn't stand. "Ouch." Slowly, she lifted her gown and found her knee was bruised.
When that man had pushed her, she had gotten this injury. Her phone rang, and she checked the caller.
"Mr. Xu"
Her hands shivered when she thought of his threat yesterday: "Hello?"
"Do you have a name to tell me now?"
A name?
"Wh-at name?"
"Fourteen hours left, who should I start with? Mr. Wang? Seb, or maybe your dear brother."
Then he hung up.
She developed goosebumps on her skin. "I can't tell him because I swore not to."
