Ken looked at the massive river in front of him and smiled as he removed his armor and clothes, leaving only his pants and belt with his sword. He went to the shallow waters, took a dip, and started to wash off the blood.
[This river is pretty calm, almost still if you only look at the surface]
Eleis remarked amusedly, "And that fools many people into going for a swim. Even in shallow waters, it contains danger..." Ken muttered as he looked at a moving stone that was slowly but surely making its way to him.
Ken unsheathed his sword and stabbed the stone, which broke, revealing a crab. Ken's sword plunged right into the crab, splitting it in half.
Ken stabbed his sword into the ground, within arm's reach, and got cleaned off as he eyed a monster that was staring at him from the side. "A crocodile monster, huh, pretty rare,"
[It's probably a girl, it's been staring at you for a while, unblinking]
Eleis playfully remarked as she poked fun at Ken, who ignored it.
Meanwhile, in the forest just a few hundred meters from Ken...
"Big Bro!!! Where did you go!!!??" Aisa shouted as she looked for Ken, who had disappeared when she was busy learning from Siria.
Siria casually tailed her, peeking in the direction Ken was with a smile, "He should be around here," she commented, making Aisa look around more. "I hear a river nearby. Let's go there," she suggested, and Aisa nodded.
"B-"
Aisa was about to call out again, but Siria quickly covered her mouth, "Let's not attract the attention of any monsters," she remarked as she walked ahead.
Aisa frowned, feeling an alternative motive behind Siria's action but still followed without asking as Siria was the stronger party.
After a bit of walking, they got out of the forest and were faced with the massive river, "This river is almost 100 meters wide, and also very deep. If you fall in, you will die. I can't even count how many monsters are here; there are just too many," Siria casually warned as she looked in the direction of Ken.
"Also, your brother is about to fight," Siria remarked, making Aisa look in the direction of Ken, who was very far away; she could barely see him.
Ken, in the shallow waters, looked at the crocodile-type monster that kept staring at him and decided to ignore it for a bit as he slowly pulled out his sword from the ground and watched the river's center with caution and a bit of annoyance.
The whole river, which looked still, started to pick up pace and created a vortex that kept growing bigger with time. Ken picked up a rock, enhanced it, and poured in his magic. With a quick throw at the edge of the vortex...
BBBAAAAMMMMM!!!
Ken disrupted the forming vortex, making the pace of water disproportionate and able to mix in. Ken frowned as he looked at the waters and felt something was off. He scanned the river, vigilant of anything moving, and from the corner of his eye, he spotted something. He immediately jumped back.
Crunch!
The sound of his leg being munched came. Ken landed on solid ground and took a few steps back as he examined his leg. There were two bloody holes and two small punctures on the other side of the bloody holes.
[You jumped back right before it could manage to sink its lower jaw in, your reaction is getting faster and faster]
Eleis complimented, her tone lazy and a little excited to see the unfolding battle.
On the side, Aisa looked in shock as the situation changed too quickly for her to keep up. Her eyes fell on Ken's injured leg, and she got worried but didn't leave Siria's side.
"The monster that attacked Ken is called Water Eel. It is an annoying monster to deal with. In water, you can barely see it since it is blue and also blends well with its surroundings." Siria educated as she made a water ball in front of Aisa that turned into a blue eel. "It's a surprise that your brother managed to not get fully bit by it. Its upper jaw has two long teeth that latch on to everything that is eatable, and then the lower jaw closes, making the small teeth that cover its whole mouth sink in, making it impossible to get out of it," she complimented Ken, which made Aisa give a small smile.
"How quick do you think this battle is going to be?" Siria asked, making Aisa peek at her in confusion.
"What do you mean?" Aisa inquired as she returned her focus back to Ken, who entered the water with his sword glowing in a white hue.
"How long will it take Ken to kill the Water Eel?" Siria questioned again, making Aisa think for a bit.
"I don't know... but he will do it in one strike," Aisa confidently stated as she studied the white hue on Ken's sword, feeling the massive amount of mana in it.
Siria smiled and watched with Aisa.
Half of Ken's body was in the water now, with his sword underwater held tightly. His eyes traced a nearly invisible outline of the eel that slowly circled him.
Ken's sword glowed brightly as he poured more mana into it. He twisted his body and, with a rough but powerful motion, pulled his sword out, breaking the water's tension so fast that the water around him was pushed back.
Then he struck down, using his whole body to strike with all the power and momentum he could gather.
SHING!! DAAAAAAAMMMMM!!!!!
CRACK!
Ken's sword strike was a sight to behold. The water of the river was punched back, forming an air vortex with Ken at its center. In front of him, the ground split, reaching the forest with trees being uprooted or cut.
The split in the ground was nearly 2 meters deep and half a meter wide.
The water that had been pushed back returned, drenching Ken, who casually walked out, started to put on his armor, and examined the damage he had caused.
[Nice~ You pulled one of those sword tricks. Pretty cool. If you hadn't gotten a good sword, I doubt it would have helped you achieve this. Either way, 1,000 power with 1,000 magic is pretty devastating.]
Eleis remarked, laid back but no longer lazy.
"Hmm," Ken examined the damage, looking surprised. "Never thought I would be able to cause such destruction. I guess I know my limits now," he commented as he looked at the 20-meter-long crack in the ground.
On the side.
Aisa looked at the site wide-eyed in shock.
"~Hehehehe~ Oh, Little Aisa, you don't need to worry about your big brother~! Ever~!" Siria giggled as she patted Aisa, messing up her hair. "You are good at hiding your worries, but in front of people like me, there is no point in it~" she whispered as she hugged Aisa from behind.
