Capítulo 127: Revenue
Virtya was seated on his chair with his eyes closed. This time, he was not writing anything as he was simply meditating.
Opening his eyes, Virtya stared at Alexandre and shifted his eyes onto his working table.
There was wine in a copper kettle and a cup beside it and almost at the edge of the table, a top hat and a burning chillum could be seen
Virtya poured some wine into the cup and took a sip.
"That is for the best. I hope, he will do great things at the construction sector. I only want profits and good architecture. And... Please call him. I want to talk to him. There is no time to rest..." Virtya said with a laid-back voice. He fixed his bow tie and put on his top hat.
Currently, the tax collection for the previous month of August had all been collected and Virtya collected a total of 1 million gold coins. This was only possible because of the many businesses that had popped up. Of course these businesses were selling clothes, farm tools from Litkesh and the cereals, there was plenty of goods to be sold and even the foreigners who ventured into Azuhai for business had to pay tax.
There were other types of taxes like if one owned a large piece of land, they had to pay the tax for it, but the money obtained from such was not as much as that obtained from the merchants.
The revenue collected for the month of August was 5, 700, 000 gold coins. This was mainly obtained from selling the stock of what Virtya had been making like the clothes, a few carriages, barley, sisal, cement and steel. Additionally, renting out government buildings and other revenues that was usually obtained from the past added to this amount. This amount was ridiculously huge because of products like barley which was selling because of its importance in making brew while a bigger percentage of this amount came from the sale of cement to the rich merchants and the dukes.
Actually, Pollow cement factory had received a lot of money from its customers but it had yet to give its customers their goods because of the nature of the terrain where the cement plant was, the terrain was not only slowing down the movement of cement to the eastern Pollow but it was also slowing down the movement of raw materials to the cement plant and that was why Virtya was running against time to construct the bridge which would lover the cost of transporting the goods and raw materials over the valley, this move would basically increase the production of cement because of easy movement of raw materials to the factory on time.
Virtya was planning to start the selling of shares of some of his companies like the cement company so that he could get the money for his next project because the money that he obtained from revenues and tax was not enough.
Currently, the value of Pollow cement was about 30 million gold coins and this value would increase over time when the people find out how useful cement was. Then the sales curve would continue to climb higher and higher making the value of Pollow cement company to rise at an absurd value.
Virtya had wanted the value of Pollow cement factory to reach 200 million before he could sell it but the needs for money was overwhelming him which made him impatient and he didn't have a choice and he wanted to sell Pollow cement factory.
