Davian spaced out for the rest of the meeting, so much so that Bella gave up on trying to get his attention.

It made Lake worry that he had crossed the line, concern painting his features as he watched Davian.

The meeting ended earlier than he predicted and that was because the executives didn't have the patience for it to drag on any longer.

BlueAir was a small struggling company, and the shareholders weren't interested in funding a money drain. The CEO spoke at length but unless they found a way to increase productivity out of the blue, there might be no saving the company from going under.

Davian was simply a shareholder and all Lake had to do was protect his interests, they had no obligations whatsoever to the company.

As soon as the meeting ended, executives made their way out in droves, leaving behind Lake, Davian, and Bella who was using this opportunity to freely strike up a conversation with Davian.
