The dispute, which appeared to escalate, suddenly calmed when the man heard these words. He looked at the woman who had positioned herself next to the doctor urging him to undergo the tests.
"Do you really mean that?" the man asked, straightening up a bit, the tension in his neck easing. "Is this not a deception because you both are with the same hospital?" He waved his hand between Cole and Ariana.
"Indeed, I am sincere," Ariana responded with a courteous smile. "However, if one of our leading doctors believes there's something amiss with your health, I must trust his judgment."
"But I promise, we would never engage in deceiving a patient," she hurriedly added when she saw the man was about to object again. "Proceed with the tests Dr. Cole has requested, and should there be an error in his diagnosis, we'll surely offer you compensation."
