Capítulo 26: A Healer's Touch and a Warrior's Heart

The Alphas finished killing off the last of the mutant creatures, then circled together around Wald and Madison. The old lead Alpha shifted his big body, his face covered in scars looking very serious. "We need to get him to the healer right now," he said in a rough, deep voice.

As they carefully carried Wald away, Madison couldn't help but feel an intense chill run down her spine. They had won this fight, but at what terrible cost? Wald was hurt so badly. And every single drop of blood spilled, every single life lost... it only made The Master, their evil and powerful enemy, grow stronger in his dark powers.

Madison followed right behind as the Alphas rushed urgently to get Wald to the healing rooms. Her heart pounded rapidly in her chest, gripped by fear at the shocking sight of Wald's battered and broken body. She had never before seen him appear so vulnerable, so stripped of his usual aura of strength, so plainly and alarmingly... human.
