*plobs, plobs*
It was quiet, all I could hear was water drooplings in the sink, and the sound of my heart thumping. Earlier, I was relaxing… now I'm clutching to the edge of the tub for my dear life! She's getting closer! Her hand , placing on my neck, her thumb, on my lip, tilting my head up… oh god what's happening?? Why is she getting closer… I can feel my face getting heat up, and I couldn't move. I'm trying to retaliate but my body has already surrendered to her…sh*ts! I didn't know what to do, so I just closed my eyes.
Strand of her hair was falling on my face, whatever's she going to do next.. I have accepted it all..
"..Mmm…there's seem to be no more blood-stained on your face, my lady."
Huh. Oh-she's just checking my face! Nothing happened … wait why am I disappointed?..Craps..
I thrashed myself up and away from her grip, water was splashing everywhere.
"Oh! my lady, is something wrong…"
"We're done right? Let's get out, I'm cold." I said that while facing away, hoping she won't see my red face..
Her ears are all red up..-Irene thought to herself. "Very well, let's get out." Irene said.
A few days later*
Finally! I've gotten to visit the town!..but..
*Earlier*
"W-what!?" I said.
"Well Irene has visited the town frequently, so I think she can accompany you around." Holly said.
"I'm sorry my lady that I couldn't go with you, it's just now things have gotten a bit more complicated around here..."
After the incident, it was hectic around the manor. There were a lot of things that need to be rebuild, and some workers were laid off because of the shock from that night, some said it was the night of liberation. Rumor's been going around saying a thunderous blue cloud was formed above the Corvus manor, then a Giant Sword slowly emerged out and fall unto the estate. People said it was work of the goddess, punishing and cleansing the land of the Corvus from their sins.
That's a wild story they came up with..Well at least some of it is true I guess…
"It-it's fine, Holly. I'll go with Irene then.."
That's how we ended up coming here together.. well at least the scene here hasn't failed my expectations. It is really pretty.. all the wall of these buildings are made of bricks and stones, the roof tiles are made of woods, designed to be that of the medieval ages! There were stalls selling fresh foods, souvenirs and others antique stuff in front of each houses, this must be the local market, isn't it!
Everything was new and exhilarating to me that I couldn't keep myself from wandering around everywhere. Irene followed along with me without complain, earlier I think I saw her.. smiling? During that, we stopped at the front of this old bookstore.
"My lady." Irene called out to me.
"Ah-yes.. what is it?"
"Can you wait for me at that fountain? I have some stuffs I wanna purchase in that book store."
"Oh! Do you want me to come with you?"
"No it's fine, my lady. It'll just be a minute. I'll be back, please wait over there for me." She smiled, assuring me that she won't be long.
"Oh okay.." I looked down with a bit of distress.
In my previous life, I am what they called a hermit. My destination after work would be straight home, and slacking in my room. I don't go out to crowded places alone, people makes me anxious.
As she was about to enter the store, she noticed my face was looking a bit pale. She must have thought I was nervous because she walked back to me and started petting my head.
" ! " W-what!, I knew colors started to return back to my face as I felt like my face was burning.
" I'll be back."Irene said.
Okay she's getting out of hand with this. I moved my head away from her hand and started to walk to the fountain.
"Go!" I yelled at her. Seriously..
After that night, it has gotten harder and harder for me to refuse her approaches.. No..maybe I have become too docile with her that she thinks she can do whatever she wants.. maybe I'll be a bit more assertive next time, show her who's the master here.. hehe..mph!
Anyway this fountain.. it looks familiar like the one in the manor.. the fountain has a statue of a man, wearing a hood, and a bandage covering his eyes…and a crow on his shoulder.. Oh I remember now. This town is called Cassia, named after the first person who founded this land, which is the man of the statue. The game description didn't specify much about his origin, but it is rumored to be that he is the founder of the House of Corvus too.
"That's interesting…she has not returned.." mmm let's walk around here for a bit.
I went around, sightseeing the town, trying some local sweets here and there.
"Oh This Bun is Super delicious! It's fluffy.. and there's grape jam filling in this! Sweet and a little bit tangy.. ma'am your food is delicious!" I talked to the seller.
"Fufu thank you young lady, here's a little freebie for you cause you seemed to really enjoy it. Please come back again soon." The lady at the food stall said.
"Woaah- thank you ma'am!" I walked out with three grape buns with me. Yep I'm definitely visiting here again soon.
As I was walking back to the fountain, I passed a dark alley.
"Oh young lady,.. got any spare change?"
Some elderly voice came from that alley. She looked small and fragile, wearing a grayish purple robe, and sitting on a rug with some antique items displaying in front of her.
I walked towards her and gave a silver coin.
"Ohh thank you dearly…you're very kind..I don't have anything valuable to offer.. how about take a look at these charms, maybe something that we'll caught your eyes?" The lady extended her hand to showcase the item.
"Okay…" I began to examined those items and something intriguing caught my eye, so I picked it up.
"Ohh dear you've got great taste!" The lady blurted out.
The item seems to be a silver meddalion, the size of my palm, and its carving seem to be that of a crow.
"What exactly is this?" I asked the old lady.
"A protective charm. The crow can symbolizes new beginning, or even death, but in this case, it just brings you luck, but do be careful young lady, this one can be a bit unpredictable."
"Ah I see.." she must be a scammer..isn't she..
"So how much is this?"
"Oh you can have it for free dear, you did donate some money to this old lady, so take that as the amount for this charm."
"Oh alright then." As I began to walk away, she stopped me.
"If you're not in a hurry, why don't you let me read your fortunes? I can also do palm reading."
"Oh.. well.." I took a peek out to see if Irene was at the fountain yet, but it seemed she still wasn't finish…
"Ahh sure then."
"Ahhh yes.. splendid."
I extend my left hand to her, she holds it and examined it for a minute.
"Oh..oh…I see…you… you're not from around here aren't you?" Ahh so she is a fraud.
"No, I actually live here, from overthat mountain-"
she suddenly interrupts me.
"No.. you.. you're not of this world, aren't you?"
… what. How.. did she know this? Is she telling the truth? I was stunned at her speaks, I've been living in this place for quite some time now, losing all hope of returning home, but she shows me a glimpse of returning.
She continues-" I'm right, aren't I, no?"
I grabbed her arm with my other hand.
"Please!..do you know how I can go back?" I was sounding desperate.
"…I'm afraid I can't give you the answers to that, my dear. It is truly unfortunate for you, but let me look into your future, see if I can help you with your paths."
"..Please do." She started to examined my hand again, her finger slowly moving across my palm, drawing some sort of signs.
Her eyes that were barely opened earlier seemed to opened wide.
"Oh…ohh…dear.. this is… a catastrophe..how could you let such a blasphemous being invade your dreams..oh it is grimmed for you..for us all.. the path ahead for you.. will be one that will affect the whole continent…heed my words, outsider, the prophecy have been forth told ..you, the one who was left behind by the blessings of this world, you will be the one who will devoured our very hope and dreams, every single part of it all."
That's saying… Chills ran down my spine as information started to popped up in my brain. I remembered.. that dream, with the crow.. thinking about it began to make feel nauseous, I pulled myself away from her, then started to vomit violently.
I remembered…what the crow whispered in to my ear- "Now… go..devour everything and everyone that stands in your path."
