Capítulo 7: .

"Where's Phae?" Moon asked, trying not to jump backward out of surprise. Sneaky indeed. Ae grinned, two fangs showing, and sat down on the nearest object - an old ottoman studded with diamond buttons and lined with gold thread. Then she dramatically turned to look at Moon upside-down.

"Ah, Phae couldn't make it. The poor thing exhausted his powers." Ae said mildly. Moon wasn't amused. "Planets usually die if they exhaust their powers." Ae winked and held up a finger, her slit pupils studying Moon, still upside down. Stray hair from her buns was dangling, swaying in the air. "Of course. It works differently for meteoroids, however. We don't die so easily. Anyway, Did your spirits get you the information?" Her eyes darted over to the watermark on the floor, where it instantly vanished. The water now surged back around Moon, hissing with steam. Moon turned her sights again to Ae, who was luxuriously slouched on her ottoman, legs in the air, and grinning broadly while looking up at her.

"What do you want for it?" Moon said mildly. Ae smiled.

"We - me and Phae, I mean - would like to meet the famous Terra."

Terra. What if they killed her the way they killed Proxima?

Moon rolled her eyes. "Well, I never asked for any of that information. I can say no." Ae smiled. It was slightly unnerving because her pupils were still eyeing Moon with calculated precision.

"Me, you, and Phae are the only ones that know about Terra's situation. All the other gods think she remembers everything, but in reality, she's just an easy-to-kill mortal who no one will remember." Ae started.

"What do you-" Moon started, but the meteoroid was already plowing ahead without waiting for Moon to finish.

"So what would you do, Moon, if I were to sneak into her house in the middle of the night and let her out of her misery?"

Moon froze. She had been correct - Terra was in danger. If her host planet died, she wouldn't ever be able to escape the barrier. The water around her was now hissing frantically, echoing her distress. Ae was still sitting on the ottoman, but now her smile was stretched even wider - she knew she had won. Moon gritted her teeth, and then stormed out of the cottage, leaving the door open and her bag still hanging on the vine.

"I'll take you to her, Ae. Follow me."
