Capítulo 14: Chapter 13: Preparations

"You should understand that this is not a question that a first-year student should be dealing with," Snape frowned and paused for a moment, but then continued, "Since you can ask this question, I presume you should be quite clear about the principle of aversion reaction. Just need to reverse stir to interrupt the aversion reaction accurately at the right time and add subsequent ingredients. There's no need to forcibly maintain the magical form of the original potion solution. Next question."

In the following, Macka asked all the questions he encountered one by one. However, he keenly noticed that Snape did not show the impatience he had imagined, but rather patiently answered all the questions one by one.

"...Any more questions? Then get out."

After Macka finished asking the questions, Snape returned to his initial impatient look and waved Macka out of his office.

"Whew..." Standing at the corner of the corridor outside the office, Macka couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief.

Honestly, he was really not too willing to get too close to Snape. Facing someone who was inscrutable was more terrifying to him than anything else.

Speaking of which, the person he was most afraid of getting close to was undoubtedly Dumbledore.

After recalling his words and actions in Snape's office just now and finding that there was nothing wrong with them, Macka quickly left.

After overcoming the difficulties that would inevitably be encountered in several actual operations, the next thing became much easier. He just needed to supplement some missing tools and find a quiet place without anyone around to start experimenting.

"Hagrid's cabin? Good choice!" Macka muttered to himself, turning around and walking towards the main gate. "It's just that there's no class this afternoon, so it's a good time to visit Hagrid."

...

Today was a good day, the wind was stronger than the past few days. Looking up, the sky was as blue as a wash, which made people's mood cheerful. The air outside the castle seemed particularly fresh, which was completely opposite to the gloomy office of Snape.

Macka took a deep breath of the fresh air outside—it was the blessing of nature that sustained human life, whether wizard or Muggle, equal.

Hagrid's cabin was not far from the Forbidden Forest, and it could be reached quickly by walking through the fields.

"Hey, Hagrid! Good afternoon!" Macka saw Hagrid's tall figure from a distance.

"Oh, Macka! Yes, good afternoon!" Hagrid turned his head, smiled happily when he saw Macka, and said.

However, he soon put away his smile, and then said seriously, "Yes, I'm glad you came to see me, and I welcome you to my cabin as a guest. But, it's almost time for class, you shouldn't be here."

"Yes, in fact, it's already class time," Macka shrugged, "but I don't have class today."

"Oh, I see, I should have thought of that. When I asked Harry and them to come over last time, I deliberately chose a time when they didn't have class."

"Come on, come in, come in, I'll pour you a cup of tea." He said, walking into the cabin with Macka, putting his arm around Macka's shoulder, "Oh, the door is a bit small, you go in first."

"Woof! Woof!" Hagrid's black dog barked loudly at Macka, and the iron buckle collar on its neck rattled.

"It's called Fang. It's a bit timid, but very affectionate, a good dog." Hagrid grabbed Fang forcefully, then gestured for Macka to sit on the sofa.

While Hagrid went to make tea, Macka looked around the interior of the cabin. Apart from a fireplace, two sofas, and a small round table, there was basically nothing else. Well, Hagrid had to stay here, so he couldn't put too much furniture.

"Do you want some rock cakes? Harry and Ron seem to like them." Hagrid turned around and asked.

"No, thanks, they're a bit hard, and my teeth haven't been in good shape lately." Macka quickly declined, "You know, it's time to change teeth."

"Oh, yes, it's a pity." Hagrid nodded, "But if you want to get rid of your rotten teeth quickly, rock cakes are not a bad choice."

"If it's about to come off, maybe I'll come to you again, Hagrid." Macka smiled wryly.

Next, Macka chatted with Hagrid aimlessly for the afternoon. From various magical creatures to Dumbledore, and then to his brother Aberforth, he learned a lot of miscellaneous information.

Generally speaking, under Macka's skillful topic guidance, the two of them talked happily about many topics that Hagrid was interested in.

Until Macka was ready to leave, he stood at the door and casually mentioned his request.

"Oh, by the way, Hagrid," Macka said as if he had suddenly remembered something, "I wonder if I can come here to practice potion making during my free time? In school, Professor Snape always stares at me with a gloomy face, and I can't concentrate on practicing."

"Um, Silvanus, yes, he always has that look like someone owes him money," Hagrid nodded with a smile, "Of course, you can come over anytime, I'm around here most of the time."

"Okay, thank you." After thanking Hagrid, Macka closed the door and left.

Of course, if he could find the Room of Requirement, it would be great, but unfortunately, Macka forgot where it was exactly.

"I'll look for it later! It would be great if I could find it."

As he pondered, he walked towards the direction of the castle. It would be time for dinner soon.

...

Mealtimes at Hogwarts were always the busiest times of the day. At this time, everyone would discuss gossip and impressions of the day while dealing with their own plates of food.

Today, Macka finally didn't have to rush because he was taking a break. He had been spending too much time in the library lately, and even though he still felt mentally alert, his body was tired.

"...Is that her?"

Macka inadvertently glanced towards the Slytherin table and suddenly saw the mysterious girl he had encountered in the library before.

She was sitting on the edge of the Slytherin table, eating pudding delicately. Her robe was draped over her loosely, dragging on the ground, but she didn't seem to care. The surrounding students were chatting with each other, lively and animated, but she was alone, detached from the cheerful atmosphere, and no one paid her any attention.

Normally, she would feel quite out of place sitting there alone. But Macka found that she seemed to blend into the whole environment, rather than being inconspicuous.

As the cheerful atmosphere of the dinner gradually came to an end, Macka watched the mysterious girl finish her meal and silently leave, pondering who she really was.

He caught sight of Malfoy walking over to the Gryffindor table.

"Having your last meal, Potter? When are you returning to the Muggle world on the train?"

"Do you think the professors don't notice what's going on here, and with your little sidekick accompanying you, you're much braver." Harry said coldly.

Macka had already walked over to the side, and he looked at Crabbe and Goyle. Their tall and sturdy appearance was really hard to be called "little sidekick".

It seemed that they were hesitating because of the teachers sitting at the high table, so they didn't dare to act rashly and could only scowl and clench their fingers tightly.

"I'm willing to duel you alone at any time," Malfoy said, "If you don't mind, tonight, a wizard's duel! Just wands—no contact. What do you say? I guess you've never heard of a wizard's duel before?"

"He certainly has," Ron said, suddenly turning around. "I'm his second. Who's yours?"

Malfoy looked at Crabbe and Goyle, weighing them up.

"Crabbe," he said. "At midnight, how about that? We'll meet you in the trophy room, it's never locked."

After Malfoy left, Harry and Ron looked at each other.

"What's a wizard's duel?" Harry asked. "You said you'd be my second, what does that mean?"

"Oh, if you die, I'll take over," Ron said casually, finally starting to eat his cooled pie.

He caught the look on Harry's face and quickly added, "But you know, people only die in real duels between real wizards. You and Malfoy can only send out a few sparks at best—your knowledge of magic is too limited, you won't really hurt each other. But, I bet he thought you'd refuse."

"What if I wave my wand and there's no response at all?" Harry asked.

"Then throw your wand away and punch him in the nose," Ron shrugged, giving his advice with a mischievous smile.

"Sorry to interrupt." On the opposite side of the long table, Hermione suddenly spoke up.

"Can't people eat here in peace?" Ron said.

Ignoring him, Hermione said to Harry, "I couldn't help overhearing what you and Malfoy were saying..."

"I knew you would." Ron muttered.

"You absolutely cannot wander around the school at night. Just think, if you're caught, how many points will Gryffindor lose! And you'll definitely get caught, you're really selfish."

"This has nothing to do with you." Harry said.

"Goodbye." Ron added.

Hermione watched their departing figures, stamped her foot angrily. Suddenly, she noticed Macka sitting not far away.

"Hey, did you hear that too? You should have stopped them."

Since she had chatted with Macka in Herbology class that day, Hermione occasionally ran into Macka in the library. She would usually sit down and discuss some study-related questions with Macka.

Over time, the two became acquainted.

"You saw it too, the way they are, it's useless to stop them." Macka walked over and shrugged, indicating that he was powerless to do anything about it, "Although Harry usually seems friendly, he's actually quite stubborn. Once he's set on something, it's hard for others to make him change."
