Capítulo 15: Request of Servitude

In a sudden and dramatic twist of events, the strong and brave Mana Knight Rederic, Alistair, Cedric, Eldric, Gideon, Ivander, Jasper, and the powerful Mage Marcus, one by one, bent down and knelt before young Wallace.

They moved slowly and purposefully, showing deep respect and submission. As their voices blended together, they pleaded, "Please, let us be of service to you, young lord!"

The soldiers, who didn't possess the magical abilities known as Mana, shook with fear and disbelief as they witnessed this astounding scene.

The mere presence of these mighty Mana users, whom they had known to be merciless and cruel, now humbling themselves before Wallace, filled them with terror.

Questions raced through their minds.

Is this how terrifying the new leader of Toraz town is?

Could this young man be our new leader?

What kind of power does he possess to command such loyalty?

Is this their new Baron?

These soldiers had long served under the Noble Baron Family, dedicating their lives to protecting and, at times, subduing the very nobles they served.

Every time a group of Mana users entered the territory, fear would consume them, for these wielders of Mana had a tendency to cause senseless destruction, often killing soldiers without reason.

The late Baron and his family, in their cruelty, even took pleasure in the bloodshed, and demise of normal soldiers.

The nobles placed great importance on Mana users and would go to great lengths to gain their favor.

But today, the butler had announced the arrival of a new noble, because for some unknown reason behind the sudden disappearance of the Toraz family.

It was their duty to protect him, for if they failed, the lives of every person in Toraz town would be in danger.

Fear gripped their souls, intensified by Wallace's bold challenge and disregard of the Mana users earlier.

The implications were terrifying.

And now, as they looked at this group of powerful Mana users, who had bowed before their new leader, the soldiers' fear reached new heights.

The sight was an undeniable testament to Wallace's importance as a Baron.

Their minds raced with thoughts of an uncertain and dangerous future!

Meanwhile, Wallace's eyes widened in disbelief as the words echoed in his mind.

"You all wanted to serve me?" he stammered, his voice full of the essence of astonishment.

The realization hit him in the head like a powerful wave, crashing into his wall of thoughts with unexpected strength.

Wallace had expected a slow gathering of loyal followers, but this... this was happening too quickly.

Yes, it is too fast!

Maybe the safety of his dungeon had sparked their eagerness, he thought.

The Mana Knights and mage, standing before him in a united front, nodded and spoke in unison, their voices sounded strong as the glistening steel of their armors.

"Yes, my lord! We wished to be of service to you!"

A surge of mixed emotions danced through Wallace's head.

Should he accept them now, without fully understanding the implications?

There was no clear rule against it, and Wallae didn't know or see of any potential problems with this. But just as he considered embracing their servitude, a sudden vibration jolted his wrist, interrupting his train of thought.

Curiosity crossed his face as he looked down at the source of the disturbance.

A holographic screen appeared before him, displaying urgent messages in a bright light.

[ Ding!

[ The group of seven Mana Knights and one mage wants to serve the host… ]

The words flickered on the screen.

[ But they don't just want to be citizens of Toraz town; they want to be your personal guards, a privilege that's not easily granted... yes… should not be easily granted to anyone. ]

The screen shifted, showing a new message that sent a shiver down Wallace's spine.

[ Mission:

[ Create a task or challenge within thirty minutes to prove their worthiness as your personal guards. If you don't comply or create a task or challenge under thirty minutes, you'll be permanently excluded from the 'Predator and Alien dungeon' game and won't be able to play that game forever.

[ Rewards: Random.

[ Cannot create a challenged within or related to the Gaming Dungeon, must be in real life. ]

Panic tightened in Wallace's chest as he knew that every reincarnator would miss planet Earth and long to see it again.

Unfortunately, most of them were not lucky enough to experience it once more.

The thought of being banned from the game he loved, condemned to eternal isolation, chilled him to the bone. It was as if he would be isolated in the remnants of his own Earth world.

He couldn't bear the idea of never entering that game from his planet again. With urgency, Wallace knew he had to come up with a mission that would test their skills and make them his loyal servants.

Soon, the hologram screen above his wrist added something.

[ Please write it here: _____________ ]

As Wallace thought about the heavy task of writing an essay, his mind struggled under the weight.

Essays, which seemed simple in their structure, hid the true complexity they contained—requiring careful thinking, thorough research, clear expression, time management, originality, and a constant battle against self-doubt.

Now, he was having self-doubts!

If it were within the confines of a dungeon game, he could easily conjure up hundreds of suggestions. However, in the real world, outside of that virtual realm, the challenge seemed daunting.

The pressure is immense.

The simple yet easy task became difficult for Wallace.

This confirms that he is academically gifted.

But in that moment, a flicker of inspiration sparked within Wallace as he looked at the soldiers standing beside him. A brilliant idea came to his mind, and a plan started to form.

"You three," he commanded respectfully, motioning for the soldiers to come closer.

Nervously, they approached, their fear evident in their stiff movements and trembling voices. "Yes,sir Baron?"

Wallace then looked at the seven Mana Knights and one Mage standing nearby, a mischievous smile appearing on his face. "You see, these people think they can easily serve under me," he began, his voice filled with a hint of amusement.

"They want a role beyond being ordinary citizens. But my loyal soldiers, what kind of test do you think would be most suitable to prove their worthiness as Mana Knights that would serve under me?"

A moment of silence hung in the air, anticipation building. Wallace's words, full of intrigue and uncertainty, lingered in their minds. "Certainly," he continued, a glimmer of audacity in his eyes, "it would be too bold for them to ask for such a position directly without even a test, don't you think?"

The three soldiers, already trembling, found themselves further paralyzed by the gravity of the situation. Fear gripped them, rendering them unable to speak, as they stood before their mysterious leader.

Realizing the challenge he had presented to them, Wallace's gaze softened with empathy. He wanted to reassure them, to ease their fears. "Don't be afraid," he assured them with conviction, his voice a shield against the impending threat.

"I promise you, as long as I'm alive, nothing bad will happen to you. So, my trusted comrades, what kind of test do you think will truly reveal their worthiness?"
