Chapter 113:"Interesting."
Fors displayed a puzzled expression.
Did she hear it wrong? Did Miss "Destiny" just suggest she do something illegal?
Huh?
"Didn't Emperor Roselle say this?" "The World" asked the stunned Fors.
What does this have to do with Emperor Roselle?
Not only was Fors confused, but Alger and Audrey, who knew more about the situation, also couldn't understand "The World's" question.
Realizing that this wasn't a famous saying of Emperor Roselle, Alice shrank back.
Without waiting for others to speak, Fors realized that this question was probably a common dilemma for all Beyonders, except for Mr. Fool.
After "The World" issued the commission to find potion ingredients, Alger made his final request:
"Please keep an eye out for someone related to the previously mentioned colonial slave disappearance case.
"He calls himself Baron, has a reddish-brown complexion, and distinct South Continent features, but someone once heard him speak with a Beckland accent.
"He's missing his third tooth on the left side, but it might have been replaced.
"Additionally, his appearance is unremarkable, and his height is quite average.
"If you can find any trace of him, the reward won't be an issue, at least 100 pounds, or equivalent items."
Alice frowned as she listened to Alger's description and asked, "No photos or personal items?"
Alger shook his head.
"Then even divination won't work..." Alice muttered softly.
Alger didn't dare to speak. In the gray fog, Klein chuckled softly and said, "Feel free to communicate."
...
After the Tarot meeting ended, Derrick returned to the real world, back to the narrow, dark room.
Recalling Alice's words at the Tarot meeting, Derrick sat quietly for a few seconds, then cautiously used his "Light Worshiper" ability to scan the room, ensuring his surroundings were safe.
In the silent darkness, Derrick saw a shadow sitting by the bed.
The shadow quickly became clear, revealing a head split vertically.
Derrick clearly saw the two grayish-white brains wriggling inside the head, trying to merge but failing.
From the cross-section of the brain, viscous liquid dripped down like fine threads, retracting like maggots.
The eyes on each side were far apart, the nose split in the middle, blood bright red.
The left half of the mouth grinned, while the right half remained tightly shut.
This terrifying monster was naked, with numerous dark red wounds crisscrossing its body.
The countless wounds grinned hideously, revealing rows of white teeth, all speaking the same sentence:
"Hee hee, I've been discovered∽"
Amidst the immense fear, Derrick felt a hint of relief: Fortunately, it didn't have a monocle on its right eye, otherwise...
The thought vanished, Derrick's pupils contracted sharply in terror, then he clasped his hands in front of his chest, under his chin, in a praying gesture.
A holy beam of light descended from the ceiling, striking the monster. Then, Derrick saw the beam suddenly widen, becoming so bright he wanted to close his eyes.
In this dazzling light, Derrick saw a "Light Person" leap out, pounce on the monster, and melt it.
Then, a shadow separated from the monster.
This shadow had black eyes, black pupils, a broad forehead, and a thin face. He wore a black classical robe, a black pointed soft hat, and a crystal monocle on his right eye.
Derrick's eyes widened suddenly, recalling Alice's words, which then faded from his mind,
The "Light Person" exploded, turning his vision into a white blur.
...
After giving today's Roselle diary to Alice, Klein let her return to the real world. He understood that even if he kept Alice, he wouldn't get much information.
—Alice still couldn't remember anyone's name except Song Shu. If Derrick hadn't mentioned Amon this time, she probably wouldn't even remember Song Shu.
Back in the real world, Alice ignored the Roselle diary she had transcribed and instead picked up a pen, slowly sketching Amon's image on the draft paper.
The image of a man sitting on a clock hand gradually became clear. Alice stared at the man who seemed to be observing her through the paper, her eyes becoming confused: "But... how did they end up together?"
Just as Alice remembered, Amon was the son of the Creator, the Angel of Time, the Blasphemer, the God of Deception and Mischief...
And Klein was the Fool, the...
A sharp pain from deep within her spirituality stopped Alice from thinking further. She paled and forcibly redirected her thoughts to the beginning.
—Gods and love were two words Alice could never connect.
Love was something only mortals cared about.
Even if Amon wasn't yet a true god, he was already infinitely close to one, and Klein... although she didn't know what that castle was, probably from the moment Klein sat at the head of the table and called himself "The Fool," the outcome was already determined.
Knowing Amon's identity, Alice couldn't imagine their love story.
...They couldn't just have a physical relationship, right?
To dispel this terrible thought, Alice picked up the Roselle diary and forced herself to focus on it.
...
In the Forsaken Land of the Gods, a man with black hair and black eyes, wearing a monocle on his right eye, leaned against the wall, eyes closed, with a playful smile on his lips.
Beside him were three similarly dressed men, sitting around him, each holding a few cards, with some already played in the middle.
It seemed their "Fight the Evil" game was halfway through.
Above the gray fog in the mysterious palace, a girl's gentle but emotionless voice sounded:
"Son of the Creator, Blasphemer, Angel of Time, God of Deception and Mischief...
"If the Amon you mentioned also likes to wear a monocle on his right eye.
"Mr. 'Sun,' are you sure the team that returned was really the original expedition team?
"A team wearing monocles?
"This Amon family you mentioned... do they all like wearing monocles?
"Maybe he's already in Silver City? Living next door to you.
"Mr. 'Sun,' I hope the next time I see you, you aren't wearing a monocle."
"Interesting." The man chuckled, opened his eyes, and adjusted his monocle.
Suddenly, as if sensing something, he lifted his gaze, looking through layers of barriers, towards Beckland.
Today, I came across something frustrating, so I thought I'd share it with you all to frustrate you too.
