Bloody Sunday Riot (1)

A red sky.

Ground covered in blood.

Hundreds of corpses scattered around the square.

Eyes that peered through the world that was already collapsing.

The world was destroyed.

In the middle of the square was Alvis who looked into the sky with crazed eyes.

"Ha… Hahaha!!!"

His arms raised high into the air as if praising the entities who destroyed the world.

His hands pushed together and his eyes closed as he prayed.

"Mad gods, oh mad gods, thank you for your grace!"

Eyes closed, tears of blood and his hands molded together.

His body was becoming inhumane.

Become one.

Become one.

Become one.

Chant and pray.

For they have come and liberated the world with their everlasting grace and power.

'Oh mad gods.'

'Let 'I' end this miserable existence.'

Alvis' head moved erratically, and in the next moment it exploded. Leaving behind a body who prayed to the gods that destroyed the world.

* * *

Cold sweat poured out of Alvis' body as he abruptly awoke from his dream.

"Hah…!"

His eyes were clouded with madness, his body shivered.

'What… was that?'

A presence which could not be replicated anywhere else, a divine entity.

'...Was it God?'

He recalled the only other divine entity he had come into contact with.

Alvis shook his head.

'It was too different…'

Alvis looked out the window, it was pitch black.

After dressing himself, Alvis went to the grandfather clock to check the time.

'...Eleven o'clock'

The current date was November 11, 1887 and another hour later it would become the next day.

'...What was that?'

He asked himself again.

It was not a prophecy of God, nor was it a regular dream.

"A… revelation?"

'It could be something else…'

Alvis wanted to consider other possibilities, although within his mind he was already convinced of his first assumption.

And so, Alvis stayed late at night in the Royal Library.

"Haha… Truly, is this life a blessing or a curse?"

All around Alvis were open books making it look quite unkept and messy.

He held his head as he confirmed his suspicions.

From magic to hypnotism, none provided the explanation except for a revelation.

Holding a more detailed account of Christianity and various famous figures within the Bible, Alvis found that the phenomena of a revelation was simply an aftermath of God's divine intervention that would soon go away after a couple of years or perhaps never.

Various figures within the past who had claimed to have talked to God experienced strange dreams that eventually came true. The underlying differences between a 'prophecy' and a 'revelation' was simply if God had intervened throughout the process.

Alvis scratched his head, unsure how to proceed.

Chirp~

"Is it morning already?"

The distinct sounds of the morning could be heard all around himself.

He felt languid and although Alvis would much rather not go to Jill the Ripper's study he had something to request of her.

As Alvis greeted the various staff and people who greeted him along the way to Jill the Ripper's study, he eventually came to face the imposing door he had passed through every day for the past few months.

Knock, knock—

"Come in."

The same emotionless and serious voice came from the inside.

Carrying a silver platter with a tea set on top, Alvis entered with formal butler etiquette.

As always just like the past few months, Jill the Ripper was buried within a large pile of paperwork where her hands moved in blurs as the paperwork neatly piled onto a fastly growing pile of completed documents.

"Good morning Princess."

"Mm…"

"I see that your proficiency in handling paperwork is growing to superhuman levels…"

Alvis' lips twitched as his hands unconsciously moved to make the optimal tea that Jill the Ripper always enjoyed.

"You have something to ask of me? What is it? I don't like wasting my time."

'...Of course she could see through me.'

Although Alvis was usually a person of few words, he was also quite an easy person to see through. If he flattered a person with flowery words, he usually wanted something from them, this time was no different.

"I would like some time off."

"...What do you mean?"

Jill the Ripper's erratic and blurry hands came to a standstill as her piercing gaze stared directly into Alvis' eyes.

"It is exactly as it means. I would like some time off."

A sticky feeling reminiscent of coagulating blood seemed to encapsulate Alvis' body.

"...Have I grown too lazy? I could have after all forcefully gained power… No that was what I should have done, the change that you brought made me too at peace…"

Jill the Ripper's mutterings sounded like indescribable sounds.

She slowly rose to her feet, Alvis was stuck, unable to move because of the black 'liquid' that restrained him.

"Why do you think you can escape from me?"

"Why do you think you are free???"

"You are mine, I won't let something as precious as you get away as if you are some trash on the roadside."

Jill the Ripper's head twitched erratically, holding Alvis as he stared right into her abyss-like eyes.

"...Calm down…?"

Alvis meekly said, a last ditch effort that yielded no efforts.

"Calm… down…?"

Jill the Ripper's hands no longer forcibly held Alvis' head.

'!?'

'...Fuck.'

Alvis looked down and saw a machete-like knife stabbed cleanly in his stomach.

'I was reckless…'

He grimaced.

'I shouldn't have let my guard down so easily…'

"Sleep, don't worry, I'll keep you safe. Sleep…"

Jill the Ripper's voice sounded melodic as black liquid covered Alvis' vision.

* * *

"...Fuck."

I couldn't help but curse.

I felt chains trapping me on my bed, making me lie down along with a stitched up wound on my stomach that stung quite heavily.

It was a dark night. How long has it been?

Now in a crazed state, Jill the Ripper most likely would intend to trap me here…

'...I should have been more careful.'

Such thoughts came to mind but would do nothing in this situation.

I sighed, my plans for the upcoming murders that Jill the Ripper would conduct would now be in ruins.

'I have to use it…'

I had to use my Arts.

'One finger… would that be enough?'

In the past I have committed suicide several times, some worse than others but the one things that this accursed disease brought is a way for me to at the very leasts fight back at my dying breath.

'Who thought I would be using this to escape iron chains?'

I concentrated.

Twisting my wrist, my pinky finger glowed an orange light.

Boom-!

Opening my eyes, my right hand was now free at the expense of part of my pinky finger.

With my arm now free, I blew up the other iron chains until I was free.

I was now missing a finger and was slowly bleeding…

I watched as the remnants of my finger linger in the air as black and glowing orange particles before disappearing completely…

"Ha…"

'Did I infect another world with this accursed disease?'

An extremely small amount of 'Originium' was now within this world. Perhaps one day in the future they will turn into Catastrophes like within the world of Terra.

I felt bitter.

I moved quickly, grabbing a hat and a briefcase. With the explosion there was no doubt that sensitive mana users such as the Royal Knights heard the small explosion I had caused.

I could no longer expect help from Jill the Ripper.

The loud footsteps of heavy armor were close.

Thankfully, the Buckingham Palace's servant quarters was located on the ground floor.

Crash!

Once the window was shattered by a gunshot, I held my hat and briefcase tightly. I began running away from the magically empowered human beings.

It wasn't even a minute later when the metal sounds of the armor was right behind me.

"Mr. Alvis, we ask you to stop in your tracks immediately!"

"Mr. Benjamin, don't you owe me a favor? Could I perhaps use that now and ask for you to stop?"

"I'm afraid not. Rather, if it wasn't the princess who asked I would have complied."

'...'

Within the Royal Knights who were loyal solely to a person named Jill the Ripper, all of them fear Jill the Ripper.

'Even that naive Benjamin became like this…'

I gritted my teeth.

"Please, don't make us hurt you! The princess is furious by your disappearance, if we don't bring you back, we'll be the ones being punished instead!"

By now the voice is so close that if I even look back I'm afraid that I'll be faced with a head of shining metal.

'...I'm sorry, please don't hold a grudge.'

I desperately said within my mind as I swiftly turned around and came face to face with a completely absurd fast moving metal armor.

I willed my finger to compress as much as possible. My Oripathy moved in conjunction creating a 'marble' of a black mineral with glowing orange lines that seemed to pulsate with energy.

For a moment the armor hesitated seeing the unexpected use of 'mana'.

I aimed it right at Benjamin's helmet.

The marble flickered, as if it was a flame. Then it expanded.

Boom!

I was flung back without resistance.

"Cough!"

'...Was I always this proficient? My Arts seemed stronger than usual…'

A ringing persisted within my ears and my sight was blurry.

However, I could not see any of the Royal Knights around myself.

"Ugh…"

I staggered up, holding my bleeding hand. I went through the twisting alleyways of London, making my way to a specific location.

* * *

Within Jill the Ripper's study.

"..."

The silence made an overwhelming pressure that made the captain of the Royal Knights tremble in fear.

"So he escaped…"

Jill the Ripper's voice seemed even more psychotic and dangerous within the captain's eyes.

"M-My apologies, I will send all of the knights in order to capture him."

"Ahh~ Why did you need to escape? I would have kept you safe, my dear."

Jill the Ripper was within a world of her own as she ignored the trembling captain who was kneeling down in front of her.

Even the captain who was locked in a state of fear couldn't help but compare Jill the Ripper to the only other person who made him feel so insignificant.

Jill the Ripper's eyes had finally acknowledged the captain.

"I suppose I don't need a failure, was his name Benjamin? He'll be the next captain."

"W-Wai—!"

The captain's final words lingered in the air as his head was cleanly on the floor, detached from his neck.

* * *

Alvis' hazy eyes had finally found his location.

"Ugh…"

'How annoying, if it wasn't for my already injured body, this walk would have been significantly easier…'

By going around St James Park, he evaded the Royal Knights until he was in front of Scotland Yard, the headquarters of the London Metropolitan Police.

'...I need to find Gia Lestrade.'

Finally emerging from the dirty alleyways, Alvis' original clean suit was now covered with dirt and grime.

"...Excuse me, is there any way I could possibly find Gia Lestrade?"

The police officer turned around facing Alvis.

"S-Sir! We need to get you to a hospital immediately!" He exclaimed after seeing Alvis hand that was missing two fingers and his haggard appearance.

"No, no… I need to meet with Gia Lestrade…"

Alvis mumbled like a madman.

The young police officer tried to convince him and even used force to some extent but failed.

"Sir, you need to go to the hospital."

The young officer said sternly, hoping to convince Alvis.

"Just… let me meet with her."

Alvis replied with a hint of desperation.

"Whatever business you have with her can wait, please follow me to the nearest hospital."

"You don't understand, just let me meet with her…"

Alvis' words felt more like a breeze. Words of a man who was soon to collapse.

"Take me to her… I need to talk to her."

'...This is getting nowhere.'

Just as the young police officer was going to try and further continue to convince Alvis, he waved his hand over to the officer.

"Come here…"

Alvis' words were getting weaker, thinking that he had finally given up the young officer beamed.

"Yes! What is it?"

"I'm sorry." He mumbled.

Alvis then put the officer in a choke hold.

"This is now a warning to all officers within Scotland Yard! If you do not comply with my request I will kill this officer!"

All other officers were shocked at the sudden change in attitude of Alvis.

"You don't believe me!?"

Alvis kept up the act of a madman and pulled out his revolver and aimed it at the officer's head.

"Comply! My requests are the following: clean bandages, a simple meeting with Gia Lestrade, a map of London and a blank magical contract!"

Still shocked, the officers looked around at the other officers not knowing what to do.

Click!

The revolver's hammer let out a clear sound.

"You all have five minutes before a bullet goes into this young man's head!"

Alvis yelled, his mind still delirious and somewhat dizzy.

The police officers scrambled around going into Scotland Yard.

Within three minutes a police officer had completed his request for a meeting with Gia Lestrade, a map, and bandages.

The quivering officer in Alvis' arms was finally let go as he ran into Scotland Yard.

"This is also another warning for Scotland Yard, I am a mana user and if my requests are falsified or tampered with then I plan on exploding myself, taking down the entire building!"

After the words were said, Alvis walked into the building finding only one person.

"...Come this way please, Miss Lestrade is waiting inside."

'...Was this the best idea?'

Alvis sighed within his mind as his sporadic plan had already led him this far.

The entire office was seemingly abandoned, paperwork was left unattended and the only police officer Alvis saw thus far was the man in front of him.

It could have also been because it was late within the night.

"She is in this room along with the other two items you requested. The magical contract will be given shortly by another officer."

"I see… I understand, thank you."

The man stiffly nodded before he left into the confines of the office.

'Let's meet the so-called idol of the police division.'

Alvis thought with an already exhausted mind.
