Capítulo 102: Redemption

Just as the thought crossed her mind, Cora picked up her phone to call Derek and actually asked him for his help.

Cora's hands shook as she dialed Derek's number. The phone rang twice before he answered, his voice steady and familiar, grounding her in the swirling storm of her emotions.

Cora cleared her throat. "Derek?" she called and Derek frowned.

"Cora?" Derek asked, uncertainly since it was an unsaved number and the voice sounded very much like Cora's.

"Derek, I need your help," she blurted out, not bothering with pleasantries and Derek's frown deepened as he tried to wonder what was going on.

There was a brief pause on the other end, filled with the ambient noise of the office and not hearing anything from Derek, caused uncertainty and doubt to gnaw at her.
