A very strong wind threw Madeline off the ground, landing her harshly. An immense pain shot through her the moment she reached the ground. She coughed, wincing in pain.

"Madeline," Draven came running towards her, squatting until he reached her. The force of the wind had been so unexpected that he didn't have time to stop it before it threw her. Now cradling her and seeing her struggle in pain, he frowned; this wasn't ordinary.

Madeline barely opened her eyes, but she relaxed in his embrace. A rush of air went out from her mouth, "Dra...," she began to speak but he hushed her, placing his head on her temple and whispering, "It's okay, I am here," he spoke softly. Fear cradled him, fear of what could have stopped the wind. Surely, it was not Saul; the vampire had left because he is scared to come any closer to Madeline, seeing what her light did to him before.
