"Boss, will we still be able to visit the terraced garden in the future?" Yuli asked with some concern.
Yuli had put a lot of effort into the terraced garden, spending her free time there tending to the Gracidea flowers. Now that a mythical Pokémon was living there, she worried that she might no longer be able to visit, which would be quite a blow for her.
"Haha, don't worry. I've already talked to Shaymin, and even the weekly supply of Gracidea flowers for the flower shop won't be affected."
"You can also visit the terraced garden to play with Shaymin when you have free time. Shaymin has a friendly personality, but whether it comes out to play with you depends on your skills," Rex said.
Although Rex frequently visited Shaymin, he wasn't sure if Shaymin would fully accept him, so he decided to let Yuli and the others try. They might end up becoming friends with Shaymin.
"Really? That's great! I'm sure I'll become friends with Shaymin!" Yui said excitedly.
If she hadn't known before, it would have been fine, but now that she knew about the mythical Pokémon's wonders, her immense curiosity drove her to interact with and learn more about Shaymin.
As for Karen, while she was curious too, she didn't want to invest too much energy. She was focused on training her Taillow daily.
Whenever she had time, Karen would train Taillow and frequently battle with the farm Pokémon to gain experience. Though she wasn't a trainer before, with Rex's guidance and the resources available on the farm, Taillow's strength grew rapidly.
The farm had training methods, Pokéblocks, healing techniques, and opponents, all of which supported Taillow's swift development.
Although Karen could use the farm's Swellow for flying, she hoped to soon have her own flying Pokémon. Once Taillow evolved into Swellow and could carry her, she planned to catch another flying-type Pokémon.
Karen enjoyed her time working on the farm but felt she needed a lifelong goal to pursue. Her goal was to become a specialist in flying-type Pokémon, though she knew she would remain dependent on Rex's farm for a long time.
As an orphan, she understood that without the resources provided by the farm, she wouldn't be able to sustain her dream.
Yuli was more concerned about the terraced garden, and whether she could become friends with Shaymin wasn't as crucial to her.
At noon, Rex invited Uncle Henry and his Machoke to a meal.
Initially, Uncle Henry refused, saying he had brought his own lunch, but he eventually gave in to Rex and Yuli's warm invitation.
The meal prepared by Yuli and the others was delicious, and both Uncle Henry and his Machoke were very satisfied, praising them continuously.
After lunch, Uncle Henry didn't rest but continued working with his Machoke. By around 4 PM, he completed the construction of the two cabins.
Rex briefly inspected the work and was very satisfied. He acknowledged Uncle Henry's efforts and promptly settled the payment.
Then, Rex went into one of the cabins and released the Combee.
When he informed the Combee that the cabin was theirs and they could make a nest there, they were very pleased.
Though the Combee were given to Rex by the queen, he had not treated them poorly. He fed them Pokéblocks at every meal, and they had discovered many flowers outside for collecting nectar.
For Combee, as long as there are flowers around, they consider the place their home. Additionally, once they were independent, the female Combee had the chance to evolve into a Vespiquen and become the leader of their group.
In their original group, as long as the Vespiquen was present, it would instinctively release a suppressive substance that prevented the female Combee from evolving into a Vespiquen.
At Rex's farm, this constraint was effectively lifted, and a new Vespiquen could emerge only if one of them evolved into a Vespiquen.
Among the 10 Combee Rex had captured, 4 were males and 6 were females, a selection he made intentionally.
In a normal Combee group, most are males, who cannot evolve into a Vespiquen. The remaining 6 females are the key to evolving into a Vespiquen.
As for the 4 Combee eggs still incubating, even if they contain female Combee, they might not surpass the mature females in evolving into a Vespiquen unless the 6 females had very poor qualifications.
After arranging the Combee's new home, Rex left them to settle in. With plenty of flowers nearby, they didn't need to fly far for nectar, and he only needed to inform the Taillow about their safety.
Next, Rex went to where Snorlax was sleeping. Snorlax was still sound asleep, which gave Rex a headache about how to wake it up.
He couldn't just call Machoke to wake it up with a beating; Snorlax hadn't done anything wrong. It had been living comfortably on the farm, eating well, and even providing a soft belly for Yuli and the others to play with.
Quickly, Rex came up with a solution. He placed his hand on Snorlax and used energy, flooding it with life energy to heal its old injuries.
As Snorlax's injuries were healed, it would use up its stored energy, causing it to feel hungry and wake up sooner.
Sure enough, it wasn't long before Rex felt Snorlax stirring, and it was clear that Snorlax was waking up. He quickly stepped back, not wanting to be crushed if Snorlax rolled over during its awakening.
Soon, Snorlax sat up and scratched its head in confusion, feeling hungry sooner than usual, as if it had just eaten.
Just as it was about to look for Yuli for food, it noticed its trainer nearby.
Snorlax recognized Rex, who always provided good food, so it walked over to Rex and opened its mouth, waiting to be fed.
Rex was a bit helpless but had some Big Eater Pokéblocks with him, which he threw into Snorlax's mouth.
Snorlax squinted its eyes in happiness as it chewed and swallowed, feeling full in its stomach.
After eating, Snorlax yawned, clearly ready to find a place to sleep again.
"Snorlax, don't sleep yet. I'm taking you to a new place!"
Rex quickly stopped Snorlax from falling back asleep and led it to the newly built cabin. To accommodate Snorlax's size, the cabin door was specially large.
"This will be your home from now on. If you like it here, you can sleep here; if you prefer outside, that's fine too."
Although Rex had built the cabin, he didn't intend to force Snorlax to live there. He left the choice to Snorlax.
