As the sun shines on a certain basement, you can see a brown haired teen semi-naked his body sweaty all over, but the unusual thing you could notice the most is the 6 human sized hands coming from the ground that were doing something akin to a prayer and 3 other floating in the air.

'It seems morning came, huh' with a thought I make the 6 hands vanish from the air.
The all-nighter was a success
More importantly, the theory was right on the money.
Using a sacrifice to enhance the output of my power, to be honest the sacrifice idea was plagiarized.
For the enhancement to take place, I am required to create a specific ritual or parts of at least.
The ritual requires chanting and Mudras
All of those are not requirements per se, but are more of a checklist it goes as this.

The Vow of Patience : the output of power possesed by the user is increased up to a certain percentage in the events one of the requirements is met before utilizing the power in question.
A one hand sign gives 10% increase
A two hand sign gives 20% increase
One verse of sutra gives 20% increase
A ceremonial dance gives minimum 30% increase or a maximum 150%

I gave the gear casting time.
These were the basics, I discovered this comes with certain drawbacks, like with the increased output comes increased consumption of energy, but it's not as severe as it could have been without the binding vow.
If you look hard enough, you could see the clear advantage I have with such a vow.
The hand sign requirement is a problem for most, but to a handy person (pun intended), its fulfillment is easy.
Too easy even, At the moment I can get 6 arms to do mudras, that's 60% increase which lets me increase my focus and capacity to make 3 more arms, but those arms are not like the rest, they are much sturdier, much dexterous, an improved version in general.
Pretty much I have 3 heavy logs compact in a hand sized form with a radius of 8 meters to use in combat, unfortunately this process drain my stamina like crazy, giving me a timer of about 7 minutes before I collapse.
You win some, and you lose some, but this is a very good omen, and a huge improvement from the paper limbs I was creating earlier.
Anyway, it is time to go to school, I go upstairs and take a shower, to be honest I don't want to go due to my fatigue but not going is going to rise some questions from the devils.
I mean, if you find a stray devil dead in an abandoned warehouse and one of the students misses class the next day that would be the first lead to investigate, I know "Tomato" devil will not really notice such coincidence because she is quite naïve and unserious, but her best friend is very observant.
Now, I need an approximate timeline to follow.
From what I know the story starts unfolding in the third year of school, which means I have 1 year to reach that, which means in 1 year I need to reach the medium ultimate class in strength.
I also know that the fallens still have not come to Kuoh at this point, their arrival should just before the story by some time, I am sure I will know if they came to Kuoh when they approach me.
I should keep an eye on any girl that asks me on a date.
Other than these, any other plotline is way far off for me to plan for.
Hopping out of the shower, I wear the butler cosplay they call a uniform that this school required and go.

Reaching Kuoh did not take long, a peaceful 10-minute walk lead me to the aristocratic school, seriously the academy was huge, shit was 3 schools put together.
Walking in from the entrance I was bombarded by weird looks all over from the fancy school girls, this was the first year they accepted male students, so all the girls that attended the school during the all-girl era were weirded out by the presence of a male.
If they gave me an unremarkable individual these looks, I wonder what will happen to them when they meet the dumb and dumber trio.

That was fast, wait, how did they manage to do that? This should be their first year it's the damn top of the morning, the second day even, since when they met.
First day and perverts do miracles, this is quite ironic even for this world.
The pervert problem was for the girls to solve, and I have classes to attend.
Classes were as expected, soul-crushingly boring, nothing was worth listening to, so I took the courtesy to start trying to sense mana, my idea was the place was filled with supernatural creatures from the staff to some students, which in turn meant the place was a point of high density mana.
Was scared of the devils finding me out? Well to a certain extent.
If they found out I will get an offer of recruitment, which I would just refuse, then they probably won't give up, but they are not the type to do anything dangerous.
Even if they were devils, they are still two spoiled teen girls, plus they probably can feel my gear anyway, which makes them aware of me.
The only reason I don't revel myself is keeping my cards hiding, the encounter with the main cast will happen sooner or later.
I will expect an invitation to an old building or the student council.
