Capítulo 257: Can't Reject the Mate

THIRD PERSON'S POV

"Have you lost your mind?" This was the first thing that came out of Alpha Maverick's mouth after he recovered from his initial shock. 

The woman smiled. She was full of confidence and a mature charm, her eyes full of grace as she looked back at the alpha. 

"Certainly. I have realized what I lost and have come back to ask for a second chance at love. You didn't reject me for so long that you won't be liable to reject me immediately either," Cordelia said, repeatedly reminding him of his mistake. 

Maverick clenched his fists before looking at Valencia. Seeing the light in her eyes dimming and her once-beaming face so dull like this, he felt his heart skip a beat. 

He had already made her disappointed once in the evening; he would be damned if his woman thought he was going back to this woman who betrayed him and gave him the biggest sorrow and trauma of his life.
