As Harper and Rachel emerged from the bed and breakfast, their hands intertwined and their steps in sync, the same young woman from earlier suddenly stepped in front of them, blocking their path.
"I'm sorry, I'm really sorry, but I just had to make sure," she said, her expression earnest.
Harper's brow furrowed as she instinctively pulled Rachel closer to her side. "What do you want?" she asked, her voice laced with a protective edge as she spoke in German.
The woman hesitated for a moment, her gaze darting between the two women. "I just... I really fell in love with her," she confessed, her cheeks flushing with embarrassment. "I just want to make sure that she's really not single. Please."
Harper's expression darkened, her grip on Rachel tightening. "You can't see me? I'm right here, in front of you, and you still can't tell?" She retorted, her frustration evident.
Creation is hard, cheer me up!
