The small ice cube exploded directly creating a thick ball of smoke that enveloped both Jane and Lucius.
They couldn't see anything through the dense fog, so Lucius waved his hand, sending the smoke swirling away.
"Lucius..." A chilling voice filled with murderous intent pierced through the haze.
He didn't have to hear this voice twice and immediately knew that it was Alaine. He looked towards her before switching his gaze to Jane who was still on her knees with her hands on his thighs.
"A-ah... i-is... that your ex?" Jane stammered, looking up at him.
"...." Lucius remained silent.
Sigh~
"Go take care of the little lady. I'll be back in a while... I think." He added uncertainty.
Alaine was much more powerful than himself after all. Even if he used all the white faires to have a magic power equal to hers, she still would have a lot more spells than him.
Jane nodded her head before getting to Bianca's side which was still protected by a small ice cubicle.
"Fortunately she didn't wake up.,," Lucius sighed in relief, looking at Bianca's sleeping body through the ice.
Then, he got up and directly stared at Alaine's murderous gaze.
The tension in the air was palpable, almost suffocating. Alaine's eyes were sharp as her body radiated a very dangerous aura.
"Lucius... what were you doing?" She took a step towards it as her body was completely enveloped by a weird golden flame.
Lucius could feel the heat reaching him despite being more than twenty meters away from her.
'It seems that this will end up in a fight... fuck.'
He raised his hand and immediately, a bunch of ice spears appeared floating around his body.
"Aah..." He let out a cold breath before clenching his fists which made the spears disappear.
That action made Alaine raise her eyebrows in surprise.
"Look... why did you suddenly attack?" He, instead of attacking her, decided to simply ask.
"Why...? Why? WHY?" she repeated, her voice growing louder and more furious.
The heat coming from her body had also increased by a ton which made Lucius create a stronger ice barrier around Bianca and Jane.
Then, he simply decided to make... a decisive retreat.
"HUH?! WHERE ARE YOU GOING?! YOU CAN'T ESCAPE!" Alaine immediately dashed towards him and was slowly getting to his back.
'Her speed is higher than mine... she'll catch up to me anytime soon.'
Looking around, Lucius started searching for some kind of spot that would help him in this kind of situation.
After all, he knew how deeply Alaine was obsessed with him. No sane person would love the same person who killed her 998 times.
'Honestly... if I simply decided to date her or something... I'd be fine, however... that title of hers is too freaking horrible.'

That's the sole reason Lucius doesn't want to be with her. Because, they're not lovers still, but if they indeed became 'lovers'...
He would be affected by this skill.
It was a massive loophole that he had noticed since he saw it, mainly because he still didn't feel anything for Alaine.
If not, he'd probably be on his knees for her or something like that.
For example, if he had one favorability point for her, it would jump to nine hundred and ninety-eight points!
He would become obsessed with her instantly.

Alaine grabbed Lucius's left arm and slammed him against a wall, shattering it.
"Hagh..." He groaned slightly.
He wiped the blood from his lips before staring at Alaine who was slowly walking towards him in some kind of abandoned building.
"Did you really think you could escape? How funny..." She let out a small giggle.

Before Lucius could respond, he vomited a mouthful of blood, seeing Alaine suddenly in front of him with a blade piercing his chest.
He quickly used his mana to check his condition and found the sword hadn't hit any vital organs.
It was perfectly aimed to cause him pain without killing him.
"Ahh~... my dear Lucius..." she mumbled as a visible blush appeared on her cheeks and her eyes softened.
"I... love you so much... but yet..."
"You still want to have some fun with whores...!" She took out the blade before stabbing him in yet another spot.
"Haugk!"
And like the first time, it didn't pierce any organs...
"Am I not enough?" she added, stroking his cheek softly.
'F-fuck... why can't I move my body... did she use that... damned paralysis skill?! Why isn't that shit a poison!'
'If it was... fuck!?'
Without anywhere to escape, Lucius had a faint idea in mind...
