Capítulo 4: Incident

Yasushi walked behind Jingliu, his eyes shifting from her graceful way of moving to the three suspicious-looking male students following after her. He knew who they were; they were the school's well-known troublemakers, famous for their antics that often got them into trouble.

In Japan, where proper behavior and academic focus are very important, seeing these kinds of people felt almost silly to Yasushi, like something you'd see in an anime show. Yet, he was drawn to watching this clash of different people, a strange mixture of society's norms and rebellious attitudes.

Their walk took them through winding side streets and across busy crossings until Jingliu stopped at a nice small bakery. A short time later, she emerged carrying a bag overflowing with warm bread, delicious baked treats, and other tempting sweet things. Yasushi couldn't help but smile as she took a small bite of a cupcake with pretty pink frosting.

Jingliu left the bakery, her steps taking her down a skinny street like she was following a set plan. It was right at this moment that the three troublemakers chose to put their scheme into motion.

Quickly, they moved closer to her, only to stop when she suddenly took a turn into an alleyway. It was a dead-end, as if it were a foregone conclusion.

Turning to face the guys who had been following her, Jingliu's eyes showed a burning anger that fit the tense mood. "What the hell do you want?" Her question broke the quiet, a challenge wrapped in a don't-fuck-with-me attitude.

"Don't be such a bitch, we just wanna have a friendly talk," one of the boys shot back. You could see a scar under his eye, and he had a rough-looking mustache that made him look like he'd been around.

"It's just business, nothing personal. Save your hate for the guy who hired us," another one said, showing his buck teeth as he rubbed his hands together. He was clearly excited about the money they were about to make. His bright blue afro made the whole thing feel even weirder.

"I–" The last boy, his blonde hair a mess and his tan skin looking different from his brown eyes, tried to get a word in, but Jingliu shut him down quickly.

"Enough with the drama. You guys sound like dumb bad guys from a crappy TV show," she said, her words sharp and cutting, leaving the three boys speechless for a moment. Then, as if someone had given them a signal, they burst out laughing. Their laughter bounced off the alley walls while Jingliu looked at them with narrowed eyes.

"Don't you get it, you dumbass? We're not here to talk. We're here to show you what's what," the first boy with the mustache said, his voice showing off and also sounding threatening. His words hung in the air, a clear threat that stayed there like a bad storm coming.

Jingliu sighed, sounding like she'd given up, and put her bag of treats on the ground like she meant business. Then, without even hesitating, she started stretching out her body, which seemed completely out of place in the tense alleyway and confused the three boys watching her.

One of the guys got brave enough to try and ask what she was doing, but before he could finish his question, Jingliu moved forward like lightning. Super fast, she got in front of the boy with buck teeth and hit him right in the stomach with her elbow.

As he bent over, trying to get air, she quickly followed up by kicking him hard between his legs. He fell to the ground, out cold like a shadow had swallowed him up.

The two remaining guys just stood there, frozen, too shocked to move. Jingliu took advantage of it, landing a hard punch on the blonde-haired guy's jaw, which made him stagger for a second.

Before he could get himself together, she hit him again, this time with a well-aimed blow to his nuts. As he fell to the ground, she finished him off with a punch to his chest, the sound of the hit echoing like a quiet drum in the still alley, and he went out like his friend.

The leader of the group, the guy with the mustache, stuttered in shock, "W-w-what the fuck!?" His complaint didn't last long, because Jingliu hit him hard in the stomach, causing him to double over and start puking.

With a cold calm in her face and a mean edge in her voice, she said, "Keep up this shit, and I won't just leave you with bruises. I'll make sure you can never have kids. And tell your weak boss to face me himself. Sending you losers to do his dirty work just shows how much of a coward he is."

In a flash, she grabbed the guy's head and slammed it against the hard wall of the alleyway before throwing him to the ground. The three troublemakers were now sprawled out and unconscious, all taken down by Jingliu's quick actions.

Jingliu turned around sharply, staring at the only way out of the alley, where Yasushi stood with his mouth wide open, phone in hand, recording everything that had just happened. Once he realized she saw him, he quickly stopped recording and put his phone away.

Without a word, Jingliu picked up her bag and walked to Yasushi, standing next to him and glancing at him sideways. "Are you with those guys?" Her voice stayed calm and controlled, not giving away any of the chaos that had just occurred.

"No," Yasushi said, sounding calm. "I saw them following you earlier, so I started following, too. I've been recording since we went past a certain street in the city. If you need proof in case they try to sue you or anything, I can give it to you." He sounded sure of himself, and like he really wanted to help her deal with what happened.

"I'll remember that," Jingliu said before walking out of the alley like she owned the place.

Yasushi turned to watch her go, letting out a breath that showed how impressed he was. "Damn, that was cool," he said quietly to himself, his eyes stuck on Jingliu as she walked away. She was like a total badass from an anime show, someone you wouldn't want to mess with.

He had originally planned to record the fight and jump in if he had to, but Jingliu's quick and powerful moves left him amazed. She had handled those punks without any trouble, leaving him with nothing to do except offer his recordings if she had any legal issues.

Looking back at the guys who were out cold, Yasushi made a silent choice. "Nope, I'm not helping those assholes," he said to himself as he walked away. This meeting with Jingliu was stuck in his head, a reminder of her strength and determination that he wouldn't be forgetting anytime soon.

That night, in the quiet of Yasushi's room, he was just scrolling through social media, not finding anything interesting, when suddenly the page refreshed and showed a bunch of posts with the three punks all messed up — bloody and bruised. Curious, Yasushi started looking at the comments, where people were going crazy trying to figure out who had beat them up.

Yasushi smirked as he read through the reactions, knowing exactly what had happened earlier. Among the people from the popular groups at school, one person was noticeably missing — Jishiha. He was known for his weird comments, so his silence made people wonder, and some even tagged him in the posts.

After a long ten minutes, Jishiha finally said something with a strange comment: "Let's hope they get what they deserve for stepping out of line." His words were confusing and just made the whole thing more interesting, leaving everyone wondering what the punks had really done and what was going to happen to them.

"I didn't think you'd go that far that fast," Yasushi muttered to himself, shaking his head in a mix of disbelief and acceptance. Right then, his phone started ringing, cutting off his thoughts. It was his friend Furuya on the other end.

"Dude! Have you seen the news!?" Furuya's voice exploded through the phone, with clear excitement.

"Yeah, I just saw it. What's your take?" Yasushi replied, sounding a bit more reserved.

"And? What do you think about it?" Furuya pushed eagerly.

Yasushi took a pause before answering carefully, "Honestly, not much. Those three were bound to get what they deserved sooner or later. You bully the wrong person for long enough, and you will eventually pay the price. I wouldn't be surprised if it was a group of students who were fed up and decided to handle it themselves." He hid his partial role in the events, keeping his true feelings secret as he navigated the conversation with Furuya.

"Haha, yeah, we Japanese are usually quiet and just deal with stuff silently," Furuya chuckled back.

Yasushi nodded, but he was thinking about something else. "Yeah, but thinking about the situation, it's not impossible. Anyway, was that all you wanted to call about? It'd probably be better to talk about it in person at school. We'll get to hear what other people are thinking."

"Good point. Let's just talk about this tomorrow then. See you at school!" Furuya said loudly before hanging up, not even letting Yasushi say anything back.

Yasushi sighed, shaking his head at how quickly teenagers move on to the next thing. "Teenagers and their drama," he muttered, putting his phone on the nightstand. "Tomorrow could be a shitshow if they find out Jingliu was involved. I could end up getting dragged into it, too."

With a final sigh, Yasushi got into bed, a feeling of worry settling over him as he thought about the potential chaos that might be coming the next day.
