Capítulo 239: 239: The letter

The security around the estate was… surprisingly low. No, even saying low was an underestimation.

It would be more accurate to say it was a vacuum, a void where security should have been.

Sui had walked down five corridors without any guard stopping her or the Concubine. 

She was sure that a part of it had to do with the cloak she was wearing, but a more significant part was that no security was available.

The pair only ran into someone once they reached the estate's front gate, and the guard seemed chill.

"Ah, what are you doing out here, mister priest? I thought the ceremony was about to start, and that was where you were heading. Didn't you come the opposite way?"

The guard asked Sui, but there was no hint of suspicion on his face. 

It felt almost like the guard was certain Sui could do no wrong. This brainwashing was intense, and Sui felt terrible for the guard.
