The older generations of the traditionalist faction in the village were heavily resistant to the new tech being rapidly integrated into the village and tried to drag me into the matter. Key word here being tried. See despite my living nearly completely in tune with nature and thus heavy lack of tech use I wasn't anti-tech by any stretch of the imagination. Humans created tools and innovated, it was just what we did. Deciding to pick and choose which innovations we wanted for some retarded reason like it being unnatural was the height of foolishness and I made it clear I wanted no part of it.-
There was a big difference between innovation and unnatural creation and I more than any understood what that difference was. An example of unnatural creation was something like that deplorable body swapping technique that Orochimaru used. It broke the natural order of the world rather than simply operated in a fashion that still conformed to the rules like most innovations. A great deal of powerful jutsu were unnatural creations but still got used by these traditionalists which was counter to their whole argument.-
Hell even my own techniques were quite heavily considered unnatural to a very heavy degree so agreeing with these fools would make me a hypocrite. All of this to say when these people had the gall to come to my home and try and recruit me to stop the changes I was less than pleased.
"I'm surprised those old goats had the confidence to get anywhere near your house. It's no secret in the village that when you first moved there you clashed with the clans neighboring you and walked out of it unscathed. Your reclusiveness and lack of political interest is also a well known fact for any who felt like looking." my sensei said with an amused smile after I told her what those old folks had tried.
"I get that politics are nearly unavoidable in my position but of all the things they chose to try and get me involved in they choose this? Do they honestly not realize how many jutsu would be banned if we didn't ignore how unnatural they were or are they just that stupid?" I asked annoyed.
"There is a difference you know." she pointed out.
"The only difference is that one is done using chakra and the other technology. It's not like the stuff is even unnatural as it has to follow the rules of the world to work anyways." I said with a scoff.
"Be that as it may you won't make those old bastards change there minds with such an argument." she said with a shrug.
"I know but I'm just so annoyed that they dared to try and drag me in to this nonsense and interrupt my training." I said honestly.
She shrugged "You could always just kick them out if they bother you too much, it's what I do." she said with a smirk.
"I am intimately aware of how stubborn and unreasonable you can be. What was it like twenty or thirty times that I had to stop you from knocking the teeth out of some drunk bastard who was too plastered to realize his error in pestering you?" i asked and she laughed.
"To be fair who asked them not to take a hint the first few times?" she asked with a smile.
"That would be the alcohol and a few times YOU were the one who was causing problems, honestly how you could make so many sloppy mistakes is lost on me." I said with a sigh.
We chatted for a bit after that before the topic finally became one worth mentioning.
"We recently discovered that "thing" you mentioned previously scoping around the edge of the village thanks to Katsuyu being generous enough to allow some of her smallest bodies to be permanently summoned to the forest around the village. They are small enough that I regenerate my chakra faster than they use it so she notified me immediately when she spotted that mark you put on it." my sensei said seriously.
"Was it just probing the defenses or did it seem to have a goal in mind?" I asked very interested in knowing the answer.
"We aren't sure exactly as after reaching the edge of the barrier seals on the walls and we assume sensing the changes we had made to them it left. We haven't managed to track it back to where ever it came from as it moves too fast underground and is seemingly unimpeded by trees or rocks." she said honestly.
"Hold on the barrier seals were changed, since when?" i asked surprised at that nugget of information.
"During the festival actually. The grandmasters of sealing here in Konoha have been working to reverse engineer some of the concepts behind that seal that was on that egg your crane came from. Until now we hadn't had any place to even try to work off of for three dimensional seals but that egg changed everything. The changes to the village barrier is the first successful three dimensional seal ever deployed by us and even has space-time ninjutsu sensing capabilities so not even that can be used to sneak into the village." she said with a proud look.
"Sounds impressive and also highly worrisome for a spy like that thing." I said with a chuckle.
"That was the idea, after that incident with Itachi and his companion we all agreed that we needed to update the barrier. An S rank shinobi rampaging in the village would be quite bad for us after all." she said honestly.
The conversation ended a bit after that though as she still had to do her work and I was kinda taking up time she could use for that purpose. She still hadn't gotten past the whole "tradition" issue she was having with using shadow clones so it still took her most of the day to finish up a good amount.-
I went home after that and got to work on my chakra armor again as it was still quite slow going in the progress department. I knew that would be the case when I began the project so it didn't bother me any. Liberal use of shadow clones caused my refinement and improvement of my already existing foundation for the technique to be slow but constant. Ironically "the pinnacle of shape transformation" or the [rasengan] as it was called was NOT in fact living up to it's title after I learned it.-
Getting ahold of the information on the technique was easy with my current position in the village and then using that incomplete information to recreate it myself took maybe three days at most. I was already using most of the principles behind the thing for my chakra armor but the two techniques had obviously gone in two separate directions developmentally. The [rasengan] was compact and for the most part stable while the armor of mine was spread out and more fluid in nature.
