Capítulo 80: Chapter 80: Assault of the Bloody Wolf Demon

Although Hilda's unconventional tactics caught him off guard, a loss was still a loss.

Hilda also paid a price; casting consecutive binding spells depleted her magic power, and even the wings on her back couldn't be sustained.

Gasping heavily, she stared fixedly at the remaining cigarette in Feld's mouth and walked straight towards him.

Seeing this, Feld suggested, "Let me go first, and I'll give you another..."

Before he could finish his sentence, Hilda had snatched the cigarette, ignoring Feld's shocked expression, and took a puff.

Immediately after, "Cough, cough, cough!" Hilda started coughing violently and hastily threw away the butt of the cigarette.

"Tastes awful... cough, cough..."

Feld's mouth twitched, and it took him a while before he spoke, "Can you release me now?"

But all he heard from Hilda was the steady sound of snoring.

Feld was stunned: Hilda had fallen asleep. After a few coughs, she sat on the grass, looking drowsy, and then fell asleep in front of him.

"Wait, don't sleep, let me go first!" Feld shouted, but Hilda gave no response, sleeping soundly.

Feld sighed in resignation. Fortunately, the magical restraints didn't last long, and soon they began to dissipate, granting Feld his freedom once again.

He extinguished the smoldering cigarette butt and the flames on the dry grass, then turned to look at the sleeping beauty-like Hilda with a wry smile, gently cradling her in his arms and carrying her back to the camp.

Qi Qi looked at the sleeping Hilda under the recliner and asked Feld, "Is she asleep, meow?"

Feld nodded. "We must never let her drink again during missions, or there will be trouble."

He raised an eyebrow and looked around. "Qi Qi."

"What's wrong, meow?"

"Do you think... someone is watching us?"

"No one's watching, meow."

"It's strange... Stay alert; there may be lurkers nearby. Keep your guard up while I check around."

"Understood, meow!"

Shortly after, Feld returned, and everything at the camp seemed normal, with no signs of unusual individuals. Perhaps it was just a false alarm?

Feld remained skeptical; although the feeling of being watched was vague, his intuition was strong. Physically, there was nothing unusual, maybe just a passing glance from a stray monster.

He comforted himself in this way. Meanwhile, on a mountain peak several kilometers away, an old man in a black cloak breathed lightly.

"Calm down... calm down..."

"This kid hasn't done anything; I can't intervene, I can't intervene..."

"Damn it, kid, if you dare touch Miss even a hair, I'll tear you apart!"

Feeling the sensation of being watched, Feld remained vigilant; indeed, someone was secretly monitoring him. It was imperative to patrol again.

When Hilda woke up, it was already dusk.

As soon as she opened her eyes, she noticed Feld training Qi Qi in the camp.

Qi Qi was sweating profusely, everything seemed normal, as if nothing had happened yesterday.

However, when she caught sight of Feld's figure, Hilda couldn't help but blush slightly.

Feld turned back at that moment and softly asked, "Awake?"

Hilda nodded in response, getting up with a hint of apology, "Sorry for keeping you..."

"No worries." Feld waved it off casually, then smiled, "I should have known your alcohol tolerance is low, just one drink is enough."

Confused, Hilda tilted her head and asked, "Is my alcohol tolerance really that bad?"

"One drink and you're drunk, isn't that bad?" Feld countered.

"I got drunk?" Hilda grew even more puzzled.

Feld was briefly taken aback, then tentatively asked, "Don't you remember?"

Hilda pondered for a moment, shaking her head to indicate forgetfulness, "I only remember eating barbecue, drinking, feeling dizzy, and then waking up now..."

"Do you remember what happened after you got drunk?" he asked again.

"I don't remember... What happened?" Hilda asked nervously.

Feld's lips twitched, but he ultimately shook his head, "Nothing."

"You're lying to me; something definitely happened," Hilda insisted.

"I really didn't." Feld insisted, although his eyes flickered slightly, despite his usual ease at lying.

"Really?" Hilda's sharp gaze seemed not to notice, but instead, she looked puzzled and sought confirmation once more.

"Really." Feld nodded firmly.

"Okay, I believe you," Hilda said, crossing her arms and walking away briskly, saying, "Sorry for sleeping so long, I'll patrol around for a bit."

Feld reminded her, "Don't go too far in case you get lost."

"I got it." Hilda waved back without turning her head.

Feld sighed lightly.

It was fortunate that she forgot; otherwise, Hilda might have gone crazy.

She had indeed been very rebellious at the time.

However, he didn't know that the Hilda facing away from him now had a complexion as rosy as peach blossoms.

Didn't remember?

No, her memory was still fresh!

Even the details of what happened after getting drunk were vividly etched in her mind!

Including snatching the cigarette from Feld's hand and taking a puff, she remembered it all too well.

In reality, she wouldn't cough because of smoke.

Although Feld's cigarettes were strong, for someone of her Platinum-tier strength, breathing shouldn't have been a problem.

Yet, when she took the cigarette into her mouth and inhaled deeply, she realized it was one that Feld had smoked.

There was still moisture from the tobacco on his lips.

So, she coughed.

At that moment, she dared not look Feld in the eye, nor did she want to respond to him.

Yes, Hilda chose to escape reality and pretend to be asleep.

As a result, under the influence of alcohol, she really fell asleep.

Upon waking up, those scenes replayed in her mind over and over until now.

She slowly lowered the hand covering her cheek, her fingers drawing circles on the ground, reminiscing about Feld's firm tone just now.

Perhaps to spare her embarrassment, Feld had lied and said nothing had happened.

Her gaze seemed somewhat vacant, but then she pouted.

"Big liar..."

However, she suddenly burst into laughter.

For some reason, even though she hated deception, she found Feld's shifting eyes when he denied anything had happened amusing.

Then, she reached up to lightly touch her lips, as if the moist cigarette butt was still in her mouth.

After that, she shook her head and patted her own cheeks.

"Stop thinking about it, nothing happened..."

Yet, she couldn't help but laugh, her fingers adding three small circles within the larger one, symbolizing eyes and a pig's nose.

On either side of the pig's nose, she drew leaf-like pig ears, a mischievous smile spreading across her face.

"It was my fault this time, so I can't blame you."

"Although you lied to me, I'll forgive you for now."

"Don't lie to me again next time, okay?"

"Big silly pig!"

With that said, she stood up, clapped her knees, and turned to walk into the depths of the forest. "Alright, let's start patrolling. This time, I'll definitely remember the way back home, so I won't be teased by the big silly pig."

Night fell over the camp.

Feld raised his eyebrows, glancing at the time.

It had been an hour and a half, and Hilda hadn't returned yet.

Did she get lost again?

Feld had a splitting headache; he shouldn't have let her go out in the first place.

But at that time, for some reason, when he saw Hilda's clear eyes, he felt uneasy inside, so he didn't stop her.

Thinking back to that feeling of being watched, Feld couldn't sit still any longer.

So, he got up, called Qi Qi over, and prepared to set out to find her.

However, just then, rustling sounds came from the distance.

Feld's heart leaped; he thought Hilda had returned.

But in an instant, his pupils constricted, and he quickly pulled Qi Qi back.

In the blink of an eye, a black figure leaped out from the bushes.

No, more precisely, it flew out from the air.

Then it landed a few meters away from Feld.

He looked over, his brow furrowed.

"Help... help me..." the voice was weak and hoarse, interspersed with the sound of bursting blood bubbles, coming from a man covered in blood, with injuries all over, and a twisted and deformed leg.

Feld didn't rashly approach but instead kept his gaze on the patch of grass where the man lay.

It was pitch black there, difficult to discern.

Tonight, without a moon, the sky was dark, and the stars were dim, making it impossible for Feld to see what was happening in the dark grass.

However, Qi Qi could see clearly.

"Big guy, there's something there, meow!" Qi Qi pointed to the dark bushes.

Feld nodded; although he couldn't see, he could sense and smell it.

That familiar, repugnant smell of blood.

It didn't come from the man covered in blood.

In the dark of the night, everything was silent, not even the chirping of insects or the singing of birds could be heard.

Feld tightened his grip on the heavy hammer, holding his breath and focusing his senses.

Then, a massive black shadow burst out of the bushes, accompanied by a sharp roar.

A fierce gleam flashed in Feld's eyes as he swung the giant hammer.

"Bang!!"

As he watched the figure fly out like a kite with a broken string, and the black shadow roaring out of the bushes, Feld's smile widened.

"It seems I won't be able to sleep tonight."
