Capítulo 329: Positively influencing player emotions

The perspective of Final Fantasy 7 is still played from a god's-eye view, but compared to the original version, Takayuki has made significant improvements. The scenes have transitioned from the original 2D to 3D, and the characters' polygons are smoother, without sharp edges.

For players in this world, these visual effects are already quite surprising.

Through the expressive power of 3D graphics, the combat effects of the characters have also been greatly enhanced this time.

On the television screen, the yellow hedgehog follows behind the burly man and soon encounters a group of soldiers.

Then the battle officially begins.

Compared to other turn-based systems, Final Fantasy's turn-based combat requires more precise timing, adding a sense of urgency to the player's experience.

However, dealing with a few soldiers is not a problem for the protagonist.

After several rounds of fighting, the group is temporarily safe. Then, the burly man with the machine gun arm starts to vehemently condemn Shinra's reckless exploitation of the planet's resources. He swears to protect the entire planet, and his means of doing so is to blow up the so-called Mako Reactor.

Joshua feels that the thinking of this burly man is a bit extreme. Isn't it just a bit of resources on the planet? What impact can it have when it's used up?

He still doesn't fully understand the worldview of this world, but some viewpoints are starting to collide or intersect.

He begins to actively consider the social status of this world.

As for the male protagonist, the yellow hedgehog remains as calm as ever, as if such a terrorist explosion is not a big deal.

Then the scene shifts to what appears to be a high-end office, where an old man and a bearded man are in conversation.

Through the conversation, Joshua learns that these are the executives of the company that built the Mako Reactor.

They look down on the actions of the protagonist and his group, mocking them as ants trying to shake a tree. Their actions cannot shake their dominant position in the slightest.

Seeing this scene, Joshua suddenly feels that blowing up a reactor is not a big deal after all. It would be best to also get rid of these annoying company executives, but he realizes that this is probably a late-game character and dealing with them now is not possible.

In the end, the protagonist and his group rush to the core of the Mako Reactor and set the timer on the bomb, then prepare to retreat.

But suddenly, a mechanical creature resembling a scorpion blocks their path.

This mechanical creature is huge, and if they don't defeat it, they probably won't be able to retreat safely.

So the burly man and the yellow hedgehog protagonist fight the monster together.

Obviously, this is a boss-level monster. At first, Joshua was a bit careless and got killed by the monster, ending the game.

His eyes widened, in a state of intense concentration.

The overall difficulty of this boss is not too high, as long as you are careful, you can defeat it.

After a tough battle, Joshua finally defeats the boss blocking the escape route.

Joshua also breathed a sigh of relief, then quickly controlled the character to retreat from the Mako Reactor.

To convey a sense of crisis, the explosion of the Mako Reactor also intentionally starts a countdown.

Although there is enough time to run back and forth, it still creates a sense of tension.

The beginning of the game can be said to be full of tension.

At first, the players control a group of rebels, risking everything to blow up the Mako Reactor.

This also has a kind of thrilling feeling of doing something bad secretly.

Then, just as the players relax a bit, another big boss blocks their path.

The countdown to the explosion, the threat of the big boss.

Originally, this was just a variant of a turn-based game, but it still made players feel tense.

Joshua doesn't understand things like video game psychology, but he has to admit that he has been captivated by the tense atmosphere at the beginning of the game.

When he finally controlled the yellow hedgehog protagonist to run out of the Mako Reactor and the reactor exploded, the plot progressed to the next step.

In the team, a girl named Jesse is somewhat surprised by the power of the explosion.

Because according to her estimate, the explosion should only destroy the core of the Mako Reactor, but it should not generate such a violent shockwave.

However, the players learn through a god's-eye view that the reason for the increased power of the explosion was that the boss of Shinra Corporation deliberately destroyed the explosion core and released all the Mako energy, causing a more powerful explosion.

However, for Shinra Corporation, this is not a loss but a help, because they can legitimately shift all the blame to the protagonist group due to this explosion.

"That damn old man, I must find a way to get rid of you!" Joshua watches the contemptuous smile on the screen of the Shinra Corporation's old man with anger, his emotions already involved in the game characters.

But at this moment, the protagonist group in the game is unaware of this, and Jesse, who is responsible for making the explosive material, regrets why she didn't pay attention to the power of the explosion and should have tested it more.

"No, no, it's not your fault." Joshua couldn't help but sympathize with Jesse on the television screen.

Obviously, it had nothing to do with Jesse; it was that damn old man from Shinra Corporation.

However, the plot must continue.

The protagonist group quickly arrives at the street through the sewer.

Now, many innocent civilians on the street look terrified next to the ruins.

"Did you hear? Someone launched a terrorist attack."

"Those guys are really despicable!"

"We are innocent, why are we implicated? These guys are really despicable!"

Watching the discussions of those people on the street, Joshua becomes even angrier.

Obviously, they shouldn't have much to do with the protagonist group. They had only planned to confine the explosion to the range of the Mako Reactor.

But now they have been burdened with a big blame, which is somewhat uncomfortable.

But overall, the mission was a success.

The yellow hedgehog protagonist remains as indifferent as ever, only caring about his reward.

When the group prepares to temporarily separate, the burly man promises to settle the reward when they return to their base.

Then the yellow hedgehog starts to act alone.

At this point, Joshua can take a good look at this completely fictional city.

The appearance and image of this city are very similar to modern ones.

He has never played a role-playing game that is very similar to the modern world before.

In previous games, they were all about heroes, princesses, and dragons, mostly related to the Middle Ages.

Only a few small companies would produce role-playing games set in other eras, such as the Ninja Plan, which describes stories of ancient Japanese ninjas.

And recently, the Ninja Plan has also undergone a reform, advancing the plot to modern life.
