"Winning it all, huh," Fujitora glanced at Dice.
"Vice Admiral, your luck seems to be quite good," Baccarat said with a smile as she walked over.
"Heh, my luck has always been bad. Ever since I went blind, I've never won in a casino, only lost," Fujitora chuckled, subtly glancing at Baccarat and Dice.
Clearly, Fujitora's Observation Haki allowed him to sense the casino's tricks. He also understood that some Navy officers winning big in Gran Tesoro casino might have suspicions, but they didn't expose anything.
This was one of the main reasons Fujitora came here. In this chaotic world, the Navy is the last line of defense for civilians. If the Navy becomes corrupted, it would be very bad news.
"If you don't believe in your luck, why not try again? Best two out of three," Dice suggested. His arrogance depended on the person; if it were anyone else, he would've thrown them out. But this blind Vice Admiral was as strong as an Admiral, and throwing him out would probably end badly for Dice.
Moreover, it seemed this blind Vice Admiral knew Tesoro's guests.
"Let's try then," Fujitora agreed, clearly wanting to see what the casino would do.
"Hehe, then let's begin," Dice grinned, lifting the large dice cup. He stomped, sending three giant dice into the air, and then swiftly scooped them into the cup. Dice shook the cup vigorously, creating a strong wind inside the casino. The dice clattered loudly against the cup's walls. After a moment, Dice slammed the cup down, covering the dice.
"Place your bets, big or small," Dice announced, a timeless phrase in casinos. He then looked at Fujitora with a smile.
"It seems my luck on small bets is good today..." Fujitora mused.
"Bet big; you'll win," a familiar voice suddenly sounded in Fujitora's ear. He paused for a moment before continuing, "So, I'll bet on small."
Dice nodded, then took out a long axe. He leaped into the air, spinning the axe rapidly.
With a loud crash, the axe, still in Dice's hand, slammed into the dice cup, shattering it and revealing the dice.
The dealer immediately announced, "Four, five, six, fifteen points, big."
Seeing the result, Baccarat smiled, "It seems Vice Admiral's luck isn't great, but there are still two more rounds."
Fujitora also smiled, "Yes, we still have two more rounds."
Dice picked up the large dice cup again and glanced at the provocatively dressed Baccarat, who seemed to understand his intent. She walked over to Fujitora's side, reaching out to lightly pat his left shoulder, as if by accident. But then, she noticed Brook looking at her, and Fujitora's blank eyes 'looking' in her direction. Her raised hand froze in mid-air.
This sudden turn of events surprised Tanaka, who was watching from the surveillance room. Did Baccarat fail because the Vice Admiral was too vigilant, or because he sensed something?
"Is something wrong, ma'am?" Fujitora asked, turning to Baccarat.
"No, nothing. I just wanted a closer look," Baccarat quickly composed herself, smiling.
"Oh," Fujitora responded, saying no more.
"Hey, hey, Issho, you're being too cold to the lady. Be careful, or you'll never find a wife! Besides, it looks like she's trying to give you a luck boost," a teasing voice said.
Fujitora frowned, hearing the voice clearly in his ear, even though his Observation Haki detected no one nearby.
"Hey, hey, Issho, are you still a virgin?" the voice continued, clearly belonging to Nicolas. Fujitora, unable to hold back any longer, responded with irritation.
"Nicolas, please stop joking around," he finally said aloud.
Fujitora's odd behavior of speaking to the air puzzled Baccarat and Dice, while Brook, Katie, and Urouge seemed to have realized something, showing surprised expressions.
"Vice Admiral, you...?" Dice questioned, confused.
"There are still two more rounds," Fujitora responded.
"Then let's continue," Dice agreed, preparing for the next round with a new set of dice cups.
Meanwhile, in the surveillance room of the casino, a man in a luxurious suit, Tesoro, sat with Tanaka, the head of security, standing respectfully beside him.
Tesoro was watching the footage of Fujitora and Dice gambling intently. "Boss, it's here," Tanaka said, pausing the screen at the moment Fujitora appeared to be talking to the air.
"Can you figure out what he's saying?" Tesoro asked, frowning. While the surveillance Den Den Mushi could capture video, it couldn't pick up sound unless close by.
"We had lip-reading experts analyze it. He said, 'Nicolas, please stop joking around,'" Tanaka reported, pausing with unease before delivering the translation.
"What exactly did he say?" Tesoro pressed, clearly concerned. He knew how powerful Vice Admiral Fujitora was, rivaling the three Admirals of the Navy. The idea that anyone could be messing with him was alarming.
"Are you sure?" Tesoro asked again, unable to believe it.
"Yes, we consulted five or six experts, and they all came to the same conclusion," Tanaka confirmed.
"Did you check the footage from the other surveillance Den Den Mushi for any signs of someone around Fujitora?" Tesoro asked, still probing for answers.
"There was nothing unusual. I reviewed the VIP area footage as soon as we noticed something was off. There's no sign of anyone else," Tanaka replied.
Tesoro began to suspect that something unusual was happening in the VIP room, something potentially supernatural.
Little did Tesoro know that the 'something unusual' was actually sitting in the control room, silently observing the entire situation.
