After the all-important talk, Raja had initiated earlier, Seth and his people ate and drank with the lions and lionesses.
After relaxing, eating, and drinking, the group finished what they had to do there. Seth had only decided to help Kion because the lion's situation reminded him so much of the situation in his tribe.
When they arrived at the Golden Mane Lions' tribe and were invited to eat as an acknowledgment of their actions, the group didn't refuse it and ended up hearing these important points for them to remember.
After more than three hours with the group of lions, Seth was the first to show he wanted to leave, standing up from where he was sitting and thanking them for the food.
"My friends, thank you for the food and the stories. I see the beasts of the continent have a lot of experience. It's just a shame that these fellows from my homeland never wanted to talk to us." Seth said as he looked at the lions in a special way that made each of these lions feel special in their own way.
"Indeed. Finding Kion was our luck." Dax commented as he made a gesture of thanks to this fellow and the other lions nearby. "Not only did you tell us important things, but you also showed us a new way to experience the continent."
Until they arrived at this place, they had no plans to try to get close to beasts or other types of special beings from Ihaes in their quest for revenge. They hadn't thought about the possibility that creatures like those lions might have ways to help them.
However, after talking with Raja and other lions from this tribe, they realized that beasts or other types of beings from the continent might have known more about these lands than humans and Sky People!
This encounter was a real eye-opener for Seth's people!
They had only seen the path in front of them. But now they saw the sides, the top, the bottom, and much more.
"The meat was great." Atlas smiled as he looked earnestly at the lions around him. "I liked the meat sold in the restaurants in the dynasty. But your meat is more like what we used to make at home."
"We're glad you liked it," Kion said as he bowed to these beings.
Raja added. "You are leaving, but know that the Golden Mane Lion tribe will be here to welcome you as long as we live, seniors. It would be our greatest honor to hear your stories when you are ready to tell them."
"Hmm." Seth nodded at the old lion before saying. "Old Raja, in my tribe, we don't say goodbye. We believe that sooner or later, we will meet again, in life or in death. So, see you later, my friends."
"See you." Several lions said, just before Seth summoned his flying boat, and his entire group quickly boarded.
After each of the five had positioned themselves in the small boat, they set off without looking back, moving forward with their previous goal of going to the dynasty's capital.
They knew that this tribe would have problems in the future and that other hunters would come to bother them. But that was nature. They couldn't stay there forever and help the tribe live in peace forever.
As soon as they left the place, Emery asked Seth. "What do you think about what we heard earlier?"
"I don't know," Seth told his group. "I've been using it since I was born. I don't know what it's like to live without it, so to me, it just looks like a necklace that has great meaning to our people. I honestly can't understand why someone would want to destroy our tribe just for it."
They were all thinking the same thing. They were now alert to the possibility that there was more to the item that they didn't know about. Still, none of them felt that there was anything impressive about the item that could justify the end of the tribe for this mere necklace.
In their opinion, if someone asked them for the item instead of the alternative, the tribe would probably give up their prehistoric item. As much as every First Elder in the tribe's history had used it until they found their successor, it couldn't have been worth more than the lives of almost every tribe member.
So they couldn't help but be surprised that they felt nothing from the thing.
But none of them questioned Seth about removing the necklace. What had happened couldn't be changed, and it wasn't his fault that he had this ancient artifact. Only the successors to the position of First Elder could wear this item, but none of them could be chosen as such.
So they couldn't ask Seth to take such a thing off his neck and let them try it on.
But even if Moses were with them, he wouldn't ask for such a thing, for few could afford such a necklace.
According to the tribe's legends, the spirits of each of the First Elders left marks on the item to prevent the unworthy from obtaining it.
There were cases of rebellious people who tried to take such a necklace from others who had been chosen to become the tribe's First Elder. Every time someone not chosen by the First Elder to wear such an artifact wore it, terrible things happened to them in the hours and days following their actions.
The tribe was not always a peaceful place where everyone agreed on everything. Problems such as theft, unauthorized fights, and jealousy existed within the tribe, although it wasn't as bad as in Ihaes.
It was from these occasions that the members of the tribe learned that it was risky to play with this ancient artifact.
"I think we need to study the history of the wars on Ihaes, the motivations behind those conflicts, and the forces that participated in them. That will give us a chance to learn about the artifacts Raja mentioned and understand the motivations of those involved in these conflicts. That may lead us to our enemies." Emery commented while the others couldn't help but agree.
Dax said. "We'll do that when we get to the dynasty's capital. We'll keep our plans for that city and look for them while we're there. We'll probably get more satisfying answers there."
"If Elder Snyder hasn't given us a bad reputation," Levi muttered with a bitter look.
Seth looked into the eyes of the youngest-looking man among them. "Me too. Moses must be long gone by now. I wonder if we'll meet the rest of the tribe again in the future?"
