Capítulo 8: 07 - Another World

A/N: I have actually written more words for this rewrite than the original (about 1.5 the original), but it doesn't feel like it, yeah?

I will transition into 1000 words-per-chapter rather than the usual 3000, this might make the pace quicker, but it'll make my updates far more consistent.

I had been unable to properly supply my readers with enough chapters using the 3000-words quota, but I was able to do so with 1000 words everyday back in my Dragon fic. (Which I did NOT drop by the way, new chapter coming, just let me cook.)

The problem with 3000 words chapter is that I actually CAN write most of it in just one day, but the effort to do so burns me out to the point that I procastinate on making the last 500 or so words. This is not a problem with 1000 words chapter since I have a full day to recover and isn't as burned out.

This will the first chapter with only 1000 words. not counting this author's note. Hope it isn't too much of a bother.

The Rift wasn't as otherworldy as Alexander would have thought. Well, after experiencing a whole plethora of angelic-based shenanigans, he might not nessesarily still have that 'normal' frame of reference, but it should still count...

This supposed dimension between dimensions was just a giant tunnel, one that was monochrome and completely devoid of colour.

He called it a tunner, but it was more like a 'road' or a 'pathway' with an unclear direction, seemingly...looping in on itself?

But just as Alexander flew to where the road was supposed to meet itself in a circle, it never happened, like the the path was and always had been a straight one.

Curiously, he attempted to descend, intending to make contact with the monochromic floor.

Yet as he tried to do so, he suddenly realized that he was still going forward, the floor having transformed into the 'forward'

He tried to collide against the wall, but that too became a new forward. When he looked back, there were no holes in the walls left by his collision, just a straight path, as if he had never deviated away from it.

Scratch his remark about the Rift being somewhat normal, this shit was trippy!

He could not see any nearby precesence, nor the touch of Zeshua's carapaced hand. Yet he could still feel the Principality's distinct warmth in his tendrils, as if he was still holding onto the older Angel.

Seeing that there was literally no other choice than to go forward, Alexander did so as he fluttered his wings.

There was no sign of Mana in this dimension as Alexander could only feel the energy emanating out of himself, the surroundings being devoid of magic.

That's the only thing missing though, as there was no sound or smell aside from himself, yet there was light.

In fact, the light was everywhere, but it didn't seem to have originated from an actual source...

It seemed that the Rift was a kind of liminal space much like the Backrooms, but even more abstract.

'Hey...what is that? Is that...' He had been going forward for about 7 minutes now when he stumbled upon a weird sight.

Usually, whenever he would face a wall, it would quickly become the new forward...

But for whatever reason, this time, it didn't happen. Instead, Alexander had found himself in a veritable dead end, the only other way being the path behind him.

'What, is this a no through road...?' He questioned himself as he tried to get closer to the wall.

The image of the wall was blurry and unclear ad he got closer, it looked less like a wall and more like two paths going through each other, creating a sort of corner in reality.

That...that doesn't really make much sense, does it? Well, this whole dimension doesn't make any sense either...

He reached out with a tendril, almost touching the wall shortly before his entire body seem to go pass it.

And the next moment, Alexander found himself in a completely different space, dark, damp, and confined.

Although the first adjective quickly began to be inaccurate as the light emanating out of thr Angel filled the tight space.

'Where am...I?' Alexander was obviously not in the Rift any longer, he just suddenly materialized here with no sign of the previous dimension.

'Is this some kind of box? Or maybe a chest?' Alexander mused as he gazed around with his many eyes, rubbing his tendrils against the hard surface.

Under him was a kind of bow, one that looked surprisingly well-perserved for an obviously aged bow.

'I'm inside a treasure chest...?' Alexander made such a conclusion as he inspected the find wood, metal, and stone that comprised the insides of this chest.

Although, for a treasure chest, it seemed rather barren as the only thing inside was him, the bow, and his Halo, which now stuck to his head like a crown instead of floating due to the limited space.

He could feel a subtle yet very noticeable weight upon his form, though it didn't feel as if he was carriying it with his body, but with his soul.

The weight wasn't much, it was pretty much the same kind of weight a middle school student had to carry in their backpacks.

Not a lot, but still noticeable.

"That means I'm finally safe..." He muttered aloud, his angelic body resting between the bow's string and limbs.

He had the distinct feeling that if he were to let go of this weight, then he'd soon find himself back in the Rift...

This weight must be the counter force every alien has to face when they enter another world. It was the same concept shown in the original novel, with Roy having some means of going around it...

Alexander gazed at his tendrils, the warmth of Zeshua's hand completetly absent. It seems he had been seperated from them, though that much was a predictable outcome.

He'd have to connect to this world's Heaven soon and make sure to tell them that he was alright...

Although, for the current moment, Alexander couldn't be bothered to do so as he released an extremely exhausted breath.

Angels didn't need to sleep, but just resting and zoning out should be fine. He really needed to sort everything out before tackling any more weird mothmen and flesh giants...

Though that thought was quickly squashed as a great rumbling took place, seeming to be an earthquake of some kind.

But he had a feeling it wasn't such a simple earthquake...

'Can't I just get a single moment here...?' He complained, reaching out to the hard surface as he pushed himself against it.

Ripping the damn chest open proved easier than expected as his brute strenght had considerably increased than when he was a mere a fetus.

Although it couldn't be properly put to use when facing full-grown Demons, it could now...

The sound of wood and stone being shattered could be heard as Alexander's eyes rapidly adjusted to the sunlight. He released a low growl as he expected some kind of monster to be waiting on the other side.

But there was nothing there, instead, Alexander found himself on top of some ruined building, completely run down with vines growing all over it.

Though that wasn't the thing that attracted his attention as his eyes had instead focused on the true source of the rumbling.

A giant tower was erupting out of the ground, a very familliar kind of tower that had immediately illicited a reaction from the young Angel.

Alexander had found himself in the Legend of Zelda.
