Capítulo 107: Chapter 107 The Dragon’s Message
Karna was sitting in a room with the entire supposed strongest Fairy Tail team where they recounted everything that had happened when they were in Heartfilia mansion.
They talked about how Layla had mentioned the name of a Heartfilia ancestor, because of which Natsu fainted and was able to meet Igneel.
Igneel told Natsu that he will be able to appear before Natsu if he becomes strong enough and also to be friends with the sky dragon slayer and the iron dragon slayer plus he also had given him something by which he can contact Karna and Igneel had specifically told Natsu to talk to Karna about it. Which he only remembered after getting grilled by Erza who became pissed after finding out that Natsu was not able remember what Igneel said after the others tried for a few hours.
'hiiiissssss' Karna winced in his mind as he found out the reason for the bandages covering Natsu's head right now, it seems like Erza had tried to solve Natsu's memory issue by how old people fixes TV's. and seeing Natsu's expression of defeat and the other's expression of fear, Karna don't even want to imagine what had happened there.
Erza at the time was calmly sipping the tea and eating the cake kept in the table by Cornelia who had welcomed everyone back. She did not even look a bit guilty about the wounds on Natsu, and looking closely, Karna found out that her lips curled slightly every time Natsu's memory problem was mentioned.
'Damn is this girl proud of beating up Natsu' and looking to the side, Karna saw that Makarov also noticed this but was trying his best to ignore it.
"So, the old man told me that he can talk with you with this" Natsu finished and raised his hand.
Suddenly blood red flames the size of a thumb came from it. And seeing the flames a famous scene of the anime he had seen in his past life came to him.
"The Tenacity of the Fire Dragon King"
At the end of his life, Igneel had passed on his fire formed by the emotion of his tenacity to Natsu, hoping that he will be able to use it against Acknalogia. But since the power had come from someone who had died, it had the power to kill someone who can't be killed. Therefore, becoming something that can even kill Zeref, the being who became immortal because he wanted death.
Even though Natsu was not able to complete it, Zeref had commented upon the power of the fire he had used and had insinuated that it is the strongest fire he had ever seen. Even in the later battle with Zeref, Natsu had won with the flames brought by the activation of the Dragon Force, Zeref was beaten because he had gotten tired, he did not feel the same awe when he had faced Igneel's fire from Natsu.
But even with that powerful fire, Igneel had lost to Acknalogia. This only made Karna's determination to get stronger even more. But coming back to how Natsu told that he needs to be stronger so that Igneel needs to come out.
After getting the mind palace and rewatching the series again, Karna had a few doubts. Why had not Igneel come out during the Tenrou Island incident. And during the dragon attack in the future that was destroyed, Lucy had mentioned Natsu was killed by the dragons, but she had never mentioned anything about Igneel. So, the chances are Igneel can only come out if Natsu is stronger. The soul magic used by Igneel should not have such limitation. This is something he can deduce with the limited idea that he has about the soul magic he has read before.
The only reason Natsu has to be strong is to endure the dragon that is coming out of the body. In both of the incidents where Igneel was supposed to come out, Natsu was not as strong as he was when fighting Tartaros. And in those battles, he had grown in power as well before the dragons had come out.
Karna does not know whether the dragon had told Natsu to get stronger just for him to get strong or whether the theories he is making in his mind is true. The only thing he can do is look at what Igneel had send him.
"By the way Karna, when I asked my mother why she talked like that to Natsu, she told me to ask you".
Karna sighed.
'You pushed them to it, now are you making me deal with the aftermaths'.
"Its better you don't know about it now Lucy, that goes for all of you as well. Natsu, you should just listen to what Igneel told you to do for now and get strong as possible. That goes for all of you too. Even though we can't tell you about everything, the least you all can do is to be prepared for whatever's coming" I replied.
Everyone nodded as if agreeing to me, Natsu was scratching his head while still holding out the flame. While Lucy had a frown, it must not be easy for her to see that her mother was hiding something from her, and that's why she had told them to ask me.
I can only hope the Gerard incident gets over soon so that I can give them the breathing techniques to help them get more stronger but for now let's see this through.
Just as Karna touched the flame, it latched on to his hand and began to spread across him. The others seeing this jumped up and Grey began to use his ice magic, but Karna stopped him.
"Don't, its not hot" as he said the fire spread out on his whole body and finally his head and then he was brought into someplace else.
"Its finally nice to see you, genius of the century Karna Vermillion."
