"You did?" Nicolai raised a brow with a sly grin on his lips, which made Ariel suffocate. She clenched her fingers around the thin stand of the glass which she was holding. 

The tips of her fingers started to shiver and tremble as she nodded stiffly while letting a sweet smile play on her lips. 

"I did," Ariel answered with a light flutter of her lashes. "But why are you asking me this question? Did Ari say something to you which made you think otherwise?" 

'What an idiot,' thought Nicolai with a light snort. 

Ariel did not have the slightest bit of idea that there was another little boy who was kidnapped along with Noah.

Unlike Noah, who had come looking for her almost at once, Nicolai had only seen Ariel from afar before deducing she wasn't the one who saved him.
