Noah followed the woman's gaze and sighed when he realized that he was a step too late in putting the invitation aside. He expected Ariana to close the door on his face right away which was why he was prepared to hand the invitation card to Ariana right away. 

Who would have expected that his preplanning would end up causing trouble for him?

He nodded and politely replied, "Yes, I am from the Nelson family." 

That sobered Arabella up right away, she tucked her newly dyed red locks behind her ear and said to Noah, "Oh, it's a pleasure to meet you, Mister Nelson. Would you like to come to my apartment and have a cup of tea?" 

"No, there is no need," Noah refused, his eyes quietly observing the door that was shut close. He couldn't understand whether Ariana was avoiding him or she was truly not at home.
